my wife and I just returned from a 4 day getaway at the Hilton Marco Beach Resort. I had never been to Marco Island and so I spent a lot of time reading all the reviews, etc to find the right place for my wife and I to spend a few days without our teenagers. The hotel was great. from the moment we arrived, the place was perfect. The staff could not have been more pleasant. Virtually everyone said "hello" and good morning. They constantly asked us if there was anything we needed. We had breakfast buffett everymorning which was eggs any way or omlettes, smoke fish, waffles, french toash, fresh OJ and coffee looking out at the beach. it was $17 each. Not terrible. we went to the beach and were greeted by the attendant who brought us a beach chair and carried it to whereever we wanted to put it.. All for no extra cost (umbrellas were extra but we didnt need them) They provided towels. The pool was very nice but we decided that the beach was quieter and without kids (remember we left ours home). there is a nice beach bar with tables looking out over the dunes. some reasonably priced drinks and light food. a great weight room and great spa. we couldnt have been happier. the water worked, the room was beautiful.
we went sailing in naples and had a great dinner at corks and spent a lot of time in goodland at some great local bars on the water.

My friend and I travel every year for our birthday. Last year we went to the Royal in Cancun, but after she got a parasite there last August, we decided never to go back. So, we found the Hilton Marco Island Beach Resort and Spa and could not have been more pleased!!! We booked our trip back in October and debated between the Hilton and the Marriott, but the Marriott was about $200 more per night. We were worried at first because of the price difference, but are so happy with our choice.

You cannot go wrong with this hotel. We had a Jr. Suite Gulfview room with an amazing view of the Gulf of Mexico. We could lay in our beds and look out over the water; it was beautiful. We did not choose the garden or pool/Gulf view, and are glad we didn't. The room we were in was located on the south side of the building, which received direct sunlight. We sat out on our balcony and were able to get as much sun as we wanted right there all day; it never was in the shade. We read in previous postings about construction noise, but did not hear a thing. We did see where construction might have been going on next door, but they were not working the weekend we were there.

The room was VERY nice. The beds were extremely comfortable; I did not want to get out of bed once while we were there and everything is upgraded (granite countertops, flatscreen tv, etc). The bathroom had two separate sinks; one was outside of the actual bathroom in it's own alcove, which made getting ready easier between two people. There were two bathrobes in the room for our use, along with a safe and a refrigerator. We did have to pay for wireless internet, but it was not a big deal considering how nice everything else was.

The pool area was great, but half of it was in the shade the days we were there. That may have been because it's winter right now (the sun may be higher in the summer). Lounge chairs for the beach are free with your room, you just request how many you need and where you want them and they put them out for you. Beach towels are also complimentary by the pool and you can request as many as you need. There are also umbrellas and cabanas available for rent on the beach. The umbrellas were $17 per day and the cabanas were $20 per day. We rented a cabana the day we were on the beach and it was wonderful to have other people behind us blocked by our cabana. It helped with the excess noise and just gave a little bit of privacy. There is a bar at the pool that serves lunch and drinks and it's great. The bartenders were very friendly and helpful. There are also a few cocktail waiters/waitresses that walk around the pool and the beach if you want to order something without having to get up. We also tried the Sandcastles lounge for happy hour one night (drinks are two for one from 5-7pm); it is a more upscale bar. The food looked really good in there.

There are numerous restaurants across the street from the Hilton; such a short walk. Nacho Mama's has THE BEST fresh salsa and serves GREAT mexican food. We ate there our first and last night, and I'm still wanting to go back. There is a movie theater across the street as well. We also found a little Italian restaurant called La Grotta's (it's a short drive from the Hilton; just turn left out of the parking lot and you can't miss the green awning and white lights on the right). La Grotta's was not busy at all and served the best, authentic Italian food. The bread was unbelievable, as was the eggplant parmesan. The service was excellent, and they even gave us a free brownie sundae for our birthday. There is also a Winn-Dixie and a Publix only a short drive from the hotel.

We did have to pay for parking each day and for the spa, which was amazing. The spa just opened up and it is a nice facility. I had to peel myself out of there. There is a sauna and a steamroom in the locker room, along with rainhead showers and lockers for use. You will not be disappointed if you book a spa appointment. I recommend booking before you go; we did before we left and it appeared that they were booking quick.

The service at the Hilton was top notch. I had forgotten my razor, and they sent one up immediately. We also needed a wire reattached to our tv upon arrival, and the maintenance man was there in no time. Everyone is very friendly and willing to help with whatever you need.

I highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling to Marco Island. It's a great retreat, very low key and very relaxing. If you haven't been to Marco Island before, don't go if you're looking to party. This is a getaway/relaxing type of environment which you won't be disappointed with. I can't wait to go back!!!

We stayed at this hotel this past December and it impressed us from the moment we walked in. The staff was very very friendly and helpful at all times. We were upgraded without even having to ask and the bellman delivered our bags and also stayed to recommend some local restaurants. Everything was very clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had been touring all day in December when we checked into the hotel at 8:00 pm. We were tired and the hotel appeared to be adequate at that time. The next day we tourned the area and returned to the hotel in the afternoon. We went out to dinner and returned at approximately 8:00 pm. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands but there was no water. I called the front desk and asked what was happening. They said that a water main had broken in the hotel, it was being repaired and there would be water within one hour. Because there was no water anywhere in the hotel, I continued to call up the front desk hourly until after 1 am and received the 1 hour lie that there would be water in one hour. It was too late to go looking for another hotel, so we went to bed after 1 am and found water when we woke up at 6:00 am.
THIS BREAKDOWN WAS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. Another guest was told there would be no water for 4 hours and he checked out. (see review posted Sept 15, 2005.) If we had been told the truth when we returned to the hotel at 8pm, we would have checked out. IF I HAD READ TRIPADVISOR, WE NEVER WOULD HAVE BEEN PUT THIS UNSANITARY CONDITION. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE PLUMBING. HOW OFTEN HAS THIS HAPPENED???

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Marco Island Hilton. This was our second stay and both stays have been great. For this trip we pulled points and were upgraded. The room was nice with a new flat screen TV, comfy robes and a nice size fridge, to keep a bottle of wine chilled.

We took advantage of their new spa facilities with a couples massage, it was fabulous!!!! Take time to enjoy all that the spa has to offer, the sauna and steam rooms were very nice and the shower was to like a rain shower, these are in a separate areas for men and women so you can just relax and enjoy.

The customer service was excellent, the staff was helpful but not intrusive. The only time that there was any problem was at the pool side café the service was a little slow. One of the great things that I saw was the restaurant served dinner to a family out on the beach. They set a table up (with candles), the manager escorted them out and there was a waiter that was taking their order. When I asked the manager about it as he was walking back up from the beach, he stated that to get that type of service you just needed to call the dining room and ask. I am not sure if they could do it all the time but I was impressed.

The only draw back to the stay is that it is expensive to eat at the hotel, but there are lots of places in walking or a quick drive from the hotel. I expect to have high prices at a hotel so that was not a shock or disappointment, but a heads up for those staying.

By the way I like having the coffee cart down stairs. It is a quick way to grab a cup of coffee and a bagel or muffin for breakfast.

This was our third stay at the Hilton Marco Island - and we enjoyed it a lot. The hotel is nice, staff friendly, and the rooms big and well decorated. The pool is great - but the real selling point is the Beach location - and what a fabulous beach!

Would be five stars - but the price was high (two rooms for two nights came in at just under $1,000 after taxes, resort fees, parking, and one poolside Lunch). Maybe it is just the exchange rate - but we first stayed in this Hotel in 2000 - and remember better value.

Highly recommended if you can get the right price.

We have stayed at the Hilton at this time of the year for the past ten years, and have always enjoyed our stay, as we did this year. We did notice however that the hotel is is begining to look and feel tired. The runners on the wardrobes no longer fit and kept coming detatched. The bathroom fittings were very hit and miss. We felt the whole place needed a makeover. The staff were on the whole very friendly, but beware of the Australian women on reception ( I take the point of a previous review warning of her ) The sad attempt of a Starbucks booth was not good. The muffins were stale and not presented well at all.I would say the hotel was pound for pound value for money.........Just.
