“Sunset in Paradise”

We have been going to this hotel for our anniversary for several years . I have already booked for next year. The beach is white , the water is blue ,the drinks are cold, the food is fabulous the fishing is fantastic, the shopping is endless and the hotel makes you feel at home without all of the stress. You must watch the sunsets with a drink or a fishing rod in hand (and camera).

My husband was struck by a lawn mower on the front sidewalk of the Marriott on Marco Island. He was riding his bike when the Marriott's mower came onto the mixed use path and threw him up over his handle bars. The Marriott denies that this ever happened. He is not someone looking for a big settlement. He simply wants his bike fixed and his phone replaced. Fortunatley he is in good physical condition and after several weeks of soreness he is feeling better.

The rooms are large and clean, you are right on the ocean, and the staff is extra friendly. If you want a traditional big hotel down here, this is as good as any.

My wife and I went to this hotel for a friend's wedding in September, 2011. Our room had a view of the pool and the ocean. The room was very nice and clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

The pool was nice, and the beach was enormous! One of the biggest beaches I have ever seen (in terms of distance from hotel to ocean). They had chairs and umbrellas to rent, and attendants came by in Jeeps to take food and drink orders (it was very amusing to see them drive with one hand and hold the drink tray with the other hand and not spill one drop!).

We went to the on-site casual restaurant by the pool. The food was good, I thought.

Room Tip: They have a North wing and a South Wing. I can't remember which wing we stayed in, but we did g...

Just home from a very enjoyable and relaxing 5 day family stay in the Marco Island Marriott. This is the second time myself and the family have stayed at this resort.

First of all, I felt the vibe in the resort was very relaxing which was just what we needed after the Orlando parks experience. The staff were all really friendly and genuine, the amenities ( eg The free fitness centre ) in the resort itself were excellent and we all really enjoyed the excellent pool and beautiful beach.

To endorse some previous reviews, you do need a car if staying at this resort although it is likely to get here you will have come in one! & the bathrooms are a little bit of a let down for the class of resort in my opinion ( but big deal in the overall scheme of things )

I found the food dissapointing in both Kurrents and Quinns, with the menu reading better than the food served. I only liked the peel and eat shrimp and the Chicken Wings at Quinns and we ate bits and pieces most days. I found the food lacking flavour and looking a little tired.I think that this could be remedied by focusing on freshness.

After the first day, I started to go to the local Market ... Winn-Dixie, there is also a Publix nearby, whereby I bought fresh fruit and Crusty bread for the kids and ourselves to munch for breakfast/lunch.....topped up with bites from the on-site eateries. Also got a few bottles of wine for the room for bedtime as with the kids, it was reasonably early nights and we could go out on the balcony and enjoy a drink. There is a nice sized fridge in all the rooms so that you can keep these items cool.

If travelling over from the UK or Ireland, it is worth taking a trip to the Miromar outlets in Estero, just off the I75Exit 123 on the way Northbound. ( It maybe that you are passing on the way to Marco or on the way back ) There are the usual good outlet stores and this is a fairly stress free location in terms of getting to and in terms of traffic in the stores.

Room Tip: I don't think it is worth paying a large premium on the room price. With the layout of the hotel...

The hotel is in a great location on the beach in Marco Island. Tha facilities are excellent and the staff are friendly, helpful and professional. We had a room in the first tower (there are two), which overlooked the main pool and the beach. It is great to get up early and walk along an almost deserted beach with the pelicans and other sea birds for company.

The hotel has a good selection of eating places and shops to browse around, and there was always plewnty of room in and around the pool when we were there (early October).

As in most US hotels it is essential to have a car and the carparking is a bit pricey as there is now reduced rate for long stay (we stayed for 14 nights). The only other gripe is that it seems churlish for hotels of this calibre to charge for internet access when it is such a part of daily life now. This is still usual in many of the higher priced hotel chains in the US but some hotels, particularly the independent ones, include wifi access for free. At least in this hotel there was free wifi access in the lobby, but not very convenient if one wanted to spend an hour or so on the internet (the only alternative was to pay for a full day).

However, having mentioned the gripes, my wife and I had a wonderful time at the Marriott and would certainly highly recommend it. I wish that we were back there now as the grey, damp autumn weather in the UK is so depressing.

Brilliant location, excellent staff, great facilities, a pity about wifi access and long-term parking but do not let this put you off, we will be back for sure.

Room Tip: All rooms are quite and have a sea view but those on the south side of the first tower, higher than...

Marco Island was nice. Hotel was good, room was comfortable. Usual Marriott ripping you off for water, and snacks at 10X cost. Water for $5 dollars. Go to Publix down the street. Beach was nice, I would go back to hawaii. I was there on a conference, which was nice. Staff was good, and accomodating to late check out. Beach was decent, white sand came from all the crushed shells.

Room Tip: Shop around, Marriott was expensive
