“Great resort location, decent accommodations, wonderful service!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

Was pretty happy about this resort. Not a 5 STAR resort but location is everything and it's right on the beach with plenty of pools, food, bars and activities. Service was top notch...that is worth it all as well. The rooms were nice, normal Marriott. But we thoroughly enjoyed the views, extras and the staff (beach hut just average staff but kids/young adults there so normal service level). We parasailed and had an AMAZING first experience. Our friends stayed and our about as high up in the Marriott Rewards program as you can go. They have stayed tons of times and always get upgraded but not this time. Marriott manages this property and no longer owns it so just a pointer for those expecting extra special treatment from their Rewards level. :-)

Room Tip: closer to lobby area, ocean view; tower further from lobby (by spa) is quite a hike to beach, pools...

I was raised on the Oregon west coast where going to the beach meant sweatshirts, ice chests, hot dogs and smores. My recent 3 night stay at the Marco Island Marriott Resort was nothing like that! Although I much prefer the surf of the Oregon Beach - everyone needs to experience a little luxury from time to time. That is what this resort is all about. The accommodations where very nice and the food was EXCELLENT! We ate at all the resort restaurants and were not disappointed. The room is spacious and well appointed and we had a great ocean view on the 10th floor. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. I can't give 5 stars because the resort (like almost any place) has a few opportunities for improvement. Our tub had rust spots, thin enamel and was sunken in one spot. I expected nicer towels - they were not very large or plush. Our room was not cleaned by 3:30 pm on our second day and we had to call to get fresh towels and the trash empty, we had a long walk from our room to anywhere else in the resort - but that is pretty much the only negative I can say. We truly enjoyed our stay and felt very pampered while we were there. There was so much to do that I almost felt tired when I returned home - but it was a GREAT tired!

Room Tip: Ask for a room towards the center of the hotel where all the restaurants/bars and pools are.

I have been to the Marco Island Marriott every year for the last four years for conference and love this property. I don't have a lot of time for the beach, but it is a great place to hold a conference. The rooms are great, restaurants are really good. Kurrents in fab! The beaches don't seem very crowded, nor the pool when we visit in April. Can't say enough about the staff. Everyone goes beyond the duty to make sure you are well taken care of. Always look forward to coming back. Just wish I could extend a little longer. Maybe next year?

Room Tip: High floor gives for the best view of ocean and pool area.

What an incredible property. A first class hotel with the casual feel of an all-inclusive Carribean getaway.

Somehow this resort is able to cater to families with little kids, wedding parties and corporate guests all at once and everyone has a great time. We were there for more than 2 weeks and can hardly wait to return.

The beach is absolutely spectacular, the food is excellent and the service over the top great.

Thanks to Don the driver and Vinnie at Quinn's for going the extra yard to make our stay extra special.

The Lanai suites are worth the extra expense to be close to everything.

Book it now!

A word of caution - the pools are not conducive to a great swimming workout. They're shallow and pretty busy most of the day - lucky there's miles of great water just steps away across the white sand... :)

Oh, and don't miss the sunset celebrations!

This enormous resort has the best beach I have ever seen in Marco Island. It is really an open, peaceful and relaxing beach.
Nice pool, specially if going with children, since it has slides for them.
The food at the beach bar is good, and the deliver whatever you want to your chair in the beach.
The service is great, people always trying to help you and asking if you need anything else.
It has many stores inside the resort to buy clothes, sunglasses, sunblock, or anything you forgot at home. Moreover you will find many coffee stores to have breakfast or snack something in the afternoon.
It has an optional valet parking, or you can park your car in front of the hotel.
The rooms are nice, clean and spacious.
Next time I would like to play golf, and try the curt.
I would highly recommend this hotel, for a weekend or a week (7 days)

We stayed at the resort during April school vacation week and over Easter and had an absolutely stellar stay. Through bustling with guests and events, the staff was attentive and always helpful. The beach was gorgeous - sand like sugar, sparkly white and not hot to walk on (how can that be?). It stretched what seemed for miles and there was ample room for all of the lounge chairs and umbrellas that the beach hut staff happily toted. The waves were gentle and the water warm. The two pools were well maintained, very popular and plenty large enough for noodles, floaties, etc. We appreciated the wide range of dining options on site. My husband and daughter enjoyed the breakfast buffet at Tropiks each morning, while my son and I preferred a bagel/muffin and coffee from Cafe San Marco in the lobby. Most of our lunches were from Pazzi's - delicious take-out pizza and salads that we enjoyed poolside or on Pazzi's patio. Pazzi's is also a dinner option as is Quinn's on the Beach where a firedancer celebrates the sunset each evening. The kids loved the slushy drinks at Quinn's and meals served in metal pails. Quinn's also has a cart that serves drinks and meals on the beach all day (too easy!!). More upscale dining options include Korals (sushi) with a huge pillar fishtank and Kurrents (steakhouse) if you want a really special evening. Our room was comfortable with a great view of the beach and pool. The housekeeping staff was patient and efficient, cleaning the room at our convenience. We are an "early to bed" family and my husband and I were stunned at how quiet the room was in the evening, given the level of activity outside. The highlight of our trip was a shelling expedition arranged through the resort on the Calusa with Marco Island Water Sports. Captain Joe and First Mate Brady were fun and informative hosts as we explored the waters on our way to Cape Romano (see my pic). It was like the Book of Genesis - the dolphins leaping out of the water chasing our boat, birds soaring overhead, and the vegetation in the mangroves was lush and varied. A must do. Special thanks to Joanne (manager) for making sure our first visit will not be our last!

We stayed here April 26-May 2 with our 9 month old daughter. The hotel was great, as were the pools, and the staff. Surprisingly, the food on site at the resort restaurants was decent and fairly priced. The hotel was comfortable and offered many things to do for all ages.
