“Terrific vacation”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

We just returned from a wonderful vacation at this resort. Everything was wonderful, from the friendly helpful front desk clerk on check in, who got us a room on the ninth floor with a terrific view, to the rest of the staff who were very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, large, and very clean. We had a balcony which overlooked the beach and the pool and the views were great.A couple of things to be aware of when you go there. They charge $25 a day for beach umbrella rentals but lounge chairs and towels are complimentary. They have a policy of not allowing people to reserve chairs at the pool for more than an hour. But that is not enforced and many people put towels down on chairs that no one ever use. That makes getting a chair by the pool difficult unless you do the same thing. Also, there is a $12 a day fee to park your car across the street. The hotel restaurants are pricey but there are plenty of other places to eat that are nearby and some places provide free transportation to and from their establishments. We would definitely return to this resort in the future.

4 day trip to marco island marriott- Beautiful and well kept as always- huge resort - rooms are very large, needing a little bit of an update soon but until then everything else is wonderful- one of the best spas on the west coast of FL- good service and amazing beach- restaurant venues are not so good so planning trips in to naples restaurants is worth it but the beach, the pools and the spa make this resort worth the trip still-

Checked in to this amazing resort on Friday and left early this afternoon. We traveled with our daughter and two grandchildren ages 3 1/2 and 7. We had two rooms in the Palm Towers that had tropical views. We could see the ocean from the balcony from both rooms. Our rooms were immaculate and in outstanding condition. The rooms were large and the dressing area and bathroom were a good size. The beds were comfortable. The hotel has two nice size pools. One better suited for young children with a waterfall and slide. We used both and also the beach. The Chickee Huts were booked for the day we wanted to rent one so we booked a cabana for one day and canceled when we saw how small they were and how they were pushed together. No room to layout .Definitely not worth the money. Not what you would expect of this type of resort. As other reviewers have stated you need to secure chaise lounges early in the morning if you wish to sit by the pool. Definitely a shortage of lounge space for this large of a resort. Both pools have the same issue. The beach is beautiful and well maintained. Problem was that due to the wind no umbrellas were able to be used on Saturday and no huts were available. We will definitely return to this resort again. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to greet guests .

Room Tip: Palm Tower I further away from the main pool area. Island Tower is closer to main entrance and front...

We stayed here for six nights in mid April after a cruise round the Caribbean. After driving over from Fort Lauderdale via Highway 41, we checked in to the hotel at around 330pm, and after a short wait the room was ready for us.

We had a Front corner room in the tower, with two balconies (one rap round) which offered amazing views over the property and the beach. The room was truly amazing, with floor to ceiling windows and an amazing bathroom.

The hotel was busy - very busy, and the peace and tranquillity you kind of hope for when booking your vacation - just want there. But to be fair it was Easter - and you expect big crowds. However what I didn't expect is people starting to line up at 0700 to place their towels on the chairs by the pool when the pool opened at 0800. By opening time the line was often almost a100 people long, and by 0805 ever chair and sun lounger is taken. Strangely Marriott then give the owners 2hrs to return before supposedly removing their items - which effectively stopped us spending any time by the pool. However you probably don't need the pool when you have a beach and ocean as excellent as this property does. There are plenty of sun loungers but again you have to queue, and they charge a fee of $25 for an umbrella - despite the fact you've already paid $500 per night per room!

It's a shame that despite this being an amazing property, they seem to want to squeeze every last cent out of you. Beach umbrellas, expensive drinks, expensive breakfasts and then car parking at $12 per day in a lot, some 7-10 minutes' walk away (if you have to park at the far end). Indeed on one occasion the car park was full to capacity and we had to drive round for 30 minutes before we found a space that someone has vacated.

This is a nice hotel, with friendly staff, great views and well maintained. However you pay for it! There are much better and much better value Marriott's and JW Marriots around the US than this one!

Room Tip: Rooms on the front are amazing - but expensive

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our resort. We are delighted that you enjoyed the breathtaking views from your beautiful Gulf front corner room. We apologize for your experience at the pool during the busy Easter season and will definitely pass it on to the appropriate parties. We hope to host you again in the near future.

Let me start by saying that if you are looking for an economy stay....don't stay here. This is a full service Marriott right on the beach and you are paying for the location. I live in Naples and have stayed here many times as a "treat" for my family. We recently stayed over mother's day and had a wonderful stay. My kids love the pool with the slide and the waterfall. The beach onsite is absolutely one of the best and biggest in the area. Although the hotel was at capacity they upgraded my room to an ocean front with a beautiful view of the sandy beach and beautiful waters. The drinks at the pool are delicious...but like I said this is a full service Marriott, so they are also expensive as is the food and everything else at this hotel. But we come back because we love it. If you are looking for a bargain stay...look elsewhere. You get what you pay for and if you are willing to part with the money this is a wonderful resort.

Room Tip: If possible ask for ocean front, although we have stayed in a resort room before and they are still...

Currently staying here and happy to say last night was our last night. I travel frequently for work and experienced the absolute worst bed ever in any hotel I've ever stayed in. Will be dealing with back pain for days, not to mention exhaustion - I've been awake since 3am. So much for relaxing getaway. Beds are old and need to be replaced. Disappointed that we spent over $1000 for 3 nights. This is currently the off season at Marco Island - it's a virtual ghost town, and yet we couldn't find an empty chair at either pool yesterday. Felt very cheated that we couldn't even relax at the pool. The hotel will nickel and dime you to death for every thing. A drink by the pool, had we been able to go, was $11.00. Internet was not included, even though I have Silver Elite status. For $300+ a night, I should not have had to go to the front desk and beg for internet. I explained to them that I just spent another $1000 a week ago at another property for work and could they please let me have internet. Surprisingly they did. I definitely will not come here again. Some good things: the guys on the beach who we're giving out beach chairs, were nice and hard working. Landscaping was very tropical and pretty. Beaches are beautiful.

Beautiful resort right on the beach. Everyone greets you with a smile. More shells than you can carry home. There is a down side though. Very expensive to eat there. Two regular coffees at their Illy café cost us $10. Computer use is $5.95/15 min. Their 400 Pazzi restaurant closes at 10 pm unless they feel like they need to close earlier and you are just supposed to know this. Ask for extra rum in you pina colada, otherwise it tastes just like a slushi. We brought in our own food at time and had our own romantic dinners on the beach or on our balcony. Go to The Red Rooster for breakfast off San Marco Blvd. or if you are heading to Olde Naples, stop in at Janes for breakfast, it's excellent.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at least on the 5th floor or higher is you have a gulf view to get above the palm tre...
