“Too Many Kids!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2010

I have stayed at the Hilton and Marco Ocean Beach Resort in the past, but I wanted to give the Marriott a try this time. What a major disappointment! I would've had less stress if I had stayed at home. This place should be called "Marriott Family Resort"...not Resort and Spa. My wife and I were celebrating our 17th Anniversary. We arrived on a Friday and never knew it was a Nickelodeon Weekend. You would've thought you were in a large orphanage with kids running wild all over the place. Grant it, idiot parents are mostly to blame. They allow them to play in the hall, run back and forth to nearby "friends" rooms, scream and be noisy, and most of all, hijack both pools. When we complained about the noise level in our room, the front desk girl said "sorry, this a family resort..." I wished I would've known! Although the resort got rid of half of the patrons after Sunday, it was still a zoo. We had a nice room on the 6th floor. Bathroom was a little smaller than the Hilton and the Marco Ocean. Hallway door is not soundproof at all. You hear everything! Maid service was good, but each day the time was inconsistant and we'd come and go for an hour or two....sometimes the room was made, sometimes not. No turndown service, no big deal to me. Bed was comfy. We bought a fan at Wal-Mart just to make cover the noise at nighttime. There are two pools, one for kids and one for anyone...but mostly kids. You're lucky to find a spot poolside. While in the pool, be prepared for loud kids running, screaming, throwing things...and their idiot parents not teaching them proper behavior. Lounge chairs beachside are free. Extra costs for umbrellas or chickie huts, or equipment. Again, lazy people leaving their towels when they're done instead of properly returning them so you know what chairs are available. Self parking is $12 a day. The lot is across the street. It was so crowded on the weekend, the only spots left were at the end of their long lot almost in front of the Marco Ocean Resort. Fitness Center was very nice. Some equipment was squeaky and needed maintenance...but overall very good. We opted not to eat in their expensive restaurants or use the spa. We almost left after two days, but we opted to stay and suffer. We love Marco and we'll return to the island.....we just won't return to this resort unless they change their ways.

Loved, loved, loved this resort! Rooms were clean with an updated style. Great view from balcony. Several pools to choose from, gorgeous grounds. Also liked the convenient indoor shopping and comfy lobby. We would definitely stay here again!

We finally got to relax and reconnect with the kids. The pools were great, the kids kept going from 1 pool to the other. We enjoyed Quinns pool, the palm trees in the middle of the pool made it feel more tropical. The room was nice and clean, we did need an roll-away bed since we were five in the room. The food is a bit expensive. If you like Italian, go to Davinci's or Joey's, Joyey's will deliver to the hotel, the pizza is great. Do recommend the parra-sail, that was awsome. Instead of going to the hut right by the hotel go to the hut about 200 feet south, it will cost you $20 less per person.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling with children.

It was pretty and we had a great view buy it was crazy once we left the room, and it was the off season. There were so many kids, the pools were packed and we found ourselves being stressed out. To make matters worse we could not get an Internet connection in our room. We complained and the problem was never fixed.

Food at the resort was good but not amazing. We ate sushi the first night and the sashimi was not properly cut making it chewy. The bar tender was good and kept the drinks flowing. Quinnvs was good. They had a crab leg special and it was good but not amazing. Kurrants was better than good but a little salty. We did have a nice time sitting at the bar by the kitchen.

Sunday morning was a zoo in the lobby. Kids running and screaming. The serenity of the pictures online were very misleading. We would go somewhere else next time.

My mom, daughter, niece, nephew and I spent the weekend at this hotel to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. The room was clean, had comfy beds, and we had a wonderful view of the ocean and tiki pool. Quinn's was very nice and had great entertainment on Saturday night. There are alot of activities for kids and families. Overall, this hotel is beautiful and we will definitely be back!!!

From the moment we arrived until we left, we were impressed and loved this hotel. We needed a long weekend and wanted to feel like we were at a tropical island. The hotel is clean, the staff extremely well trained in customer service, friendly at every point, restaurants, pool, lobby etc. It's on the beach and the sunset is gorgeous. The grounds are beautifully manicured and just lovely where ever you go. We will definitely go back and can't wait. If you have little kids there are lots of activities, a little quiet for teens. Just perfect, couldn't say anything but fabulous.

Just got back from Marco Island, Marriot hotel it was amaizing. The team there were very acomodating and the food for the most part exelent. There is two pools one for the kids and the other for the rest. I spent most time at the beach and the kids pool it was a lot of fun! We were in a group of 18 people some of them went to Hilton and anthought they like they room they also hated the food.... We can not compare the two.
I have travelled a lot but like Marriot there is a few. I work with customer service but tha kind of service it was out of this world.
From the housekeeper to my waiters they were all amaizing. People shop with people and i would definitly go back.
The view from the balcony at the sun set it was to die for.
Bring some wine some great cheese and enjoy the room with your love.
The best thing on my trip was the excursion in the jet ski and seeing dolphins do not miss that opportunity $140 per jet... Expencive but worth it.

thanks to Marriot staff I had the perfect vaction in the great hotel. I wish I could stay longer.
Go, you are going to love it.
beijos Tchau.
