We rented here without knowing that this was a timeshare resort. Although the place was incredible (our room right on the Gulf!), it was the people who owned here who made our vacation most special. By the end of our week we felt we had made life long freinds and wanted to buy a week of our own. Can't say enough good things. Thank you Lee Shook!!!!

This is an ok place if you are looking to get away, kick up your feet and just relax. We came to this place through an RCI timeshare exchange. As for Gold Crown status - pushing it, but the resort does have a very nice pool and beach access.

If you want to layout by the pool - you have to get their early to get seating.. people tend to go down early and drop towels/books/toys on prime chair locations or grab the tables with umbrellas and leave.. no rules against this. Very annoying habit of individuals. Some resort now have rules against this practice, this place did not..

During our stay, the majority of the people there were 'regular week owners' so most people knew one another. They had been going there for years. If your a 'guest'.. as we were... the regulars are not overly friendly or outgoing- nor was the staff. They knew who owned and who was just there as a guest. Don't bother on the 'weeks' meet and greet session. Little cups of OJ with a splash of sparkling wine accompanied by plain or powdered doughnuts where the Mimosas’ and appetizers.

The resort had great access to the white sandy beach. Great shelling either in the morning or at night during low tide. We were there the last week of June '06.

There are two main condo buildings and a Office/maintenance building. One condo building runs parallel to the beach and the other faces the pool. There are two tennis courts in the front of the complex near the road. The condo rooms are adequate. On par with most beach front type resorts.

Like many beach front units, the first level units are on the 2nd floor - or raised so you have to climb stairs. This also enables you to park your car under your unit. We had a unit with two bedrooms (1 king & 2 singles). Two bathrooms. Wet bar, kitchen - minimally stocked, living area and a dining table off to the side. There was a screened in balcony with a ceiling fan. We had a unit with a beach view. During the last weeks of June and beginning of July, this is the turtle mating season. Meaning condos with beach front view could have no exposed lighting to confuse the turtles. Drapes had to be drawn, no balcony lights allowed, etc. This eliminated all beach breezes if you want the windows opened.

Fees for mid week cleaning, you can go get new towels and bedding if you take your items to exchange to the maintenance building twice a week. You have to rent beach chairs or water activity items from an outside company on the beach.

If you like to walk the beach, this is a nice place to do that at. Though there are many parts of the beach that are marked 'Private' so you have to stay tight to the water line...

Are we going to go back to Marco Island again? No.
Of all the Islands we have stayed on along the gulf, this was probably our least enjoyed experience. Sanibel and Captive so far have been the best.

If your looking to RELAX this is a nice place to visit. If you visit with young kids or teenagers do not come here... they will get bored very quickly.

It is perfect if you like to sit on the beach or by the pool to read a good book or soak up some sunshine. If you like to walk down the beach collecting seashells this is a great place to come. Each condo or hotel has a private beach in front of it so you dont have to worry about a bunch of people traffic or noise. Unfortunately, this also makes it diificult to walk down the beach... just stay close to the water or you will get chased away from the other complexes "private beaches."

You can rent beach chairs and wave runners on the beach. There is a Marina a short drive away where you can rent boats or charter some fishing trips. There is some shopping and eateries a block away. There are some nice golf courses about 15-20 minutes dirve.

The condo rooms were nice and it was great to be able to park the car right below the condo and walk right up to our room. We had a screened in balcony w/ ceiling fan and with a beach view... this was also very relaxing to sit there and just stare out at the water and listen to the surf. You have to pay extra for mid-week maid service... this was a bit odd... you dont even get a basic set of fresh towels?

My favorite part was just about every morning at low tide... you could walk way out into the water on the sandbars to find shells and all the different kinds of birds would come in to feed on the small bait fish trapped by the low tide. It was beautiful (both sight and sound)

Would I go to Marco Island again? Probably not... but I usually dont do repeat vacations... I like to mix it up with something new everytime. Been there... seen it... it was nice... now move on to the next location. There was nothing really spectacular enough to bring me back again to Marco Island.

We stayed in this accommodation as a timeshare exchange, and were extremely disappointed. It is no match for it's sister resort The Charter Club of Marco Island just along the road.

We found the reception staff quite unhelpful, and not able to answer even simple questions, what made this worse was they didn't even try to find out answers.

We had a first floor apartment the 1st week but had to move to a 2nd floor appartment for the second week of our stay, which was not ideal and not what we had requested at the time of booking as we had a disabled member of the party who cannot manage steps. When we asked at reception for them to change this the response was that we would have to pay again if we wanted a 1st floor room as we had been allocated a 2nd floor apartment and that was all they would offer us. Our move was further hindered as they locked us out of our 1st apartment while we were trying to move, not at all a satisfactory situation.

Finally, I would add that the apartment was not as clean as any of the others we have stayed in. We don't expect full maid service but we have never before stayed anywhere where unless you pay extra ($30 per day) you don't even get basic mid week cleaning, usually you at least get a change of towels and clean sheets!! Here you could only change towels on 2 mornings a week, by taking them to housekeeping, in our experience you can usually take your sheets for changing any morning you wish, but they are changed as a matter of course mid week.

All in all a great holiday in a great resort but we would think twice before staying in this accommodation again.

Great place. We had a two bedroom suite overlooking the pool. The rooms have large balconies and the rooms are very nice and roomy. Our room was not handicapped accessible, as we had to walk up stairs, so if you need one be sure to call ahead and reserve one.

Also make sure you keep a lookout for the place, it's hidden and the driveway is shared with another resort.

As Ahhnold says....."I'll be back!"

This is not the first time that we had stayed at this Resort, last time being 11 years ago. When we visited this resort the week of August 8-12 we all enjoyed our visit and had a great time, especially the children.
The Resort has not change much, still is very clean and well maintain, we had an Ocean View two bedroom 2 bath apartment and everything in it was picture perfect. We all enjoyed the beach very much, they offer a variety of water sports such as waverunners, sailing, parasailing, and much more, also loungechairs rentals. One night we even went to the Movie theather which is only 2 blocks away for the Resort (is a small familly owned Movie theather, with a restaurant inside, and you can order and eat your food while watching your movie.).
We are now making plans for our return in the near future.

Spending Thanskgiving week at Club Regency is the most enjoyable Thanksgivings we have experienced. You can eat your dinner in your unit, on the beach or off the sun deck and look at the sunset. The kitchen was more than adequate to make a Thanksgiving meal.

All units are two bedroom with a TV in both bedrooms and the living room. The pool and sauna area are beautifully landscaped. The new Weber gas grills are top of the line and placed on a deck over looking the pool.

Being one of the only two story buildings on the huge, white, clean beach, gives the resort a very quaint feeling. When you have had your fill of watching the dolphins jump out of the water you can enjoy the lighted tennis courts, chuffle board and a basketball hoop. The selection of near by golf courses is such that you could golf a different course every day of the week and still have others to try the next time you vacation at Club Regency.

Having vacationed throughout the United States, Club Regency is one of the best. Whether you want a quite vacation or an action filled vacation with plenty of nightlife and restaurants, this is the place to be.
