“Quiet comfort”

We spent one night here. It was a very convenient halfway house when travelling from Dublin to Kerry. Whilst the decor is slightly dated, the comfort is perfect. We had a good sized ground floor room with a double bed - there was an additional single bed. The ensuite bathroom had the most powerful shower I have experienced. The house is set back from the road so we did not hear any traffic. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice and our hosts were very welcoming. There is also a good half-mile walk at the back of the property to a fishing lake. Beware there is a railway beyond the lake with an unmanned crossing.

We stayed at Ballagmore country house for our base on a weeks golfing holiday. The accommodation is excellent with very clean, warm and quiet rooms with t.v, tea and coffee and comfortable beds and great bathroom. Breakfast is excellent with cereals, fruit, toast and cooked breakfast a must! Parking is very easy and the entrance is always locked so you feel safe at all times. The location is perfect for touring with many destinations not far away(10 golf courses within an hour) 10/10

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent. 2 rooms are at ground level if you want to avoid stairs.

We had a lovely short visit at the Country House - the owner was very welcoming even when we showed up on 30 minutes notice. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was also spacious and clean - the shower was one of the largest we used while in Ireland. In the morning I took a walk down the country lane to a small pond and watched the cows graze in the mist. Then back to the house for a wonderful, huge breakfast. A very easy 4 minute drive to the M7 and back on our way to Dublin from Dingle. Parking is bountiful right in front of the house. Everything was easy and pleasant - a happy memory.

What a great B&B! My husband and I are touring Ireland and slept in many B&B. We got this one by chance, as we did not have anything booked for the night. A great welcome, chat with the owners, we even had some tea and snack made for us as we arrived later in tne night. Rooms are big and comfortable. And what about the breakfast... The best stuffed croissant ever! I recommend highly this B&B!

Stayed at this lovely country house whilst my husband searched for his Irish roots. The rooms were really comfortable and had everything you could possibly need, the beds were so soft. Carol, the host was really helpful and made a fantastic breakfast. I would definitely recommend it!

Making the trip to work on Birr Rally , we were very fortunate to be recomended by a friend Ballaghmore as an overnight , which was ideally located to the stage in Ahadoe . The hospitality of Carole as a host is what Irish B and B s should aspire to . The location of course is ideal , adjacent to the Borris on Ossary exit off the motorway and close to Roscrea in a very atractive rural area.As for the holsome breakfast , it kept me going all day .

My husband & I returned on 11/21/2012 from our second wonderful trip to Ireland, during which we stayed here at this outstanding b & b for the second time!
Honestly, our overall experiences with the b & b's in Ireland has not been terrific, yet both times our stay at Ballaghmore House has been wonderful!
The owners/hosts Carole & Joe are kind, generous, thoughtful, helpful & very friendly and the facility is far superior to most of those we have come across in our two 10-day trips to Ireland, first in June 2008 and now again November 2012.
I first read about this terrific b & b in an article in early 2008 in the LA Times Travel section when I was planning our first Ireland trip. We were so pleased with our planned 2 night stay here in 2008 that when one of the other b & b's we had scheduled fell far short of our expectations, we called Carole & she happily accommodated us for a 3rd night on that 2008 trip.
After this recent trip, we were again soooo very pleased with our stay here (and so very unimpressed with the other b & b we were sposed to stay at on this trip!) that we plan to spend an entire week at Ballaghmore on our next planned trip in 2017! We hope that Carole & Joe will still be there, continuing to make Ballaghmore house the best b & b experience in Ireland! (at least in our opinion!)
The rooms are clean, spacious, well appointed, the breakfasts delicious & plentiful & made to order and honestly the hosts are just terrific folks to spend time talking to, they have/have had such interesting lives/careers & so knowledgable about the surrounding areas & sites and yet they are not intrusive of your personal time/space either...just the perfect combination for us! The location is terrific as well, quiet and set far back from the road, yet easy to come & go from and we just love the little town of Roscrea which is about 5 minutes drive down the road.
My only hesitancy to writing this review is that too many others will discover this wonderful b & b in its outstanding central location (within a 5 minute-2 hour drive of most anything you might want to see in almost all of the country!), we just hope there will still be "room at the inn" for us the next time we go! And no I am not going to tell you which room I think is the best, because I want that one for myself when I return :)

Room Tip: I think they are all nice! Think there are just 8 or 10 total so I advise to call at least a couple...
