Even though this is a moderate property, we found the staff to be very accommodating whenever possible. From check-in to check-out, our encounters with Alicia, Margaret and Tonya where very warm and welcoming. Thanks for recommending the Oaks Restaurant Tonya! It was great!! Thank you also to Margaret for you "do it all with a smile" attitude as she handled the front desk as well as clean and replenish the breakfast bar!

Reserved the upgraded king suite with the jacuzzi tub, microwave and fridge. On check-in, no microwave or fridge. Room had a moldy, musty smell. Tub had mold in the jets. Upgraded room and couldn't use the amenities we paid for. Had to wait until the next day for the fridge, microwave and the tub to be bleached. In-room safe didn't not work as it needed a new battery. Once the tub was cleaned, we filled it with water and then knew why the room was moldy smelling....the tub leaked a majority of the water under the carpet near the entrance to the room. Also, the walls/floors are thin and we could hear everything that was going on in the room above us; it sounded like a herd of elephants stomping around (not good at 1:30 am). The hotel room key entry (security entry) lock was broken and the door had to be propped open with a chunk of wood. The staff was friendly enough in getting the issues resolved but they should have offered a discount upon check-out.
Thank you to you and your husband both for submitting reviews of our hotel. Because of this we have changed the way we do preventative maintenance to our Jacuzzi room to assure that this doesn't happen again. I'm sorry that this unfortunate incident happened during your stay. We hope to see you in the future to show how great our place is and how well the new preventative maintenance plan is working.
Have stayed here many times before and is a fair value compared to the other hotels in the area. Reported the smell of gas in the lobby on Thursday evening. It was five hours before Fire/Rescue were called to investigate, finding a major leak in the boiler. The hotel was not evacuates and there was no notice to the guests of any issues, other than emergency vehicles. Friday morning there was no hot water and repairs were being made. Friday night I was informed hot water is not a requirement by the State of Florida, meaning I was not going to see a credit for the inconvenience. Correct, Saturday check out was full rate.
One last issues, they hardly ever answer the desk phone when calling from outside.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our hotel. We do value feedback from our guests. Propane in the area was turned off by the city for safety measures only, because of a gas smell in the area. All staff are trained in safety and security and know what to do in case of a real emergency. We take the safety of our guest to the highest extreme! Sometimes unfortunate things beyond our control do happen. And I do sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have cost you.
