Underhill Cottage

My boyfriend and I only stayed for one night, but would love to go back for longer and we have already recommended this to friends and family.
A quaint little country cottage in a picturesque rural village, Linda and her daughter were so welcoming. Advised us of walks in the area, and even got me some pain killers when I arrived with a head ache. Nothing was too much, and the cooked breakfast was very tasty. It was impressive in size too, unfortunately my boyfriend now expects every breakfast he has to be of the same standard...

My girlfriend and I recently stayed for three nights at this lovely quaint cottage in this quintessential English village. Linda (the owner) was extremely welcoming and hospitable and cooks a mean full English breakfast on her Aga, but a full selection of breakfasts were offered as well.

Our room was a great size with a big comfy bed and all the amenities you would expect, including an en suite, TV with Sky and a kettle with tea and coffee.

To top it off, opposite the cottage there is a proper country pub with lovely warm open fires, where we enjoyed an evening drink and which also serves a range of good food.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

This 300 year old cottage has a welcoming feel the moment you step through the door and it is matched by the welcome from its owner and Jess the dog.Nothing is too much trouble and the breakfasts match anything served in a top hotel - with the added bonus that they are cooked on an Aga! The carefully thought out decor throughout the cottage perfectly matches its age and provides a step back in time but with all modern amenities. If you don't have a reason to visit South Devon, then find one and book into Underhill Cottage - you won't want to leave.

It's small yet lovely cottage in a perfect location for the town. Inside is cozy and inviting, and reassuringly familiar. Linda (the owner) is so nice, very helpful and the perfect host. Stay here for a quiet and relaxing stay in a quaint English country village. Top marks.

Perfectly located cottage in a lovely village, I had a two night stay in February and loved the walks and local amenities. The cottage was warm and cosy just as I expected and the hearty breakfast was just what I needed after a restful night sleep. I really appreciated the owner's knowledge of the local area and her hospitality during my stay. I hope to return for another visit later this year and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

I was working locally and have stayed here before, it is well placed for the Riviera as well as lots of other places, the Estuary, Dartmoor, etc without the hectic pace of Torquay. Lovely old cottage opposite a great pub, the owner makes you feel special with lots of little treats and the attention to detail is worthy of some much higher starred Hotels. Home cooked breakfast, freshly laid eggs, home made jam and marmalade. Room is large, cosy and well equipped, nice bathroom and shower, very peaceful night, Pub opposite is also cosy and friendly, local gossip and good food, all round relaxation.

Room Tip: Younger (and older) visitors will love the owners dog Jess.
