In Miami there are very few true Italian places. Il Gabbiano tries its best. The ambiance is very nice and the location perfect. The service was excellent and we were allowed to linger and enjoy our friends company without having to rush. The food was nicely prepared. I had the branzzino and it was done correctly. The grilled octopus appetizer was also good. The shenanigans with the balsamic vinegar and parmesan cheese only work if you have never been to Italy. But then again, most equate Italian food with parmesan and balsamic!
