“The best stay always”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

This was our forth time at Epic. The hotel was fully booked do to a baseball game. We booked a king size bedroom but were told that only two queens bedrooms were available. We asked for the manager and she was simply impeccable. When we told that Epic was always our choice to stay in Miami, she instantly upgraded us to an amazing suite. After that, what else can we say. They really know how to make a guest happy.
Just pone downsize - they restricted continental breakfast to fruits and breads. Hot dishes, like omelete and scrambled eggs. That was new for us and not very nice. But overall, it is still my first choice in Miami, always!

Fourth time at EPIC? That’s some pretty EPIC love you are showing us! We are so glad that we can always provide you with the best stay. Our Front Office team really knows how to go above and beyond to make sure your stay is amazing. It’s good to know that we are still your first choice in Miami.

So…now the real question…when are you coming back for a fifth time? We can’t wait!

This is one of the outstanding newer hotels in the United States and at a fair though moderately expensive price. It is so superb because each and very hotel staff member cares about each client personally. By one's 2nd day of their stay, most staff members know their name, likes and dislikes.

The location is on a lovely bay just a few blocks from the heart of downtown Miami within walking distance of fine restaurants (as well as the two within the hotel) water and land attractions and the American Airlines arena for sports fans.

The rooms are modern without being gadgety and Epic has a superb spa.

Room Tip: water view if available any floor above 10 with balcony if possible.

Wow, what an amazing compliment, “one of the outstanding newer hotels in the United States.” Thank you so much for sharing this with us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the personal interactions with our hotel’s staff. You know, we truly are lucky to be in such a great location by the bay, great restaurants, and the American Airlines Arena.

We can’t wait to see you again soon!

We stayed at epic in february and it was a pleasant experience for us. This hotel is modern, clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was amazing views to the downtown, Byscayne bay and brickell. Loved our stay here with great people. We would back to stay here again. We loved the experience at area 31 restaurant and zuma has the best food in Miami.

Room Tip: High floors have the best views

We are so flattered that you loved how modern our hotel is and all of the views of Miami. But, most importantly, we are glad that you enjoyed the “great people” at the hotel and at our restaurants. It always makes us feel fantastic to hear about experiences like this one!

Let us know whenever you want to come back!

I was staying at another hotel in Miami Beach but rented my last night in Miami at Epic because a friend was getting married there and i regret not staying the entire trip at the Epic. I got a corporate discount from my job and paid the same as the other hotel in Miami beach which the room was a quarter in size compared to the epic. The hotel is luxurious and the rooms are very big, and modern. I got an excellent view to the pool and to a river. Although i did not sleep there because we left to the airport at 4 am, my wife did took a nap and said the bed were very comfortable. I would definitely go back and stay longer.

Room Tip: I had the a pool view room 2308 and there was a DJ playing in the afternoon and could hear the music...

It’s all in the name, and we truly do strive to be EPIC. I am glad you made the switch over to EPIC for your last night so that you could experience our downtown luxury experience. The only problem is that you didn’t have a chance to stay with us long enough! Next time you are in Miami, let us take care of you for some more time

Can’t wait to have you back!

This hotel is downtown on the banks of Biscayne Bay wonderful views from the 21st floor. The hotel is well equipped with all of yours needs and nothing is to much trouble for the staff you only have to ask once. On the 16th floor there is a pool bar and resturant and entertainment area.

Room Tip: Go for the highest floor available

this hotel is top notch and offers great rates to IN touch members. I like hanging by the pool and even when crowed Oscar, Carlos, Juan and Alex make you feel like their only customer.
Larry at the front desk was supper friendly and helpful though he has to learn about vodkas.
Great access to multiple restaurants in downtown and Brickell.

Room Tip: City View rooms can be much quieter

“Top Notch,” "Great Offers,” we are blushing! Thanks so much for this incredible review. We are so glad that you could take advantage of our exclusive In Touch offers! It is clear that Oscar, Carlos, Juan, and Alex did a fantastic job at the pool, they always do! I’ll let them know how much you appreciated it. It also sounds like Larry at the Front Desk really took care of you.

Hope to have you back again soon!

We stayed at the Epic in Miami for 2 weeks in May 2014. Obviously staying there for 2 weeks we saw how the place operates and could see all sides and experienced some inconsistencies.

It was a return visit and it did not disappoint. The staff are great and several offer an incredible service to the guests. However they don't all offer the same level. Not always bad, just not as good as those that offer brilliant.

These are highlighted in all areas. Around the pool Oscar and Juan are excellent, attentive and meticulous. When they took their rest days the guys that came in were below par and did very little to assist guests.

At breakfast most staff were fabulous, others you practically had to chase round the room to get a cup of coffee.

House keeping service was always ok but some days you got water, some you didnt. Just niggly but when others offer perfection then the little things show up after a while.

That said if something was ever wrong it was put right very quickly.

The hotel caters mostly for business and short break leisure travellers. The clientele were all well behaved, all hip and a mix of nationalities. Kids are made extremely welcome but there isnt much for them to do. We were presented with lovely gifts for them on arrival and these were essential in occupying them. We did feel a bit self conscious around the pool deck about having kids playing in the pool in an adult environment. There is a wine hour every evening in the lobby which is lovely (also great for people watching) but it offers children only a glass of water. This was fine but be aware this not an occasion for the whole family.

I recommend the corner suites but if you get the choice go for the views down brickell rather than facing north. Our room was great but faced onto the pool deck at the opposite hotel (marriot) and they were quite noisy with evening functions.

We hired a car and had to use the expensive valet parking ($37/night). usually very good but on one occasion we had a 30 minute wait for our car.

Food was always of a high standard but breakfast can hang around so ask for fresh and they will make for you pretty quickly.

The surrounding area has lots of good restaurants - Toro Toro at the intercontinental a must along with beer n burgers in brickell village. Avoid Pizzarium and Pericones. Both sucked. Very close to shops for whatever you need but dont stray too far north after dark, it gets rough very quickly.

Would like to give a shout out to the concierge service who sorted Heat tickets for us. Miami Heat play their games about 10-15 minutes walk along the road. Safe to walk.

Lastly - THE POOL - The pool was freezzzinnng. It was impossible for anyone to get in. The kids tried valiantly but we dont think we saw an adult spend more than 2 mins the water the whole of our stay. We asked several times for it to be heated, we got several different answers as to why it was cold. Just dont expect to get in the water if you stay here.

To summarise the Epic is genuinely a brilliant hotel in an excellent location with many super touches and feeling of hospitality. There are few inconsistencies in staff training which can frustrate and the pool needs urgent attention.

Room Tip: Corner suites looking down brickell avenue offer the very best views

Thanks so much for taking the time to provide us with some great feedback about your two week stay. I am glad that much of our staff provided brilliant service, especially Oscar and Juan at the pool! They truly know the definition of hospitality. It also seems like you had the chance to enjoy our nightly wine hour and welcome bags for the kids.

Over the entirety of your stay, it sounds like you experienced some service that was not flawless. I appreciate your honest feedback and look forward to correcting this on property. It’s great to hear that even with a few hiccups, you still felt comforted by our “super touches and feeling of hospitality.”

We can’t wait to provide the perfect experience on your next stay!
