We enjoyed our three night stay at JW Marquis before going on a cruise. The hotel is beautiful with fabulous large rooms. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to an amazing suite. We just loved it. It was so quite and you could just relax and enjoy the views. The bathroom was something else with the large windows beside the bath, so you could soak away and enjoy the view at the same time. We enjoyed a light meal in the restaurant the first day we arrived and there are lots of other restaurants close by. We enjoyed lunch at La Dinette 202 SE 1st St a French farmhouse style bistro just five minutes walk from the hotel. They have wonderful tasty sandwiches and soup. the hotel is very central for walking to the shops in Flagler St or walking to Mary Brickell village or Bayside Market. However the best thing about this hotel is the staff. They are friendly, charming and helpful, without being pompous. We encountered a problem while there (nobody at the hotels fault), and we were helped to resolve our problem by a caring Asst Rooms Manager. We look forward to staying here again when next cruising out of Miami.

Attended a conference and while room and bathroom were nice, good size and good amenities; it was service that in general was average at best.
Ordered room service for breakfast with the door knob menu and got a call 30 minutes before delivery to confirm order (it was cereal and coffee) ... yet it was over 20 minutes late in the delivery - at which point I had cancelled it. There was no apology - just an 'Ok'.
The elevators can take close to 10 minutes waiting time during peak times - and they will arrive full on many occasions.
Restaurant service (db Bistro) was OK - we sat at the bar and the bartender was more concerned on stocking the bar rather than taking care of customers.

Our room had a great view. Room is very nice, great bathroom, spatious and comfotable. Very elegant hotel. Good breakfast. Location is convenient. Very short drive or long walk to Perez Art Museum. Very beautiful bay view.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view.

This hotel is in a beautiful location, and we were lucky to get a corner room on the 22nd floor with a 'to die for' view of Biscayne Bay where it joins the river.

The room is well appointed with a most comfortable bed. the staff were all extremely friendly. what was impressive is that they seemed genuine - not the stiff, forced "Have a nice day".

In this downtown area you can walk to several restaurants, but we had a car. this is the real center of Miami. Perhaps for this reason the restaurants were quiet. we did not eat in their formal dining room, but had breakfast and light dinners there.

We had one little problem with noise one night but they did investigate and although we never found out what it was, it stopped in time for us to get a good nights rest.

The weekend rates are very reasonable and the mid week rates what you might expect for this level of hotel.

They have the best hotel gym I have come across plus outside is terrific for walking or jogging under the trees in one direction and towards the park in the other.

Room Tip: 2201 is perfect

I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel for a gala event. Being a platinum member we were immediately upgraded to a suite with a lovely view of the bay. The front desk staff was very friendly and attentive. There are several restaurants on the property including Daniel ball's restaurant. The food was fantastic. This is a must stay hotel if you are in downtown miami for leisure or business.
