It was a bit difficult/confusing to make a reservation online as I had wanted to make 2 massage reservations at the same day and time and the server would only let me do this if I created 2 accounts, which was a bit irritating. I also did not get a confirmation email for my massage (but my husband did) so I had to check with the spa to see if they had my reservation once we checked into the hotel. The spa itself is very nicely appointed and the massages were great. I'm not sure if it's just this spa or if every spa in FL does not provide receipts for insurance purposes but we were unable to get receipts to submit to our health insurance co. which was a bit of a downer.

I will start off by stating my wife and I absolutely love the Epic Hotel Miami. After living here for over 4 years this is still our top relaxation - getaway spot. We decided to try out the Exhale Spa during our most recent visit, and we both felt like it was an afterthought. The services themselves were great. We both had scrubs, pool-side massages, and pedicures. Staff was excellent. Very friendly, very personable. The Zen waiting room, the locker rooms, and the Hammam room were disappointing. We frequent spas when we travel, and because of this we are sensitive to the details. The locker rooms needed to be maintained better - Steam room was only large enough for one person, the Zen waiting room was closed off with a curtain and not very inviting, and you could hear the men's locker room door slam every time guests entered or exited. The seats were low to the ground, and not very comfortable. Seating was also very limited. There were teas in the Zen room, but being it was dark and not very intuitive it left much to be desired. Neither were there light snacks to enjoy while waiting on your next service. We were not real sure of the Hammam room concept, for it was not as hot as a steam room, but instead more like a warming room. Just not sure of the concept. As the title states the Exhale Spa has the potential to be on par with the rest of the Epic Hotel from the Club Floor to the Pool Side Cabanas.
But for the moment, the management may need to rethink the layout.

We are here or a long wkend and made appts for a 90 min deep tissue for my hubby and acupuncture for me. Lots of services to choose from and the spa is very comfortable. Krista, my acupuncturist, was amazing. Perfect for a single treatment or more and the option of a treatment out by the pool, if you want it. I enjoyed it.

We stayed at the Epic Hotel in Miami during our October 2011 vacation. The Exhale spa is located in the hotel on the 16th floor. The facility is very beautiful and very functional. They have a full workout facility, with weights, treadmills, and other equipment; not one of those hotel gyms, but a real gym. They also have workout/class studios, that have scheduled Yoga, Pilates and other types of workouts, everyday.

The hotel is actually part of a Residence, so the residents also use the facilities, which is what makes it a Full-fledged facility and not just a hotel room with 3 pieces of equipment.

On the lower floor, the Spa is located, and it is another large facility with massage rooms, and what is called a Hammam, for Coed use, and a Sauna in the Men's and Women's locker rooms. The Hammam, is essentially a Steam Room, but the temperature is regulated so that it does not get as hot as a true steam room, thereby, enabling more hydration control. It was interesting, but I enjoy the real heat, so did not spend a lot of time in there. It was very large and well appointed though, with room for approximately 10 or more people.

Everything in the Spa was first class, the locker rooms are pristine, and have every amenity you could possibly want. I neglected to ask where I could get the body wash, and regretted it, because it was wonderfully subtle and very refreshing.

The Spa has an extensive menu of massages, including Acupuncture. My wife or I, had never had acupuncture before and had some areas we thought would benefit, so signed up for it. In a nutshell, Fantastic results, and, the Therapist, Krista, was outstanding. To begin the session, she goes through a detailed history of your health and any complaints you may have, discusses them thoroughly enough to understand and ask follow up questions to make sure it is clear, then explains what areas she will work on that will benefit your specific issues. She then does the Acupuncture and follows up with a wonderful massage. I wasn't able to feel the results right away, but by the end of the session, it felt like a weight was lifted off of my body in the areas I complained about. It was the most memorable part of our trip. I highly recommend getting in touch with the Spa and requesting Krista for a session, she also does other massage therapies without Acupuncture.

Krista and the Exhale Spa team were very professional and very helpful, when I get back to Miami, I will definitely head over there to enjoy another great session with them.
