Palmeiras Beach Club at Grove Isle

Grove Isle is the best kept secret in Florida! We went for a weekend get-away, and the only thing that could have been better was the weather! The staff was very accomodating and attentive. The food and service both at Baleen (the restaurant) and room service was excellent. The staff at the pool bar were exceptional. The view from the hotel over looking the bay helped top off the weekend. I probably would not bring kids there, although if they are young enough, it may work. But if you are looking for a perfect relaxing weekend of great food, drink and a view...then this is the place. We didn't leave the isle the entire weekend. Everything we wanted was right there. I would say that the awesome customer service really made the difference. Can't wait to return!

In April of 2004, my family and I had dinner at Baleen at Grove Isle, while staying in Key Biscayne. The food was very good and the musical entertainment was a very enjoyable and exotic sitar performance.

In April of 2005, we stayed for two nights and were very disappointed. Our visit did not compare at all to our first impression. The lobby is very attractive as are the rooms. However, the dining left much to be desired and was extremely overpriced. The water glasses had pink algae floating in them. The waitstaff, in general, didn't speak English or understand requests.

Due to rain, the pool and poolside dining was closed and their was nothing else to do with two teenagers. So, we drove our rental car to Merrick Park and went shopping and had a wonderful meal at Mundo. We will not return to Grove Isle. It is not the five-star property Noble House claims it to be.

We were visiting Miami as part of our vacation to the U.S. which included New york, Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Colorado.
The Grove Isle was the "find" of the trip. We booked it at the last minute whilst we were in New York. After the usual "lost" journey from Miami airport(please give rental cars sat nav!) we arrived at 11pm and were starving. The bell boy sugested we drive to Coco walk (some three miles away) and check out "The Cheesecake Factory"..what can I say.. we ate there three more times.
Our first full day was July 4th and of course, the hotel was very busy and a little overcrowded. However, the day after we practically had the whole place to ourselves...great! My wife enjoyed the Spa, we all loved the location.. families will love the security. (You enter the island via security controled barriers). It has to be noted that Coconut Grove proper feels very safe which was a surprise being only 10 minutes from Miami. The rooms were quite large and enjoy good views (both the marina and bay views) a 3rd floor room is probably best, as the palm trees are still growing and block the view of lower floors. We cannot fault any of the staff during our stay all the staff from Car Valet to Manager were fantastic..Well done.
I can only concur with the previous positive reviews.
We will return.

Do yourself a favor and stay another place. The staff is rude. The heat didn't work. I ordered room service. They had 4 entrees available and the one I ordered was not available. Room service acted like I had really put them out to even ask for it. Really go somewhere else.

Grove Isle Resort is laid-back, relaxing and luxurious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was a real treat and good value for money.

Rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, good views of the bay and even have TVs in the bathrooms.

There is a good gym, internet facility on the first floor, and buzzy bar for pre-dinner drinks.

If you book direct you may be offered the 'Breafast by the Bay' package. Take it as it was cheaper than room only and the breakfast menu is fabulous. Homemade granola, fresh grapefruit juice and oatmeal were all delicious. (Note to Brits at breakfast, David the Yorkshire-born waiter is very friendly.)

Pool not as big as it looks in the pics, but very tastfully done, lots of sunbeds, parasols. Nice, chilled out atmosphere although this was interupted at times during the day by loudish music, which the barmen wouldn't turn down.

Food was very nice in Baleen (the hotel restaurant), it's worth pre-booking in the morning for a table on the waterfront. Quite pricey but worth it. No need for a starter as you get a loaf of bread to nibble on.

The staff leave you to your own devices, but you do have to ask to find out what's on offer/where things are/ask for pool towels etc. I had to remind them for breakfast/cocktail tokens. And cancel the paper if you don't want it as they charge it to your account.

Easy to get onto mainland - Coco Walk, a cab is $7, not loads of shops but a variety of bars and restaurants. Green Street is worth a look, huge portions and lots of outdoor seating.

I just want to thank all the employees of Grove Isle for helping us through the hurricane. I think that the true test of a 5 star hotel is when a crisis hits and these people are outstanding. The storm hit full force at around 8pm as we were in the dining room and power went out. The chefs and staff worked by candle light and made sure our dinners arrive hot and perfect. We were given candles, water and snacks before bed. Towels to stop the storm water from coming in were handed out. The next morning a hot buffet breakfast was served. Power came back on Friday at 7:30 pm. The kitchen was closed but they made sure we had a boxed dinner. I want to say thank you for all everybody did for us. This was not the first time we stayed there nor will it be the last.

We arrived after an encounter of the Car Hire kind of nightmare, ourselves, our four children and our baby girl, not a small group and quite a handful.

From the minute we arrived the conceirge were fantastic, our rooms were upgraded, ours had a huge bed and children doubled up in the twin bedded adjoining room. Amelias cot was lovely, a real cot with bumper and clean linen blanket etc. The sheets were fabulous, the toiletries smelled divine and the coffee wonderful.

Although the Jacuzzi was out of order the swimming pool was immaculate and it was fun to be at eye level with the bay, pelicans in view all hours and some amazing lizards. I loved the pool side beds and sofa, complete with sunshades, altogether as good as the photos on the website,

THE SPA, this is heaven, our eleven year old had her first manicure and I had a hot rock pedicure, both of us were treated by Christine who was top class. The whole experience including the herbal teas in individual silk bags was bliss just what a mother of 5 children needs.

We had breakfast outside and enjoy a variety of frozen drinks.

We will be back thank you all the staff who made our 4 days relaxing and memorable.
