I stayed here for business last week; staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Excellent location because its right across the street from a metro-mover stop (which is free) , and is within minutes from the beach (metromover does not go there-its for a small downtown area). Room and bathroom were clean and I would definitely stay here again.

At check in told there was a $3 tip per day for the maid (isn't it up to me to tip?) the water pressure in the bathroom is horrible. Internet ($11-17 per day) didn't work on my laptop had to pay $7 to print a ticket in the business center.

Not a bad place to stay if you are on a one nighter before a cruise but they gouge conference attendees.

A good business hotel. Quick stay for a work conference. Stayed in one king room with city view. Very nice, spacious room and quiet. Clean. Very comfy bed.
Food was also fine/good. Didn't use the gym, but there is a small pool on a rooftop, near an even smaller cafe. Starbucks in lobby but it was very crowded in the morning.
Around the hotel is a harbor area, nice for walking around, but not much else around the hotel. Front desk staff ranged from cold to friendly to very helpful.
All in all, would suggest that if you need to be downtown, stay here. Otherwise, pick somewhere closer to the beach!

I am from Miami, but for mother’s day I decide to stay at hotel to make a surprise for my wife and was one the best weekend ever with my family. Everything was perfect, Location, hotel ambient, staff( in special for the concierge guys, because they helped me to my dreams come through) and the brunch on Sunday for mother’s day.
I am 100% sure this is one the best hotels in Miami and I am planning to stay at hotel on my birthday for the great experience I had.
Thanks

Can't find the right word to describe my fufilling and enjoyable experience at this property. First off, the concierge and front desk attendants were courteous and friendly and always had a smile on their face. The bellstand staff was very helpful and were always very attentive. The room was beautiful, relaxing, impecable and very comfortable. Oh and I can't forget the view It was priceless. I loved everything about this hotel from the check in, to the food, to the ameneties and the luxuries. I found pricing to be fair. Most certainley i will recommend this hotel.

This is one of those great hotels that lets you combine business with pleasure, with a great business center and excellent rooms (particularly if you are an Ambassador member and get a bay view room).

My room was very spacious, super-clean and with an impecable bathroom. It was very quiet and relaxing, the view was great and the bed was world class, as normally expected in any Intercontinental property.

The concierge service was really good to us, getting us a table at the VIP section in LIV (down at the Fountainbleu) without much prior notice.

There are a couple of downsides, including a very expensive parking lot (or pay-to-park lot across the street), and a valet parking that tends to take a couple minutes longer than usual when getting your car out front. It's also on the pricey side of options in MIA, but weekend stays are more accessible if you plan to bring your significant other to a business trip and stay a couple extra days.

Room Tip: Ask for a bay view

Dear Ruleman,

We are glad you had a great stay with us; the perks of Ambassador Members are quite memorable. We are happy to know that our Concierge was able add a dose of relaxation and fun to your business travel stay. At times due to demand, the delay in valet service may occur but we continue to strive to make our guests’ stays as comfortable as possible. We hope you will be visiting us soon and please let us know if there is anything we can do to assist you in planning your next stay at the InterContinental Miami.

Additional charges mainly including bathroom items, the obvious overpriced items in the mini bar, charges per person per day (?!?!?!?!) for use of the fitness center, and charges for valet parking. There are several parking garages in the area a few blocks away, but they are just a little bit below the advertised price for valet at the hotel and you don't get the luxury of having someone bring your car to you. Lots of choices available should you decide not to partake in valet though.

As for the hotel itself, we stayed for an extended weekend in April, in town for a Heat game. Awesome location downtown for really easy walking distance access to the arena as well as several other key places of interest including some shopping areas and restaurants and a great hybrid indoor / outdoor mall. There are a few drug stores nearby, all within walking distance, in case you need to pick up some additional items. No fridge in our hotel room, but we did have a great view of the harbor due to upgrading our room to a harbor view for a slight ($5 per night) fee. Didn't try out the restaurant or other services at the hotel, but our room was comfortable. REALLY thin walls though so if the party next to you is louder than normal, you will hear everything.

Great courteous staff, our room was cleaned each day even though we got out of our room really late a few times, and some of the staff members provided us with good tips on places in the area as well as tips for South Beach. With the exception of some of the ridiculous charges for items within the room and services in the hotel, we enjoyed our stay and were glad to be in an area with some things going on. Recommended just as long as you note the caveats mentioned above and take them into consideration.

Room Tip: Several "upgrade" options available in case you want to enhance your room or overall stay...
