After some issues with flight cancellations, I was offered a stay at the Sofitel Miami. Clearly, this is not the Sofitel that I am used to. This location is not as upscale and exclusive as the others. It does look like an old hotel that was upgraded with nice furniture and fixtures. The structures of the halls and rooms leaves much to be desired. Check in was efficient. Front desk and concierge staff were very helpful. Gym and pool were nice and well maintained. It is a good place to stay over if you are overnighting for a cruise, business, etc. Ordered out for authentic Cuban food Casa Juan Restaurant. They delivered. Had breakfast in the hotel the following morning. Breakfast was amazing. Would recommend for short overnight stay while in Miami.

The staff is very friendly; but the hotel as such need a refurbishment.

This is not the Sofitel New York, Sofitel Chicago or like any other Sofitel I have stayed in previously. It is a long way from being typical of the Sofitel brand. Feels like it used to be a Hilton that Sofitel have tried to upscale by adding upgraded furniture, but forgetting to update the bathroom and other amenities.

Friendly, helpful staff. Very comfortable bed with quality linens and great pillows. Free internet with reasonable speed. No bathrobes in the closet. No freebie shower gel. No face cloth in the bathroom.

Didn’t get what I was expecting for the $180 I paid. Probably worth $120 - $150. I will look elsewhere next time unless I can get a much better rate.

Room Tip: Go for the city and airport views, much more interesting than the lagoon views.

This elegant boutique hotel is full-service in a gracious way. European in origin, the staff is polite and friendly. The concierge went above and beyond helping us arrange our international boarding passes, even to the point of calling the airline. We watched a glorious orange and red sunset from the quiet pool (a waterfall masks the airplanes). Our room was tasteful and lovely, and the breakfast delivered to it came on time, was delicious, and affordable. We will seek a Sofitel in every city we travel to, and hope for more in the USA.

Room Tip: We overlooked the pool where the brilliant sunset was gorgeous.

Less a Sofitel, more a dated Mercure. We stayed here for one night after flying from Washington. The room was tired and while the furnishings were from the Sofitel catalogue, they looked like they had been discarded from a better class hotel. The bathroom was tidy, but old. Not a five star hotel, more a 3.5 star. Disappointing for this usually luxury brand. On the bright side, we still got the macaroons and a-club silver welcome drinks on check-in.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Sofitel Miami. Both stays were relaxing comfortable and completely enjoyable. Location to the airport is convenient and airplane noise is minimal. Pool and deck area comfortable and relaxing. Will plan on staying again.
