Was very nervous after reading some of these reviews as had not checked here before booking - what a great relief when greeted by pleasant and helpful staff! We were very early for check in and they had all three rooms ready for us at 10:30 am! Our rooms were clean, small, but really - it's a hotel people, I'm there to sleep. They are still doing renos, and from what I have seen - doing a great job! I know we will stay there again!

Couldn't shower because the valve for the shower came off in my hand when trying to turn it on. Bathtub was old and chipped and toilet was dirty. When front desk was told on checkout they said they were sorry to hear of our troubles. No apology, no compensation. Horrible customer service at breakfast with the hostess telling us we had to leave all our luggage out of our view. We refused and they reluctantly let us bring our luggage close to our table, but still didn't let us sit at the closest table to our luggage simply to prove a point. Overall the hotel was dated and marginally clean. This property is fantastically convenient and could be a gem with the proper management.

I would first like to start by apologizing for all the inconveniences you encountered. Our number one goal at the Miami international airport hotel is to provide superior service to our guest; we failed to do so with you and for that, we apologize.

We are happy to learn that you found our hotel to be practical and convenient. Our convenience is close to none, being located a few steps from all airport terminals.

We don't have much experience in staying at airport hotels. In our limited exposure the Fairmont at the Vancouver International Airport is the best and the Miami International Hotel is the worst. Granted management is working with a difficult property in a difficult location to begin with. The rooms and bathrooms are small, the hallways narrow and in some cases convoluted and and the overall decor dated and dowdy. Tough to improve without employing mass destruction. There are some simple things that could be done. There isn't much room for furniture but a reasonable desk and chair should be squeezed in. The current hassock that leaves the desk almost at eye level if you sit down simply will not do. Previously we enjoyed the sushi bar but that has been removed. A saving grace are the beds which are excellent and after all a good rest is what you are looking for. The hotel is currently being renovated and it certainly needs it.

It's so convenient ,obviously.
It isn't intended to be a resort hotel !
Room was very good, decent beds ,efficient a/c and shower.
Didn't dine here but had drinks and appetisers which were fine.
The concierge was hopeless,though. We asked about the bar and he said it was closed . He told us to go to the Bacardi bar,opposite, in the main airport terminal. We went across didn't like it so went back to him and asked whether the restaurant was open. He said it was. We asked whether it had a bar. He said it did.
Doh !

We apologize for the wrong information given by our concierge staff. I have made my Bell captain aware of situation and will address with employees.

Our hotel restaurant Top of the Port is open daily from 6:00am to 11:00pm.
Our hotel is currently under renovation, we have new and exciting upgrades being displayed in the months to come, and this includes a new Lobby bar and Sushi bar.

We were concerned about staying here after all the negative reviews. The convenience offered by being able to walk out of the hotel and be in the terminal out weighed the negatives. It is actually very similar in most ways (price, room size, noise levels, convenience) to the Delta Hotel at the Calgary airport. It was expensive but I checked surrounding hotels that we might consider and none were cheaper (most were more expensive) - it was a very busy travel time of year. We probably had an extra hour of sleep with not having to use a shuttle and account for scheduled departures and traffic and travel time.

The hotel provided us with what we asked for (a room on a high floor away from the elevator). They were nice enough when we checked in and out even though another flight had been cancelled and they were trying to accommodate people. Contrary to other reviews the room was very clean and the beds comfortable. It was small but we expected that. We were on the top floor so we could hear flights taking off and landing but not at a disturbing level and as well we were at the end of the corridor so there wasn't too much hallway noise. Hallway noise seems to be a fact of life in hotels as many people are too self centered to consider other residents when they make their way to and from their rooms.

They airport itself was similar to most of its age with not enough room for check in line ups and security and we would probably avoid it if we could for future travel. If we travel through MIA again however we wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

My wife and I booked this hotel a day before and after a Caribbean cruise. We choose the hotel because we didn't want the hassle of transferring to and from the airport to catch our international flights. The hotel was undergoing some renovations during our stay, which in my opinion, it desperately needed. The lobby and hallways where dirty and rundown however the room we has had recently been upgraded and was clean. As far as noise from the airport itself there was next to none. The problem with noise was guests in other rooms and constant door slamming and loud talking in the hallways. The house cleaning staff would start their rounds early opening and closing doors loudly,talking on their cell phones and yelling back and forth to each other. There is little soundproofing between rooms or between the hallway. A stay here beats being stretched out in an airport waiting area as the bed was comfortable. But I think the airport waiting area would be more peaceful.

This hotel is located in the airport! We booked our room on the hotel website so we were given free wifi and free breakfast the next morning. The wifi was ok but I had to keep signing back on!

Our room was nice. The shower was great. We were on the 4th floor. It was quiet and even though the bed was soft...and we like firmer beds... We were still able to sleep well. Our room was lacking glasses except for the cups in the coffee maker. Not a deal breaker but needed to be mentioned.
Our breakfast was very good. The potatoes were cooked to perfection without being greasy. We had the Top of the Port breakfast and we were very satisfied.
Yes, there was construction but except for only 2 elevators working it was not a big deal. I'm am sure when done..it will be great.
Would we stay here again? Yes, without a doubt!!
The location is unbeatable!!
