We stayed the first day of our trip, and after traveling around the state we came back to the Blue Moon for our last night. The hotel is right in the middle of the Art Deco area, convenient to the beach and a wonderful place to stay. The hotel staff are tops, especially Micaelle, who checked us in, made great recommendations for restaurants and took care of our every need. The rooms are spotless, very comfortable and have interesting decor. Even the breakfast was good.

This is the second time I've stayed in this hotel. Like many of the Miami/South Beach hotels, it's in an older Art Deco building that has been adapted to act as a mid-range boutique hotel. This strategy works in some parts, and not so much in others. Some rooms are excellent, some average, though they appear to all have the bedding and furniture. I was quite pleased with the rooms that have the walk in showers, with windows that face the hotel next door. The rooms in front have a more to look at out the window, but you won't want to be listening to the partying that goes on on Collins Ave at 4am.
Be warned they have an amenities charge of ~$10/day that you will be charged at check-in. Why this is not built into the price of rooms at booking is absolutely beyond me.

I stayed there with my girlfriend for five days in December. Very, very charming, helpful staff, relaxing veranda out front.

My boyfriend and I wanted to melt away the winter blues in Miami. The Blue Moon Hotel was affordable, safe, and clean. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast in the morning went well beyond the typical cereal and stale danishes that are offered; quite a good selection! The staff also made recommendations on restaurants nearby that were each excellent. The hotel is ideally located one block from the beach and right on Collins Ave. I would definitely come back! Only pitfall is that there is no parking and only valet. Luckily, the valet is decent but the parking itself is a little pricey.

The location is good if you want to stay near the restaurants and bars, the beach is on walking distance also. Great nightlife and restaurants. Maybe during the peak season it could get noisy? At least that's the impression we got as there were some ear plugs available to use. The falls seemed pretty thin as well. The room was basic clean, very large space shower and nice size with twin bed. The breakfast was OK, nothing special, toast, muesli, waffle machine and fruits. They say they have some snacks during the afternoon but we never saw anything else than apples and some muesli bars. The hotel had a nice looking pool but as it was December no one was using it but during warmer weather it must be very nice. Service was nothing special. No parking, valet parking is 25$per day, the streets are packed with cars so very hard to get a parking place so we chose valet which was Ok, had to wait 20mins sometimes to get the car though.
