“Good value and a good location.”
Reviewed 6 August 2013

Driving back up from Key West, we wanted to spend a night out in South Beach and stay over before flying out back home the following afternoon. This hotel is located just a block away from Ocean Drive and the beach. The staff member who checked us in was very courteous. There is no elevator, so you will have to lug your luggage up a couple flights of stairs to the rooms on the second floor. The room was quite large, and had a kitchenette, which we didn't need or use. The bed was comfortable and the place was clean. The bathroom was dated, but clean. You get an actual "old school" key for your room and the side door of the hotel (for after hours) rather than the electronic lock and key-card that most hotels use these days. The power outlets in the table under the TV did not work and the universal remote for the TV was quirky. For what we needed it for, it was great, and we couldn't beat the low price. If I was going to the area for a week, I would probably stay in a more modern hotel with more amenities (but with the higher price tag, of course).

If you're looking for a clean, retro hotel, for low cost and are spending most of your time out doing activities and basically using the hotel as a place to just sleep, I think it is a good place to stay. The road out front was under contruction and had lots of dirt and orange barrels everywhere. I don't know how long this is going to be going on, but it's not the hotel's fault. It's not that big of a deal but just something to be aware of. I was able to find parking on the side street next to the hotel. If you find on-street parking, ask the clerk at check-in for a placard to place on the dashboard or hang from the rearview mirror to keep you from getting ticketed (metered spaces).

This hotel was super clean and in a great location. The bed was nice, AC worked great, and although not "modern" in the bathroom everything was good. The staff here was super nice and accommodating! They provided extra towels when we asked and we checked in 6 hours early and left 1 hour late at NO ADDITIONAL cost, plus they stored our bags for the afternoon before our evening flight! Do not hesitate to book a room and stay here!

From the minute we walked in the staff was very friendly greeted us properly and were very helpful, we were given our rooms earlier than expected and both rooms were very clean and cozy, felt like a home away from home, location was excellent just a block away from the beach and all the wonderful restaurants on Ocean drive, would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is well located, one block from Ocean Drive, clean, renovated and quiet.
AC worked well, clean and new towels, confy bed, staff friendly.
The hotel (front desk) close the door at 11 pm and then they give you a key, if you wanna go out. This is not a hotel where everybody is going and in and out and wont let you sleep.
Couple of blocks from stores and 3 blocks from a minimarket (wallgreens)
Breakfast is included (fresh bread, orange juice, coffee and pastry)
Definately i will come back.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Hotel Viscay for the weekend and were pleasantly surprised by the location and the size of our room. The kitchen in our room was extremely convenient, our bed was big and comfortable and it was nice to see laminate floors in our room, as hotel room carpets can sometimes gross me out. The bathroom wasn't the biggest, but it was clean and served its purpose. Definitely great value for the price we paid.

Check-in and check-out were super easy and the staff were very helpful. We were even provided with beach towels upon request. I had read previous reviews about the area being noisy, but neither of us felt the noise from the street was a hindrance (we are both in our early 30s) and we stayed in a room on the second floor.

The hotel is in a great location, a block from the beach and the Cleavelander, and a few blocks from Espanola Way and Lincoln Road Mall. Aside from being right on Ocean Dr, the location really couldn't be any better - close to all of the action, but just far enough away to avoid the crowds on the strip. The hotel also offers sight-seeing tours and there's a bike rental place around the corner that rents bikes for a good price. I would definitely recommend this hotel to people on a budget who are looking to stay in a smaller, no-frills boutique hotel in South Beach.

Room looked nice, and it was a very spacious room, but I thought the bed was uncomfortable and loud. The location is great and the prices are very fair for the area. Valet parking is $10 more here then it was down the street.

We recently stayed at Viscay in Miami, nice little hotel, great location near the beach. Staff is very friendly and our check-in was fast and efficient. The room was great, above expectations, big, clean and nicely furnished ( the laminate floor instead of carpet is a really great value). The only problem is that the location is in the middle of a very active entertainment area and therefore very noisy, particularly due to the lack of window proper insulation. You literally hear everything inside, all the honks and horns, all the music and all the people going up and down on the streets and this goes on all night. I think the hotel would really benefit from installation of better windows. Until then I recommend you get some noise cancelling earphones and use them. Having said that, the hotel is still a great value for Miami standards and with a bit of work can become a lot better.

Room Tip: rooms not facing the street might be quieter
