Found this hotel by pure luck. Price was great for a suite. So handy to have our own kitchen. Room was spacious and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. No elevator, but only two floors so not a big problem. Continental breakfast was adequate - appreciated the delicious ice cold orange juice. Location is ideal - close to everything, but a block away from Ocean Drive, so not noisy. We would stay at the Viscay again and recommend it friends.

Room Tip: Ground floor if you have lots of luggage and as far from the street as possible.

Hotel located in the center of south beach activities. Nicely priced for a SoBe stay. No pool, no bar in the hotel, nice hotel staff, big room. Had a street side room and did hear city noises most of the night, but you are in south beach and not supposedly sleeping until 5 am , right Well worth the value and would stay there again

I visited Miami this past June, stayed at Viscay, liked it so much that I stayed again, location is perfect, only a block away from the beach and centered where all the hotspots are off Ocean Dr. Small, quiet hotel, close enough enjoy the night life yet a block away to enjoy peace and quiet at night. Will definitely continue to stay at Viscay!

Very good location close to beach and restaurants. No seaview though. Big clean room with comfortable bed and interior. Linens and towels were lovely and fresh. Don't expect much for breakfast, it's all foam cups and paper plates with only a few bites and some toast. Other than the lack of protein at breakfast and the foam cups, I can recommend Viscay hotel for a stay.

excellent location, parking available on the other side of the street($25/day), small hotel but with some deco features (dont expect ultra modern), friendly staff, breakfast is small but sufficient, probably not suited for small children as there is no gameroom or pool

We stayed at the Viscay one night, Saturday to Sunday. The hotel stays nice and cool inside. There is a complimentary breakfast with muffins and orange juice. The only issue I had staying at this hotel is there isn't any parking.
You can pay $20 to get a parking pass to park on the street, but you have to find an open space. It's valid for a certain range of blocks. Your other option is parking 1/2 block away in a parking garage that's not associated with the hotel. The price varies depending on the time of day and how full they are. When I first parked here it was $15 for a maximum of 12 hours. Right after I parked, I noticed the price changed to $20.
Since South Beach is such a busy area with wall-to-wall cars, we were worried we'd come back that Saturday night and not find any parking. Luckily, the parking garage was not full when we went in, but after two cars behind us pulled in, they put up the LOT FULL sign.
There is no one at the front desk after hours at the hotel, so you get a key for a side door to come in. Other than that, if you want to stay in South Beach, this is a fine hotel.

Room Tip: We were not able to choose a room, but were able to get a room before the check-in time.

Driving back up from Key West, we wanted to spend a night out in South Beach and stay over before flying out back home the following afternoon. This hotel is located just a block away from Ocean Drive and the beach. The staff member who checked us in was very courteous. There is no elevator, so you will have to lug your luggage up a couple flights of stairs to the rooms on the second floor. The room was quite large, and had a kitchenette, which we didn't need or use. The bed was comfortable and the place was clean. The bathroom was dated, but clean. You get an actual "old school" key for your room and the side door of the hotel (for after hours) rather than the electronic lock and key-card that most hotels use these days. The power outlets in the table under the TV did not work and the universal remote for the TV was quirky. For what we needed it for, it was great, and we couldn't beat the low price. If I was going to the area for a week, I would probably stay in a more modern hotel with more amenities (but with the higher price tag, of course).

If you're looking for a clean, retro hotel, for low cost and are spending most of your time out doing activities and basically using the hotel as a place to just sleep, I think it is a good place to stay. The road out front was under contruction and had lots of dirt and orange barrels everywhere. I don't know how long this is going to be going on, but it's not the hotel's fault. It's not that big of a deal but just something to be aware of. I was able to find parking on the side street next to the hotel. If you find on-street parking, ask the clerk at check-in for a placard to place on the dashboard or hang from the rearview mirror to keep you from getting ticketed (metered spaces).
