This will be brief – the hotel doesn’t deserve more.

Here is what we got for $260:
A double bed for my wife and myself. The room was so small a queen-size bed wouldn’t fit;
The furniture looks like it was found in a thrift-shop (or maybe in the street…).;
The overhead lights in the room and the bathroom were ghastly neon;
The bathroom? Lilliputian;
Boiling hot or cold water. Pick one.
Closet space? Plenty … on either side of the hot-water tank;
The view? The wall of an apartment building and its parking area.

I suspect we paid $10 for the room and $250 for the location.

Souvenir photos attached.

Room Tip: Pick a room in another hotel.

Dear Robertonathan,

Thank you for sharing your feedback from your recent 1 night stay here at The Savoy Hotel.

We sincerely apologize that you didn't care for your accommodation. You booked one of our Traditional Rooms, which feature 1 queen bed and measure approximately 300 s.f. and have a mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We have 10 of those rooms on property, and our remaining 65 units are One Bedroom Suites, ranging from 600 to 900 s.f. They do not offer any premium views.

Perhaps if you decide to return, you would consider reserving one of the suites, as they are double in size and have some very nice pool & ocean views!

Please don't hesitate to reach me directly should you need any further assistance!

Yours in Hospitality,
Francine - Director of Sales & Marketing

We arrived way too early to check in, but they went out of their way to get us a suite earlier than check-in time. The room was excellent with a beautiful view on the pool and beach. Room was always clean and room staff came by around 7 pm to fill the ice bucket, open the sheets and leave some chocolates. Excellent. On time it was raining and the lobby staff lent us an umbrella. If we visit Miami again, we'll definitely consider The Savoy Hotel again.

Room Tip: Definitely get a room looking out on the pool. These have balconies and beautiful views.

Booked this hotel after a friend recommended it, we were happy we did. Great location just South of Fifth street, close to the party but also peaceful. The best part of this hotel besides its beachfront location is the staff. Very friendly and willing to help, we felt like we were part of the family. Looking for dates to return....

Room Tip: If you can swing a pool or ocean view upgrade you will be glad you did

We had an amazing stay so much so that I sent the Savoy a thank you letter. Below is the letter I sent.

Dear Staff of Savoy Hotel,
I wanted to take a moment to send my thanks to the entire staff of the Savoy Hotel. Recently the team from Sears Photo Studio and myself, traveled to Miami for our 2014 Kmart Spring Signage shoot. Because these photos appear in all our Kmart stores around the United States, it’s a shoot that the company takes very seriously. We were looking for a location to shoot at that was not only of a high caliber, but also had a great environment for the crew to work in. We found that at the Savoy Hotel.

The pool area was one of the best I saw and we picked it over some of the five star hotels along Collin Ave in South Beach. But even more amazing than the pool, was the staff. Words cannot describe how amazing the entire staff was to us during our stay. From the moment we walked into the hotel we were greeted by amazing front desk staff members who worked with us for our entire stay. From printing request, to shipping our merchandise, issues with the keys, or parking concerns, the front desk staff was there to help and always had a solution to help us.

Feedback that I often times get from friends or business partners traveling to South Beach is how horrible the service is at local restaurants. Not the case at the Savoy Hotel restaurant. I have never met such an accommodating group willing to help us even in the middle of a rainstorm. They set up tables for us, delivered our food needs at any time and always helped us with a smile on their face. And speaking of the restaurant, the food was truly out of this world. Great food options and extremely reasonably priced! I was thrilled with every meal I had!

The rooms were wonderful, spacious and stocked with everything we needed for our three-night stay. Turn down staff of the rooms were very efficient as well as personable! All rooms were kept very clean and I never had to ask for anything I needed. The pool area was amazing, the pool was clean and inviting and the pool staff was helpful and friendly.

I cannot say enough positive things about our stay and shooting experience at the Savoy Hotel. There is truly an amazing group of staff members working there that are engaged in teamwork and making the guests stay memorable and fun.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Savoy Hotel Miami Beach on our way down from New York to South America do get some sun and relax. Arriving at the hotel at approximately 0130 pm we attempted to check in unsure of what the check in times were - we received a reminder email from the hotel the day before but it did not list check in or check out times. This said we arrived recently for our stay in London at 0700 in the morning to be told there was a vacant room. The reception was frosty from the staff to say the least with the girl at reception very short in telling us no room was available, and a room would not be available until after 0230 pm. No further information was given other than feel free to use hotel facilities whilst you wait. We returned to the reception after 0300pm to be told by another person behind the reception desk that no room was still available and that we would have to wait. After discussing the fact that we had been told a room would be available after 0230 we were told that check was not until 0400 pm and that they would check with housekeeping to see if a room was available. Low and behold 3 minutes later we were told our room was available and check in progressed. On arriving at our room we found the air conditioning duct leaking water into a big puddle on the carpet which was reported immediately, maintenance attended - stated it was condensation and did a quick dry of the duct and left, only to find the leak continued throughout our stay. The shower went from boiling hot to freezing cold with a slight twist of the shower tap. Our dealings with all staff at the hotel other than those in the hotel bar were found to be less than friendly and we felt we were not made to feel welcome. On our day of checkout - which was 1200 - at 1145 we called the reception desk to ask for someone to come and collect our luggage. After waiting 10 minutes we received a call from reception asking when we were going to check out as checkout was 1200. Once again the person from reception on the phone was quite short and unfriendly in their approach. Utterly disappointing to say the least and if we do visit Miami beach will not be visiting here again.

Dear Brendon,

The staff and management team here at The Savoy Hotel are very dismayed to read your comments. We sincerely apologize if you were not made to feel welcome here at our property. Our staff typically receives excellent comments on their friendly and personalized service which you can see by scrolling through our reviews. Which is why it is alarming to see a review such as yours!

Secondly, we have communicated your maintenance issues to our Chief Engineer for follow-up.

Lastly, although we would love to check in every guest earlier than the posted check-in time, it's not always possible, especially when we are sold out the night before. We apologize that you were not able to check-in early this time.

We certainly hope that your next voyage is safe & memorable.

Yours in Hospitality,
Francine - Director of Sales & Marketing

We went to Miami for my father's birthday after a week in Orlando. We had planned to stay in South Beach and we chose The savoy because of its beach front location. And it was the right decision for sure. The hotel is kind of a boutique hotel so it's quite beautiful and stylish. It has two pools and a nice relaxing area around them. You also can enjoy the beach club area right in front of the hotel which is super easy to access. The rooms are really beautiful and relaxing in tones of cream and blue. The room has a microwave, mini bar, coffee maker, 2 plasma tv's, a dock station and a closet.
What most impressed me about the hotel was the staff. Particularly Alex and Eloy. They were incredible!! Whatever we needed was catered by them. Including one unsuccessful night at Nikki Beach that led Alex to call every possible place in South Beach to see if we could get in at that time! They also had a looooot of great tips!!
Definitely would come back!!
Actually am in april next year ;)))

My sister, daughter and I stayed here for two nights prior to a cruise. I chose this hotel based on all the reviews on Trip Advisor and it did not disappoint!!

From the moment we arrived there was top notch service! The people working in this hotel are fantastic. The hotel was spotless and being right on Ocean Drive in the perfect location! We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. For 24.00 we had a cab to the port on the morning of our cruise. A shuttle from the airport took us right to the front door.

The rooms are huge and clean. The pool area was stunning and the beach access was perfect! Eloy and Dianna were so welcoming and hospitable. These two in particular were very helpful and friendly. Although there was not a staff member there that wasn't anything but sincere, professional and helpful!

I will stay here every time I travel to Miami! I look forward to returning very soon. Thank you so much for such a great experience!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in what I think was the main building in room 320! Nice little balcony and a corner room...
