If you are an art deco fan, this is your place. The permanent collection features so many cool art deco pieces-from furniture to appliances to tchotchkes. The visiting exhibit about Norman Bel Geddes who designed the Futurama/Tomorowland exhibit for the 39 Worlds Fair was a knockout.

it is definitely worth spending an hour or so in the museum on the 5th floor. A lot of nice artwork and historic artifacts.

Interesting collection in a beautiful art deco building. it was very nice and pleasant.
But my discovery was situated on 10th street just next to the museum.
I walked and heard some french music and I discovered the nicest shop in south beach.
French clothes, one nicer than the other. the owner, a cute little french girl recently opened her boutique. In the Miami heat, you walk in a paradise with the back ground music of Vanessa Paradis.
A must !

We started our exploration of Miami Beach by walking, followed by ab trip to the Jewish Museum of Florida, next day by a Walking Tour by the Miami Design Preservation Action League.
Our trip to the Wolfsonian was a great conclusion - it helped us to cross the T's and dot the I's - and by doing this learn a lot about both Miami Beach and Art Deco, in Europe and America.
Do not miss this Museum

A treasure trove of wonderful Art Deco items - many of which we would love in our home! The museum is very well laid out and there is a convenient on-site coffee shop. Would highly recommend.
