My 1 year old son, wife and I visited the Sagamore on May 30 - June 4th

Pros:

- Great location: 1 minute walk to Lincoln Road, 5 minute walk to Ocean Drive
- Awesome staff: Super friendly and helpful (especially from Tatsianna, she is a doll and made us feel at home every chance she could)
- Very large rooms (stayed in a sagamore suite: 550 sq feet)
- Very nice pool area , small but cozy
- Great food at pool bar

Cons:

- Hotel has no ramp anywhere for baby strollers or wheelchairs
- All hallways and elevators have a "moldy" smell
- White decor seems dated and needs to be refreshed
- Some of the art are not appropriate for children or even many adults: (1) small kid holding up a gun to his head, (2) flat screen tv next to elevators showing cartoon characters killing each other, blood everywhere, and many more.
- Hotel breakfast is a big no no. Its buffet style and eggs don't taste like eggs at all
- Expensive parking: 37$/day, even if not planning to use valet service

Bottom Line:

First impressions were not good for the above reasons, but the hotel staff including Tatsianna, Gregory, and even the maids made our stay so worth it. It was the human touch, not the hotel itself that will make us come back to the Sagamore!!

Room tip: Room 210 has a beautiful view

Probato,

Thank you for your recent review on our property. We appreciate all of your
feedback. Myself and the hotel team are working hard to correct the problems you encountered.

The artwork that we sometimes display is very unique and we apologize if you found some of the pieces offensive. We showcase many different artists with many different styles and our collection is known to invoke different emotions from different people.

We are also in the process of updating all of our elevators as well as other exciting projects to help keep the property in excellent shape all around. It is great to hear such wonderful feedback about our staff members and I will definetly pass along all of your good praise.

We thank you again for choosing Sagamore and look forward to your next stay with us.

Best Regards,
James D'Agostino

Love the art, the big rooms and the great beach location. Disgusted by how dirty and worn the hotel was. Disappointed by the attitude and the poor customer service. This is not a customer friendly place.

Mikey8499,

Thank you for your recent 5 star review of our wonderful beachfront property. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your time here with us.

It sounds like you had a great time enjoying our beach and also our many poolside amenities. I’m sure you were pretty comfortable being able to order food and drinks to be delivered right to your lounge chair on the beach.

We thank you again for choosing Sagamore and hope you continue to make us your hotel of choice on South Beach.

Best Regards,

I usually don't write these reviews, but having just returned from a lovely trip to The Sagamore Hotel, I had to share my experience! I booked a weekend getaway for me and 6 other friends for a much needed weekend away from hectic New York. We had a wonderful two bedroom ocean fron suite that was breath takingm, the views were amazing and the suite was very roomy and comfortable. The only drawback was that we booked during a busy Memorial Weekend which made our trip a bit uneasy. We were in the middle of what is also called "Hip Hop" weekend and the crowd although not bad inside the hotel, was scary out on the streets. That was the only negative about this weekend. The staff was very friendly especially Christian Moreno, the Director of Revenue which greeted us right after we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed. He made us feel as if we were true VIP's and recommended a few places where we could have a fun night but safe at the same time, away from all the craziness of Memorial Weekend in South Beach. Richard the concierge was also fantastic, he knew the spots we could hit and exactly catered to our taste.

The hotel is right on the ocean and the service was fabulous. Had it been any other weekend, we know this would have been a perfect vacation. Needless to say, thanks to Christian and Richard and we will most definitely be back and hope to see you both again.

NYCLong1985,

Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience that you had here at our property. We are delighted that you chose Sagamore for your “girls getaway.”

Our 2 bedroom oceanfront suite can offer the best of both worlds, providing not only the space to accomadate such a large group, but also the oceanview which can truly make a stay in South Florida memorable.

Memorial weekend can definetly be a little hectic on the beach, as each year many people choose Miami Beach as their destination for the 3 day holiday weekend.

We are also pleased to hear that our staff was able to provide you and your friends with a VIP experience, as we try to make sure that all of our guests leave only wanting to return as soon as possible to do it all over again.

I will definetly share your good praise with our team and we hope to see you again next time.

Best Regards,
James D'Agostino

well, Miami is a typical beach vacation with water games, sea chairs and sultry weather......but the resorts therefore have to be really good for you to enjoy the afternoons amongst the screeching sun...We booked through travelocity secret rooms and not only the hotel was a pleasant surprise, the rooms they gave us were 2 floor bedroom suites, right next to the pool as also the beach..if the pool was deep enough, one could dive from the room balcony (though its not)...the bad part was that the pool closes at 6PM (even the sun goes down two hrs later)...we didnt try much of the food...being vegetarians, you dont have many choices to eat in the hotel though there is a nice Indian restaurant (very expensive!!!) about 4 blocks away...the rooms have a back entry from the beach as well (requires a room key to open that entry) ...when we went, the earlier reviews mentioned some theft etc to some guys...we were just careful irrespective of the great time we had there...
