Took my girlfriend to the Sagamore hotel in Miami for Christmas... Beautiful hotel. I have never seen an atmosphere like it. Swimming with a beautiful, fantastically lit, heated pool in the late December... sounds like a dream. We went all over southern Florida... including Islands of Adventure in Orlando, West Palm Beach, Boynton Beach and Bocca Raton... When the trip was over, i asked her what her favorite part was... she said the hotel in Miami by far... and i already knew the answer.
Warning: Miami is more expensive than all of the other cities added together.... it's not the hotel.... it's the city.

Room Tip: I'm not sure if i'm allowed to put contact info on here, but if you contact Sandy Thorpe at the Saga...

We reserved the oceanfront bungalow at the Sagamore, making this a Christmas splurge. Looked great on the website and we were familiar with the property from previous stays in South Beach. The room is a two story suite, which makes for a nice effect especially with two wrap-around balconies. Would have been nice to have a water closet downstairs!

Biggest complaint was just the use of space. Very little storage area. Had kitchenette but there was absolutely NOTHING except a kettle. Had to request everything and it was tedious getting what was needed from housekeeping. So that was another diasppointment.

Overall, the suite was nice, but a little worn. Bed was comfortable. Outdoor chairs and table not very comfortable but there were two loungers.

Biggest issue for us was noise from the pool area. Don't stay here if screaming children in the pool with bother you. Also the adjacent properties play music, which would not be bad but all that comes through is a constant bass pounding. Again, if noise bothers you, this is not a good fit.

Hotel staff were friendly. Housekeeping good. Concierge was not very helpful and was seldom present. Sent us to a restaurant that, for that day, only had a buffet when we wanted a nice dining experience (we have to say it was Christmas day and that sort of thing is expected, we just think we should have been told and not been surprised).

The beach staff were very accommodating and we had a nice setup for a couple of days. Not inexpensive ($10/day per lounger, $15/day for an umbrella). We did not choose the Sagamore plan (which would have included a beach chair) because internet was not important on this trip and we planned to have breakfast in the room (which as noted was more difficult than expected due to lack of equipment).

This is an historic property and the artwork is impressive.

Oh, the valet/overnight parking fee is very expensive (all South Beach hotels are, however).

So we paid a premium and felt that we had an ok experience, but it was not what we had hoped.

Room Tip: Lovely view, close to beach but noisy

Gewizz,

First let me apologize for it is obvious that your stay here with us certainly did not live up to your expectations.

The oceanfront bungalow can be a great room to stay in due to its large living space and tremendous views, however it is by the pool area and there is always the possibility of outside noise especially on a busy weekend in South Beach. Unfortunately there are some instances where the surrounding hotels may have music playing that can be heard from some of our rooms which have balconies and this is out of our immediate control.

We are happy that you were able to enjoy your time here on the beach and I will be certain to pass along all your good praise to our beach staff. We will definitely make note of all the issues you experienced and make sure that they are addressed accordingly.

I would also like the chance to speak with you personally in regards to your stay and would love for you to contact me directly at your convenience. I have provided my telephone and email below.

Again I apologize for your less than stellar experience with us and hope that you will return in the future to receive the proper Sagamore experience. I look forward to speaking with you.

They call it the art hotel. Very nice rooms. We got hooked up with a suite (we know the gm of the hotel) great infinity pool with bar, very trendy. Breakfast buffet couldve been a little more plentiful. In the middle of Collins ave which is walking distance of everything, including shops, bars, clubs & other hotels. Sagamore is beach front. Cabana boys associated with the hotel bring u drinks, umbrellas & food. Miami is expensive but you feel pampered the whole time u stay there.

Stayed for a few days in December and all in all a very solid venue. Clean rooms, friendly staff, pretty cool and clean pool area. Hotel in the midst of everything. Rooms pretty good, comfortable beds with shower being only draw back but that is a given with all Miami hotels. The fifth hotel I have stayed in South Beach and one would recommend the most.

We had a very nice room on the penthouse level with sitting area, mini-kitchenette and teo flat screen TVs. Well located to both the Art Deco District and Lincoln Road. Staff was helpful and attentive, including fresh towels on request (no turn down service). Only complaint is the $37 parking fee per day--we never even moved our car! Very artsy place for people interested in that. The extra charge for breakfast should be considered against cheap breakfasts over on Ocean Avenue.

AnnandBob,

Thanks for your recent review of Sagamore. We are happy that your stay with us was a good experience.

In regards to the turn down service, we do offer it to all guests upon request and I apologize for not informing you of that at check in. Parking is few and far between here in South Beach, making parking at many of the beachfront hotels slightly more expensive than normal. Since our location is in the heart of South Beach, we are just a short walk or cab ride from many local attractions making it not be necessary to have a vehicle.

We thank you again for choosing Sagamore and hope that you will return soon for another great stay.

Sagamore has great position, two blocks from Lincoln road, short walk also from Ocean Drive.
Sagamore is a art hotel with very interesting collection, rooms are nice size, specifically ocean bungalows. Service was great, Sagamore plan gives great deal, 23$ provides beach chairs and umbrella, continental breakfast and wireless internet. Service stuff was friendly, I spent most of my days at a pool, food and drinks at a poolside area are great, enjoyed my time at a pool bar with bartender Mickey and pool attendant Gregory. Great guys.

Room Tip: Ocean view bungalows are best option in this hotel

Joachimeffenberg,

We greatly appreciate you sharing your feedback from your recent experience here at Sagamore. We are delighted that you enjoyed your time here with us.

We certainly do have quite the unique art collection and it is one of our hotel features that we are most proud of.

Our bungalows are a terrific choice as they offer a lot of living space with the combination of outdoor space and a view as well. Perhaps next time you may elect to try one of our oceanfront suites which provide an even better view as they are on the higher floors of our main building.

I am glad to hear such great feedback in regards to our staff members as well and will be sure to pass along your kind words for Mickey, Gregory and the rest of the team here.

We look forward to seeing you again here at Sagamore.

A lovely Art Deco style conveniently located hotel staffed by very friendly and attentive people. This hotel has only 93 rooms so it makes for a more romantic, peaceful stay. The action is outside!
Pool area is lovely, nestled in beautiful gardens. Food served in grill area is tasty and well presented. Service was excellent.
Try to get a room with a balcony. Our room faced another hotel which wasn't pleasant when I wanted a view of pool or ocean but other than that it was a really memorable stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a oceanfront room or one overlooking pool with a balcony.

Josh047,

Thanks for taking a moment to share your review of our property. It’s wonderful to hear such positive feedback about our staff.

Being a smaller property certainly allows for us to provide a more personable experience to each and every guest, and that is part of what can make Sagamore so special.

We do have several different room types and I would suggest next time inquiring about our oceanfront or garden view rooms which do indeed have balconies.

We hope that you will continue to choose Sagamore when traveling to South Beach and we hope to see you here again real soon.
