“Seen better days”
Reviewed 6 March 2014 via mobile

A special hotel that needs a revamp. We were there for 4 days. Nice entrance. Room was spacious by Miami standards. Superb service. However it lacks the vibe of the neighbourhood hotels like the delano( still going strong after many years) and SLS. The furniture in the suite and common areas are worm out. Too many families with kids which may not be in sync with couples. But if u want a quiet hotel and want to party elsewhere this place is for your. Can't beat the location. We just expected more for the price

Shadthames Habarana,

We appreciate your feedback after your stay with us here at Sagamore.

Sagamore does have a bit of a different vibe than some of our neighbors, however that also part of our appeal. We provide a nice oasis away from all the hustle and bustle while at the same time being close enough for our guests to enjoy these places with a short walk or taxi ride. Our location makes it perfect for those travelers who want to experience south beach at their leisure and be able to return to their room and get a good nights rest.

We thank you againg for choosing Sagamore and hope to host you again in the future.

Best Regards,
James D'Agostino

This Hotel is one of the most rare gems I have ever come across. What I would consider a boutique hotel next to the huge Ritz-Carlton South Beach, full of art everywhere. The location is unique. We would walk every morning around Lincoln Rd and have a croissant and a coffee there. It felt like falling from the bed and being in the center of South Beach. The team at the Sagamore goes way beyond their duty to make your stay unforgettable: from Edgar at the Concierge desk that gave us the best arepas address outside Venezuela, to Vito at the pool, or to the whole team at the pool bar. It has been an unforgettable holiday for the whole family and we felt the kids were safe even if we went to the beach by ourselves. Our room, a duplex suite was perfect for the four of us, quiet, but at the same time close to everything.
If I had to find elements to improve they would be the hardware at the beach (umbrella and chairs) that looked really run down, especially when you compare it to the neighbors, the Ritz-Carlton, the National or the Delano.
In any case, a place we will visit again for sure

Room Tip: If you can, have one of the duplex bungalows. Even for two it is a great experience

Rdjim,

Thanks for your review of our property. We are delighted you had such a great experience here with us.

Our location certainly is as good as it gets in regards to not only being oceanfront, but also in such close proximity to the best nightlife and dining options that Miami beach has to offer. We will make sure to pass along all of your great praise to all of our team members that helped make your stay such a memorable one.

We look forward to your next visit here with us and thanks again for choosing Sagamore!

The Sagamore is beautiful, and rather small with 91 rooms. It is intimate. All the staff will know you within a day or so. The people who work there are "gentle", meaning polite, intelligent, soft and soft-spoken. I loved it and stayed in a BUNGALOW which is a two-story suite, spiral stairs connecting, and two balconies. The first level of the suite has a small kitchenette with stove top, micro, coffee maker, tea kettle, fridge. If one wants pots, pans, dishes, etc., they will be brought. Mine looked as if it had never been used. There is a sleeper sofa, chair, small table with two side chairs, big screen TV, sound system and the balcony has table and chairs. Upstairs in a lovely suite with king bed, fabulous pillows and linens....REALLY amazing....chair, bench, desk/work area. Closets up and down. The upper balcony has a table and chairs also. The bathroom has the toilet/shower separate from the sink/tub, with various sets of door so that if you have people or kids sleeping downstairs, they can use the facilities without ever disturbing you. The place is QUIET. One one side is the Ritz, the other the National and the Delano. Perfect location. Pool heated and very warm, plus pool and beach service. All around gorgeous gardens. I have friends in Miami who work in another very popular 5 star hotel (Downtown Miami and much more expensive) and they all LOVED the Sagamore and couldn't say enough good things. If you want to honeymoon, this is it! If you want to party, this is it! If you want to bring your kids and let them have their own space, this is it! Plus a very nice art collection all over the hotel....and doors and windows that open to let in the fresh ocean breeze.

Room Tip: Choose a 2 story bungalow if you want luxury! and a place to entertain!!! They overlook the garden...

This was an extremely nice Art Hotel in the heart of South Beach. Location couldn't be better, walking distance to Lincoln Road, 100 feet off south beach. Staff was coureous, knowledgeable, and the rooms were fantastic. we stayed in the bungalow, which was huge, and slept 5 comfortably. Thank you so much, we will be back!

EastCoastTravelBuddy,

Thank you for your review of Sagamore. We are glad you enjoyed your couples getaway here with us.

The bungalows are a perfect option for couples sharing a suite as the separation from the bedroom upstairs and pull out sofabed downstairs provide the right amount of privacy yet also have the added benefit of a terrace or balcony to enjoy as well.

We hope you will be back soon and we thank you again for choosing Sagamore!

The Sagamore is pleasant, the staff will go out of their way to assist in every way, the pool is shallow and filled with children, and music drifts over from hotels on either side.

This is an "art" hotel, filled with all kinds of interesting creativity. The rooms are large with good beds and a balcony on many. Bathrooms good, but show signs of some sloppy painting and caulking.

With bare floors, sound carries if someone closes a hall door too hard. Beach is great and crowded. You have to go out the hotel gate, cross a bike, walking, segway path to the area reserved for guests.

There is a tiny fitness center with no machines or weights for anyone but the most physically fit and strong.

I booked an ocean view suite, but with the palm trees, I could only see a tiny patch of ocean.
Still I liked staying here - it has a nice feel and the people make it good.

Room Tip: Stick to the high floors - preferably the top floor, unless you want a room that opens on the ground...

SagHarborAlice,

Thanks for your feedback after your recent stay at Sagamore. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience here with us and that our staff was able to make you feel so at home.

We apologize that your ocean view suite fell short of your expecations, as we would have loved to have the opportunity while you were to relocate you to a suite on a higher floor which may have been more to your liking.

We are glad that despite several small hiccups, our staff was able to make the difference and make sure that your overall stay was enjoyable.

We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back and provide you with an even better experience.

Best regards,
James D'Agostino

We had a terrific suite with a small balcony overlooking the garden path to the pool. Roomy clean good fridge micro freezer. All good. Pool is small and crowded area surrounding. Lobby is empty wasted space not welcoming. There is no coffee bar or open bar near the lobby..only at the pool half the time we thought the hotel was empty. Evey other hotel on that strip of Collins was filled with activity bars, nice scene...I
sagamore dead. Weird. Why they don't put Ina bar or espresso spot, or put out a breakfast display, something. We never wanted to eat there. But we did have lunch it was ok but pricey. Beach scene was excellent. Terrific helper, Akbar made a point of helping us with chairs towels umbrellas. Super nice. Ocean pretty. For a weekend getaway on AA it was fine. Next time we try another, maybe the James down the street.
