Hotel completely renovated. Modern, nice, clean. The rooms are not large. But it was nicely decorated. We liked a lot. The beds were comfortable, the television channels of high quality. The staff were polite and helpful. nice restaurant and bar. The pool is exquisite. Beach quality and clean. Complimentary bike nice facilities. Would love to come again.

Very happy after our weekend without the kids and without the cold of the north east ! The whole facility was recently refurbished. The Victor kept it's Art Deco vibe, but has a modern feel to it as well. When you benchmark the prices for similar hotels, the value is outstanding. The rooms featured a view of the pool, king sized bed, flat screen TV, and one of the most modern bathrooms I have seen. Take advantage of the free hotel bikes and ride up and down the walkway that is between the street and the beach. Also, take the Art Deco tour offered by the city. The Victor is featured on the tour. We did not eat dinner at the hotel but we had breakfast twice. The Hotel Victor is highly recommended and is on "Must go back" list. Thank you to the hotel and restaurant staff for making our stay wonderful.

Room Tip: Overlooking the pool was nice. Surprised that there was NO road noise.

We stayed here during the last night of our Key West vacation before flying home from Miami. It was a great find through South Beach Magazine because we paid under $200 for a "run of the house" room and were pleasantly surprised with a marble bathroom and jacuzzi tub, lush King bed, and view of the pool and beach. It is very modern with a kind of mix of cheap and classy furniture and decor.

It's situated right with all the outside restaurant action on Ocean Drive, maybe too much for some people. This area in South Beach is very different from the tone of the Keys but you can escape to the beautiful beach directly across the street and make use the hotel's complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas. The only negative for us was waiting over 35 minutes for assistance with their Mac computers to print our boarding passes in the lobby--I think they'll get that one resolved real soon.

Room Tip: The "run of the house" option at a 4-star hotel seems to be the way to go as long as you a...

This hotel has been recently renovated and it shows. The decor is so chic and beautiful which is reflected in the rooms. Even though the hotel is located on south beach, it is quiet (we had a room overlooking the pool and south beach to the left) and we didnt hear any noise from the main street. The value for money is great and will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, modern and a little 'upmarket' hotel in South beach (that doesnt carry the price tag of the W's or Viceryoy's). For breakfast, we would recommend going to another restaurant along south beach as the breakfast is just the same. Try News cafe!

Room Tip: rooms overlooking the pool are quieter and still have great views of the water.

Note: this is about the restaurant which is attached to the hotel and part of the hotel operations. I tried to write a restaurant review but there are so many Bice restaurants that getting the Tripadvisor page to acknowledge the 1144 Ocean Drive location in Miami Beach did not work.

Business integrity is an important part of any experience, in this case the lack of integrity clearly ruins the experience.

A walk along Ocean Drive will find most restaurant with shrills offering lunch specials and this tactic is a key sign to "run away". However we desired to eat outside, under the shade and absorb the varied flow of humanity strolling the street. Food was important, but we were more in tune with being able to sit and relax under the shade with a drink in hand.

The shenanigans commenced when we were seated at the upper level just off the street and told the "special menu with cheaper prices" was only available at street level. So we were provided two menus, one for food and one for drinks, and then told it was happy hour with 2 for 1 drinks. We asked for Sangria and were brought a monster size glass, see photo, containing really bad purple colored wine with some fruit sitting at the bottom. The "sangria" was terrible and we asked out waiter to take it back, which he did. We asked if all the drinks had to be of the same container size and were told "yes" so we lost interest in ordering any alcohol. Note: the 2 for 1 special brought each of us a whale size container and we desired to walk, not stagger, the remainder of the day.

We ordered two appetizers and a Cobb salad, but when the food was delivered a chicken salad appeared (which the waiter insisted was the Cobb salad). Service was slow so we decided to obtain our original goal of relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. We had ordered ice tea and quickly needed refills, but waited 10 minutes (I timed it after 5 minutes) to get more tea. At the time of the refill I told the waiter we would drink a lot of tea so he brought a pitcher of tea to our table. "Nice touch" thought I.

The food was decent, the weather fine, the seats comfortable and humanity flowed by....... objective achieved.

I asked for the check and out came a bill totaling an expense well beyond any amount of food ordered. So I asked for an itemized check and was given a glare which dispensed all friendliness. When the itemized check appeared we found the Sangria was on the bill, a "custom salad", the two appetizers and a charge for a pitcher of tea! Plus the 17% mandatory tip which we noticed when first read the menu. The waiter took his time returning for the credit card and I told him "no" on the charges and you would have thought I was stealing from his pocket by the reaction.

So the bait and switch menu tactics, coupled with the waiter's lack of integrity left us with a rating of "Do not set foot in this place".

Important! We love art deco so had stopped in the hotel lobby to view the architecture and were warmly welcomed by the hotel staff.
