If you are looking for a problem, you won't have to look hard. But I would instead suggest not looking for any problems and instead spend most of your time exploring outside of the hotel property. The hotel is five minutes from the beach and two minutes away from Walgreens (in case you need snacks or maybe some extra sunscreen for the beach). It also isn't in a terrible part of town. You will feel safe walking back from the beach at 11 p.m. I've stayed in some pretty bad places in Miami and this is not one of them. Again, don't go around performing a home inspection on the place and you will be alright . Go ahead and book a room and hurry up and get to the beach!

The entrance is quite Mediterranean style and inviting. Other than that we wont' come here again. The building is soooo old, making me feel unsafe when walking on the stair. The thing that makes me uncomfortable is that I can feel the damping along the wall and inside the room, especially the wood floor. The closet was not well-kept and had something left on the shelf, which maybe belong to the previous guests.

I understand that with the budge we have, I shouldn't expect too much from the hotel, asking more for disposable cups or shampoo, lotions, etc. But this is my true feeling.

Location, location, location!!! That is the best part of this hotel. 4th and Washington. Within walking distance of most of south beach. Stayed one night before a cruise and there were too many issues to count. The front desk was a bit helpful. There were 3 of us. One of our rooms was ready at 245 but ours wasn't ready until after 4 O'CLOCK!!! funny part is they had another room ready because our companions room 202, had plaster falling from the area around the ac. So they gave her room 209 right when we got our room. 101. The hotel just needs more work. Plaster and uneven paint everywhere. Cracks in windows. Lumps in hallway floor, blown lights in rooms. Safe didn't work. Some rooms have keys, others have cards, remotes don't work or missing back covers. Better parts were the lobby and courtyard. courtyard needed to be cleaned. Slight mildew smell in room. View of hive garbage cans right outside window. Probably won't stay again.

Great location, pretty quiet, clean, comfy beds, and friendly staff. Great value! The "super concierge" was very helpful. The hotel is old and is not totally sound proof, but it has a bit of the Art Deco style and the location can't be beat!

If you are looking for a no frills hotel in a great location, this is the spot. The entrance is inviting, the rooms are clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. You have a place to lay your head but not much else. Go out and enjoy South Beach!

We travel about about six to ten times a year and have stayed in all types of hotels - and cleanliness is a must! Whether a budget or luxury choice, our one requirement is cleanliness. We have traveled nationally and abroad and so size of room is not an issue - but, again, cleanliness is a must!

The Harrison Hotel is situated two blocks away from Ocean Drive in Miami. Beach. The location is fantastic and you are close to great restaurants, the beach, and nightlife. However, that is where the positives end.

The rooms are old and disgusting. The sheets are thin and worn, the bathrooms are shabby and full of mold, the furniture run down and chipped, and everything is yucky and dirty.

The reception staff - especially Ernesto - were helpful when we ended up changing rooms because the air did not work. Even the cleaning ladies did their best to keep the shabby rooms clean - but it was beyond the scope of reality.

This is by far one of the worst hotel experiences we have encountered here in the states or abroad. Do not stay in this hotel if you are expecting cleanliness!

My wife and I wanted to stay in South Beach on the night before we left on a cruise. I surfed the internet and finally found a reasonable price for the Harrison on the Tingo website ($145 - including tax). I knew this hotel did not have an elevator so I called the hotel one month before we would arrive and requested a 1st floor room. I then called the week before and confirmed that I had requested a 1st floor room.

When we arrived, they would not give us a first floor room. The doormen did not offer to help us take our luggage to the lobby area, but another hotel employee did help us take our luggage to our room.

The room was very plain with hardwood floors and a small bathroom. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful about answering questions and even came to our room to fix a problem with the TV controls. Our room overlooked a side street so it was not loud or busy.

The Harrison is on a very good location on Washington Street. You can walk to many restaurants and shops. It was about a 3 block walk to the beach for a morning stroll.

We discovered that Miami taxis charge by zones. The 10 to 15 mile ride from the airport was $33 plus tip. But the 5 mile ride from the Harrison to the cruise ship was also $33 plus tip.
