Booked in for a two night stay and we were immediately blown away by the beautiful décor of this hotel, walking through the lobby you think WOW! An extensive list of restaurants and numerous pools, this place certainly wont disappoint in terms of entertainment options. The rooms are large, good air conditioning and even come with a mac computer for personal use and Molton Brown bathroom goodies. There is free wi-fi in your room and lobby, plus access to a pretty smart gym. The down side is there is no fridge and on our 5th floor room we could still hear the club below at night. For a hotel of this calibre this is pretty poor and I'm talking bring your ear plugs loud!! The music round the pool also permeates the rooms on the same side, if you want peace and quiet ask for a room far away from this, we wish we had!

The hotel also has a pool restaurant which was run by 16 year olds who had NO IDEA how to seat guests or run tables. We were told that there was a 20-30min wait for tables, even though there were about 8 free, only to them be seating 5mins later after complaining. Come on pick your game up and start learning how to train your staff or at least find better staff who know how to do their job!

The lobby bar is fun at night and great for people watching. On the Saturday evening we also paid a visit to LIV, having visit numerous clubs around the world this was a BIG disappointment. Completely overpriced (this is not Ibiza!) and the night we went they played awful trance music, we stayed for 1 hr and could bare it no more. We will not be wasting money there again. The bouncers were rude and there was no separate line for hotel guests (apparently the club is owned by a separate company). The girls hanging around the payment desks are rude and snotty, really no idea why. It's not that great!

Room Tip: Whatever you do make sure you ask for a room NOT above the club or you will be hearing the music all...

Pros: great pools (including a pool specifically for young kids complete with a water slide); terrific restaurants (Hakkasan is an excellent Cantonese restaurant); great rooms with terrific views and each room comes equipped with a Mac computer; complimentary wifi.

Cons: the lobby areas can be very loud and busy, especially on Friday and Saturday nights; there can be confusion with the numerous entrances to the hotel (note: the main entrance is the entrance between the Tresor/Sorrento wing and the main lobby, NOT the entrance in front of the main lobby); doublecheck reservation confirmations, as the hotel does not always get specific room requests correct.

We love staying at the Fontainebleau and have done so on multiple occasions when we have visited Miami for various charity events. The people watching is some of the best around. Service is friendly and usually efficient. It is also a very family-friendly hotel while also being a very hip place to stay.

Our experience at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach was fantastic from the moment we checked in. Abdel at the front desk set the right tone for our entire stay with the perfect welcome. The property, the rooms...everything was wonderful. The pool staff make you feel like you never want to leave: Alex, Johan, Luque and especially Danmar and Janelle, who go above and beyond to completely exceed expectations. We feel grateful and lucky to have spent a luxurious week with them all. :)

This was our first stay in Miami, the weather was fab and the hotel was lovely but not quite living upto the iconic idea I had before we went.

The main pool was lovely and huge but even so it became very busy in the afternoons with young people drinking, being loud and slightly unpleasent to see. The other pools are nice but small with plenty of sun lounders with staff working the loungers so everyone gets one but also those who leave their towels on them too long got removed, a policy that is often stated at hotels but rarely put into action. The staff need to be comended for this certainly. Great policy.

The choice of restaurants was good but expensive (they charged $59 for brunch in the cafe restaurant), gift shops too but these were also very expensive.

Our room was big but not anything special, we really wished we had booked a balcony which we foolishly assummed we would get in this standard of hotel.

Staff were friendly in the main and the location on the beach was amazing, however its a taxi ride to anywhere, dont go here if you like walking to site-see, there is nothing but other hotels for miles. We like to wander around and eat out but that was not an option.

Overall, I would recommed this hotel to couples (hardly any children seen) and adult friends but dont go with too higher expectation of the standard, I would rate it a 4*star. And dont have a budget to travel with, it's not the place to be careful with money.

I do not even know where to begin. On the plane I was reading all about prince william and princess kate and now i know what to say.
We absolutely felt like mini royalty as guests of the fontainebleau hotel.
As they call him little Laz so will we. What a personable, kind man he is. He made our pool experience phenomenal along with Jefferson.
The guards Gabriel and Pauline upon entering La Cote are the nicest people ever. Even they made you feel special.
The La Cote bar is great but it is not only the fabulous drinks. It is truly because of the oputstanding service.
Jimmy is unreal and just knows exactly how to make you feel happy and just perfect along with Rick and george. they treated us truly so special i cannot describe it.
Big Laz as they call him so will we is a gem they are lucky to have there.
together the pool experience was truly a dream
Eating at Scarpetto's was just perfect. Seko was so welcoming and our servers brittany, leo and JR made it a memorable experience.
we were even lucky enough to have chef scott come by which made us feel very important.
the food was outstanding
we also dined at Vida. it was outstanding and Max made it a beautiful beautiful experience
what a wonderful world it is to enter this hotel.

Room Tip: i like the location of the chateau rooms sorrento are larger

From the start it is clear the management bad one bad decision after another. The check-in is to far from the main drive and the decor is a hodge podge of bad taste. The only thing that seems to have gotten past the bad taste of the owner is great art!

The front desk gave away our room, so they tried to sell use on a great suite by over selling the amenities.... I am still looking for the jacuzzi he promised us! The room had bad climate control and smelled of mildrew and the construction was cheap and evident of the owners hubris dispute with the contractor. It seems that all millwork was missing. The door casing was falling off, the kitchenette had cheap formed doors that belonged in a garage, the bathroom had no countertop, just a pedestal sink with no room for cosmetics. The bathroom had a shelf with dirt painted into it and a hamper from pier one. I suspect that when the owner refused to pay, so the contractor refused to finish.

And then the food! We paid $75 a piece for brunch. The oysters were old, the bread was frozen, the pasties made were with margarine. For $75 the lack of attention to detail was just to great. The salad bar had chucks of carrots so large you had to cut them, the pizza needs a pizza oven not a microwave. I could go on. It was, rapacious to say the least.

This place is just not worth the money and is long past it's prime.

We planned a quick get-away to Miami and wanted to stay at a nice hotel. This hotel out did our expectations. It has 3 towers and we stayed in the tresor tower in a 1000 square foot suite with 2 restrooms, a full kitchen, a MAC computer and a fantastic view!! The valet were polite and quick considering the volumn of people. The location is great as its only a few miles from South Beach but not in the bustle of things. Samuel C. who checked us in was fantastic and made us feel welcome right away. He was so helpful about where to go, what to do and expect, he made us feel right at home and that if we needed anything we could call him. Overall great experience
