This is the second time in two years I have stayed at Hotel St. Augustine. I knew what to expect and it still lives up to my expectations. Off of Ocean, it is quite but so close to the restaurants & night life and, most importantly, the beach. Love the decor of the rooms. Naturally, the shower/sauna and bath amenities are a huge draw. I will continue to stay here for my SoBe trips.

My husband just return from hot Miami and a lovely week long stay at the Hotel St. Augustine. This was our second trip to South Beach and we really enjoyed staying in the Sofi district. Located at 4th St and Washington, the hotel is close to the beach and many excellent places to eat, but not in the middle of the chaos of Ocean Drive. The hotel staff was great. The room was impeccably clean and they offer a nice breakfast (coffee, tea, cereal, yougurt, pastries, etc.) accompanied by the New York Times. The steam shower was amazing and we followed every trip to the beach with time in the steam.
I've read complaints that it's a long walk from Sofi to other things in South Beach. We're from New York CIty and perhaps this is why walking doesn't bother us. From the Hotel to Lincoln Drive took about 15 minutes even in 94 degree heat, but for those less loving sweat, there is the South Beach local, that runs the length of Washington Ave and costs a mere $.25.

The reviews here were accurate. The location is great (three blocks from the beach), the room open and spacious with a nice big bathroom/shower. The parking lot was essential since we did much driving around the region and the off-season price was low!

Very friendly and nice staff.
Our first room had a loud a/c (probably on the way to break) and they immediately switched us to another one. Luckily there was another available...
Both rooms were not very big and had a too simple swedish style furnishing.
I noticed stains on the sofa garnments, on the carpet.
Nice marble bathrooms, with buildt in steam bath.
We don't feel that the price we paid was worth it, even if it is a great location.

Hotel is a great location: very close to South Beach (2 blocks) but just far enough away from the chaos. It is a small, peaceful & quiet haven.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Helpful but also unobtrusive. There is a complimentary breakfast--basic but all you need (cereals, pastries, juice and coffee).

The selling point has got to be the scrumptious steam-shower which is just amazing. If you want a special treat, bring your own eucalyptus oil with you. There are nice H20 toiletries and robes as well.

We ate at a couple of really good local restaurants just a block off South Beach a couple of nights when we wanted to have a more relaxing meal - would definitely recommend: La Locarna and Cafe Maurice. Both are just a 1/2 block from the hotel.

The rooms were small but immaculate. Only negative was the stairs could have used a good vacuuming. Beds were comfortable and overall I would definitely recommend and return. Great value for money.

I stayed at St Augustine for just one night, but it was worth it. In fact, it was the best bargain I´ve had in a long time. The room was very clean and there was a sauna in the bath. The shower products such as shampoos and conditioners carry the H2O brand, which I simply love.
The location is very special: if you want to stay near the buzz but sleep quietly at night, this is it. It´s just few blocks away from Ocean Drive, you can easily walk to the restaurants and bars in the area.
The only minor problem is breakfast - continental in words, but rather feeble in content.
