“Great location and great service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 November 2013

We booked the Beacon Hotel for one-night after returning from a cruise. We arrived from the cruise port quite early (around 10am) expecting to check our luggage but to our surprise, the room was already ready for us. We were also handed vouchers for free hot, plated breakfast (no tacky buffets here) which we were able to enjoy before settling in the room.

The room itself was great. Unique, boutique style decor with comfortable beds and a modern bathroom with tiled shower. The bathroom was small, but functional and the view wasn't great (an old tattered rooftop), but we weren't there to spend time in the room anyway.

The staff was wonderful - hospitable and very helpful. Always smiling and asking to make sure our stay was going well, and available to help with luggage and taxis anytime we were going anywhere.

The location can't be beat for a true South Beach experience. The boardwalk, volleyball courts and beach are right across the street and it's walking distance from Lincoln Road, Washington Ave, and other sightseeing attractions.

Beware of the expensive food & cocktails on Ocean Drive. We got one patio cocktail to people watch for awhile, but it's pricey so your best bet is to walk a few blocks and eat at the Lincoln Road Mall or places like the nearby 11th Street Diner of Food Network fame that have reasonable menu prices.

If we are in South Beach again, we will definitely look up the Beacon for another stay.

Room Tip: We asked for a room on the back of the 5th floor to make sure we could sleep. The view wasn't a...

We were were here for the first weekend of November for a quick 3 day get away. I must say that I truly enjoyed myself. The staff were very attentive and quick to help. Informative, professional, & friendly. Could not ask for more. I'm very happy to have found this gem in the heart of SoBe. I will definitely come back.

Room Tip: Conner top ocean rooms are beautiful. I think it was room 501

I visited the Beacon at the beginning of October 2013 with my sister and we were both very impressed. The reception area and room were both very well looked after, clean and modern, and, despite having one of the more modest rooms, it was bright and spacious and the facilities were just fine. The bed was comfortable and, we thought, quite new, and the shower was good - the two main things we all look for in hotel rooms!
My sister and I are in our twenties and therefore wanted a fun, lively holiday with good access to the beach, and the Beacon was absolutely perfect for this! The hotel is across the road from South Beach (which, by the way, is gorgeous!) and on the main strip so, as soon as you leave the front door of The Beacon you have plenty of restaurants and bars on your doorstep. Nightclubs such as LIV and Mansion are just a short taxi ride away - I think the fare to LIV was only $11, so not too awful!
Finally, the staff were absolutely perfect - all you could ask for, and the main reason we loved The Beacon! There was nothing that was too much trouble for them, and we felt welcome every time we walked into reception. We cannot commend them highly enough :)
All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel and this area of South Beach, and would certainly visit again - we love Miami!

We stayed one night at the Beacon Hotel! This hotel is great, it is in the heart of South Beach! You can walk to everything the beach, the bars, the restaurants & Starbucks! Breakfast & coffee awaits you in the morning! Plus, we arrived early and we were able to check in right away to a beautiful corner room that overlooked the Palm trees & beach! Room was very clean & big! Will be back! Janis O

Room Tip: We were on the top floor, corner unit, it was perfect the view was amazing!

My wife and I had never been to South Beach, and had no idea what to expect. We enjoyed 4 wonderful days at the Beacon Hotel. Although the room and its bath were small, without a lot of amenities, it was perfect since we did not plan on spending a lot of time in the room. It was clean, bright and quiet, with a very comfortable bed and a decent sized closet. Lots of hot water, big bath towels, nice bathrobes and plenty of beach towels. Maid service was great. The front desk staff were so gracious and helpful, especially Alex, and the car valet service was very convenient. I don’t know where they parked the car, but it always arrived quickly and in good condition. Not that you need a car for South Beach, but we planned day trips around the area. The hotel is right across from the beach, and near lots of clubs and restaurants. Very charming hotel!!

We just returned from a delightful stay at the Beacon Hotel in South Beach. It is a small Art Deco restored hotel right in the middle of the action and across the street from the beach. The staff could not have been any more accommodating...from check in to valet service for the car, to just about anything you asked of them, they were gracious and so helpful. They even supply chairs and beach towels for the beach that is just steps away from the hotel. The rooms are renovated and the beds are comfy. If you stay in the back of the hotel, the rooms are very quiet and you would never realize the noise of South Beach happening right outside the hotel doors. They also provide soft robes , which is such a nice touch for a most reasonably priced hotel in that area. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: For a quiet night, pick an upper level room towards the back of the hotel.
