We stayed for 2 days in June 2014 and received a very warm welcome. The staff were always friendly and the room was split level and very clean. We stayed on a half board basis and the food is good value and plentiful. They were not very inventive on the vegetarian front (offered an omelette), but they were able to make what I asked for (grilled vegetables) (although I noticed later it was on the lunch menu, so that probably helped).
Location is a long way up a very winding road out of Trento, but that means you get good views of the Brenta mountains when it is not too warm (when it gets warm, there is more cloud). We enjoyed a walk from the hotel around the three peaks (tres cimes) which still had a bit of snow on them as well as up Palon, via the very gently inclined military path. The top of Palon is a bit of a mess (top of a ski lift, an abadoned garrison and lots of mobile/satellite masts), but interesting.
We had planned to a via ferrata but it was closed due to a landslide.
The adult pool is small, so not really for swimming.
The meadows were full of spring flowers, so very beautiful.

We had three wonderful days in Hotel Montana. The lovely mountain place, the helpful staff, the delicious food and the relaxing spa were able to completely regenerate us! We will come back as soon as possible!

We stayed at Hotel Montana for four nights as part of our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel very special and we enjoyed a lovely, relaxing stay at the hotel.
We had a large family room with spectacular views over the Dolomites (when the weather behaved!).
It was a quiet time of year and we had the pool and spa largely to ourselves.
We chose to have half board (a good choice as not much else was open in the village in late September and it is a half-hour drive to Trento). The nightly dinners included ample food and the Crema Catalana for dessert was a particular favourite.
We walked up to the top of Monte Bondone a couple of times (it took an hour or so, as I recall) - a pleasant walk past autumn trees at this time of year.
The real highlight of our stay was the warm, welcoming staff - we would return for this experience alone.

The paramount aspect of this hotel is the delightful and helpful staff from the owner down.

We stayed at this hotel in summer and although it is predominantly a ski hotel it was nevertheless extremely busy and noisy with a lot of children. There are a lot of facilities in this hotel, indoor pool, volley ball, tennis court that turns into an ice rink in winter etc so it is undoubtedly ideal for families.

There is a very nice swimming pool complex with jacuzzi etc plus sauna and an extremely nice rest area with panoramic view. The sauna also has a glass wall with a panoramic view which would be spectacular in winter. There is also complementary herbal teas and water in this area.

We had a room complex that consisted of bedroom, bathroom and a room with kitchen facilities and a dinning table.

For the two nights that we stayed here we ate in the restaurant, it is a long way down the mountain! There are other hotels and eating places in the small village. The food was very plentiful and you will never go hungry in this hotel, however the food is plain cooking but tasty.

An enjoyable stay with fantastic staff but a more suitable hotel for families than couples. This hotel certainly represents good value.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view

This was my second stay at the Montana. I just stayed last year dropping off my daughter to a Volley Camp and this year the staff recognized me!!!! The staff ( many are owner's relatives) is super friendly and professional at same time. Great value, comfortable rooms, great view of the mountains. The food, inspired by the local cuisine is excellent and an amazing certified gluten free menu is available. Try the gluten free tirami-su! Perfect for children that want to explore the natural alpine surroundings . The hotel offers daily activities for them. The hotel is located only 30 minutes from the city of Trento , but it is surrounded by majestic mountains and breathtaking woods.
Overall Italian hospitality at its best!

Room Tip: We had a 4 floor room great for family
