We've stayed in many B and Bs, and while you can find excellent surroundings and good food in lots of places, the hospitality of the hosts makes or breaks a holiday. Barbara and Rob could not do enough for us, lending maps, guide books, suggesting places to eat and walk, asking us what we thought of their ideas, and even providing us with a bridge table and 4 wine glasses for the evenings! The house has been lovingly renovated with good attention to detail and comfort of the guests, and although we didn't get to try out the croquet (it was too wet while we were there) we did enjoy watching the wide variety of birds on the feeders. The choice and extent of the breakfasts were outstanding, no need for lunches! The beds were very comfortable, the shower in the wet room was just what we needed after a day's hiking, and everywhere was spotless. A lovely, comfortable place to stay, highly recommended.
