There are not enough superlatives to describe this B&B jewel. Ambience with capital "A"!Charming room (with super comfy bed), gracious hostesses, delicious breakfast. Be sure to ask about the Inn's past.. I won't spoil the surprise. Our hostesses were spot on with their recommendations and we were able to walk everywhere. Don't miss this place!!

Room Tip: We stayed in Dick's room up stairs- more private.

The Mount Dora Historic Inn is the perfect place to stay. Aside from the location... incredibly convenient... the rooms are spacious, the hosts, Anna and Debbie (unfortunately Jim wasn't there) are gracious. Breakfast was delicious . And, they were so accommodating... to my daughter's special food needs.

Room Tip: Althought Dick's room was a little more expensive, the king bed was very comfortable.

We only live 2 hours away, but Mount Dora is an adorable little town that feels like a step back in time to a slower and friendlier pace of life.

We are not usually B&B people – we avoid situations with too much socializing as we are not ones for small talk, but something told us this was worth the risk. Glad we trusted that feeling.

Debbie was the perfect gracious host. She made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay (ice for the room, map of the town, dinner suggestions, umbrella if needed), but then left us to explore and enjoy our evening. Breakfast was outstanding (stuffed French toast) – and from what we read in the guest book in our room, everyone else had the same experience no matter which offering was served. (Stay several days – they rotate entrees.) Our breakfast mates could not have been more pleasant. Debbie said they have very good luck with that. Only nice people seem to stay with them. (Note the title.) We will definitely return.

Room Tip: There is a steep, narrow staircase to the 2nd floor rooms.

My husband and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary by returning to our engagement spot at the Inn.
It was like coming home. We visited with Ana and met Debbie - we missed Jim. The inn is the same as always with the wonderful hospitality and fantastic breakfasts. When my husband told me we might miss breakfast as he had a surprise for me (it was a balloon ride), my first reaction was - it better be good if we are going to miss this meal. The balloon ride was better than I could ever imagine and we got back in time for the sweet potato pancakes (prepared at my request) and three cheese souffle. I loved the citrus vanilla soup. Each evening cookies were put out. Debbie was gracious to have a coffee maker set up for us for out 5 o'clock wake up call before balloon ride. Mount Dora is a great place to visit - we love all the little shops and restaurants, and the gorgeous sunsets. We will be back.
Hope and Jeff

We picked up my brother and sister in law at Tampa(we live in Sarasota) and had a easy ride to Mt Dora. Checked in at the Inn and headed down the street to corner Pub for sandwiches -spiceiy conch chowder and good burgers. Made our 2PM appt to go on tour of Mt Dora on Segways-great time and alot easier than we thought.-we are 66,69,70&71 years old. The choices for dinner was tremendous.
The innkeeper was wonderful, rooms just fine and the breakfast very special.

The Mount Dora Historic Inn was the perfect place for us to stay for our first trip to Mt Dora. It was really close to the downtown shops and restaurants - all within walking distance. The inn staff also made great recommendations for places to eat (don't miss The Goblin Market) and things to see. The room was quaint and clean. We were glad the inn had a nice DVD collection too when it started raining outside, which made for a nice relaxing evening in the room. The best part of the stay though was the delicious breakfasts. Thankfully we were there for two mornings and got to try the inn's two signature breakfasts - both were amazing. Thank you Ana, Jim, and Debbie for a wonderful stay in your b&b.
