Owner description: - Easy rentals at multiple locations- just show up and go! - Pick up or delivery to your home or condo - Fun affordable tours - easy online tour booking -Over 12 years in business! - Retail store where you can come in and ask questions about rentals or tours Here are some commonly asked questions about our Guided Kayak Nature Tours and Guided Paddle Board Tours -What is the process for booking my Guided Kayak Nature Tour? Simply decide which tour you would like to participate in and then click the calender on the day and time that you wish to participate. You will get a confirmation email after you book and a reciept of paynment for your tour.Your tour guide will contact you the evening prior to your tour and provide his/her cell # and make sure that you know everything that you need to know. -Is it common to give a gratuity to my guide? It is certainly customary in the United States to give a gratuity to service personel who have done a good job, just as you would at any other venue. Remember that your tour guide is checking the weather and tide, loading and unloading the kayaks and working hard to find wildlife on your kayak tour or paddle board tour. All of this is in addition to the significant investment in training and equipment that our professional guides have put forth. -Are there alligators? There are alligators in Florida. We don't really provide tours in areas that would have any real population of gators. Remember also that gators really just want to eat, sleep and make more gators. They usually eat things like fish and turtles. -What should I wear? Ideally you should protect your skin from the sun, either with Sun block or sun protective clothing. Sun protective hats and clothing are available in our retail store, Naples Outfitters at 2360 Shadowlawn Drive in Naples. -Do you have single and double kayaks? We have both. When you book your tour the booking software will ask you if you would like singles or doubles. -Are life jackets provided? Always. In fact, on nature tours our guide will require you to wear one. -What if we have never paddled before? Our guides are also instructors. Your tour will be a beginner lesson and a tour! -What if it rains? There are quite a few months in SW Florida that getting rained on can be just wonderful. However, you guide has been checking the weather carefully in an attempt to avoid lightning. If we can't go for safety reasons, or if it will be just too wet then we will gladly refund your money. Please note that our hours of operation are the retail store hours. Complete tour times are listed on the Naples Kayak Company website.

“Kayak outing”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Enjoyed our morning kayak tour in Rookery Bay. A fairly easy trip with a fair amount of wildlife to see--tour guide was informative. The island of pelicans was pretty interesting. Nice way to get out into nature!

“disappointed with our trip”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

I called Naples Kayak Company twice before we booked our trip to ask them about their trips and to explain what we were looking for. They suggested the same trip, same time of day, each time so we ended up taking a morning trip on the Isle of Capri. We were going with our young kids and wanted to see some wildlife. This was our reason for going on the trip. We hoped to get a more intimate look at the mangroves then we would if we were on an airboat and see some life. We didn't see anything on our trip, not a fish, not an alligator...and of course no dolphins or manatees. Our guide told us repeatedly that the high tide wasn't great for seeing animals. When I called twice to discuss our interests with Naples Kayak Company they didn't mention the high tide and the fact that you don't see many animals when there is a high tide. I felt that Naples Kayak could have been honest with us about what our trip would be. This was very expensive and wasn't much an experience at all.

Thank you for writing in about your experience with us and I'm really sorry to hear you did not get as much out of it as you were looking for. The Isles of Capri tour is by far our most popular with repeat customers each year mainly due to the versatility of the surroundings there. This is routinely a location where Dolphins are spotted and have the possibility of seeing almost anything aside from an Alligator there as they really do not like salt water. Of course it is not SeaWorld so you can never guarantee that you will see these things on command but roughly 90% of the time there is a good amount of all these things. Morning is generally better to see more wildlife as the later in the day you go the more they go into hiding as more people get on the water and the wind picks up. High tide is tougher sometimes to see birds in the Mangroves and the fish tend to go further back but you can see Wildlife any time of the year in almost any conditions...... if they are out. Hopefully you get to try it again sometime, maybe as a rental and get what you are looking for. Thanks for using us!!

“Kayaking in Clam Pass”
Reviewed 8 April 2014

Mateus was our guide….we had a fantastic morning kayaking through the mangroves in Clam Pass. The youngest in our group of 9 was 8 and the oldest 49 and included 3 teenagers. It was perfect for our span! Mateus was very knowledgable pointing out birds, and teaching us about the landscape. We had a fantastic time and would recommend Naples Kayak Co and Mateus. We will definitely do this again….maybe exploring one of the other trips they offer.

“Didn't see much wildlife, but waters calm, and no bugs!!”
Reviewed 19 March 2014 via mobile

Naples Kayak Co runs the kayaks out of the Nature Conservancy Visitor Center. Easy to get to location, just south of the Naples Zoo. Staff and volunteer staff are extremely kind and very proud of the operations there. Kayaking along the river winds itself thru mangrove tunnels for a short whole, but quickly opens up in to a channel that heads to Naples Bay or the opposite direction to private homes/docks. Traveling at 11:45am, we didn't see much beyond some jumping fish, bluebill herons, and some type of crane (wish I had remembered to bring my birding book). Lots of building in the area, so the sound of mechanical cranes, chainsaws and large equipment noises sorta bummed me out. However, I was thankful this tract of land has been set aside and protected. Kayaking mostly in full sun, so go early and bring sunscreen. We also brought a picnic lunch from the Whole Foods in Naples (north) and paddled to a beach/picnic area we passed heading towards Naples Bay. Rentals are for 2 hours (discount for conservancy members). Our 5 yr old enjoyed traveling in the tandem kayak. During our visit, no bugs--hooray!

“From beginning to end, great experience......”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

We called right when they opened, the young man who answered was polite and knowledgeable. He was able to put us on a tour of the Rookery Bay that was leaving at 1p.m. that same day. There were seven of us on the tour. Our tour guide was Tom. Great guy. Very experienced kayaker. Really took into consideration that there were different levels of kayaking experience between the seven of us. He made everyone feel comfortable. Very interesting information about the bay and the mangroves that we were paddling through. Would highly recommend this tour.
