Four nights in late May was hardly enough. In our first trip to southwest FL, my wife and I along with our 8 year old daughter stayed here with the "Summer Beach" package that proved to be an incredible value.
Room: Upon check-in we were promptly upgraded to a golf course view room with a balcony that was large enough to feel comfortable in even when we paired a roll-away with our king size bed. The bathroom was spacious with a wonderfully powerful shower, separate soaking tub, two vanities, and privacy closet for the toilet. We slept so well!
Food: The included breakfast for 2 started the day off right. Without the Summer package you're looking at $75 for a breakfast buffet for 2 adults, 1 kid, + included gratuity. With the package, it was a breakfast that started off our day with a bang. Loads of food to suit anyone's taste. We ate lunch and dinner at the beach resort every day (those $50/night food credits come in handy), but the opportunities for fine dining here at the Golf resort looked fabulous.
Resort: Definitely the quieter of the two Ritz locations in Naples...just a 10-15 minute drive inland from the beach Ritz...the pool area looked very nice and relaxing but we spent our days at the beach...the Fitness Center appeared top notch...the areas dedicated to the kids are a bonus that shouldn't go overlooked. The mini-theater provided relaxing movie entertainment one night, and the game room allowed dad and daughter to hone their skills at various Wii, PS3, and XBox games during an afternoon thundershower.
Notes: We utilized the shuttle service to get to the Ritz Beach resort (reviewed separately) the first day, but with complimentary valet parking included in the package (at both resorts!) we drove ourselves for the balance of the trip. Plenty of places to stop to fuel for a day at the beach between the two resorts (i.e. Publix, CVS, Walgreens, etc...)
Finally, don't forget gratuities. From the valet to the bellman, and from housekeeping to the wait staff at the restaurants, everyone goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and always satisfied...a few extra dollars here and there is well worth the cost of personalized service! The Ritz delivered on service excellence, from early check-in, room upgrade, Naples restaurant recommendations, Everglades excursion recommendations, late check out availability, and generally making you feel welcome, in luxurious accommodations.
