“No Ritz-Carlton Mattresses at this Resort!”
Reviewed 8 September 2009

If you want the Ritz-Carlton experience, stay at the beach resort. Having been to both now, the beach resort is far superior to this property across the board. Unfortunately, this property, while incredibly nice, is far below Ritz-Carlton standards in the most basic of all hotel room requirements (the mattresses). They advertise the rooms are equipped with pillow-top mattress and one expects at a minimum the standard Ritz-Carlton exclusive "The Sleep Experience" Sealy Posturepedic mattress. This property however has chosen to select a much lower quality mattress and they seem to be trying to pass it off as the standard.

Shame on Ritz-Carlton for allowing any property to damage the brand by lowering the standard.

Truly in a league of its own is any Ritz Carlton resort, and the Naples golf resort is no exception. We checked in and were greeted by every single valet, bellhop, concierge, etc. Cold water and iced tea were waiting for us upon arrival, and check-in was a pleasure. The room was on the 5th floor, overlooking the pool and golf course. The room was spacious, immaculate, and the bed ever-so-comfortable. Our favorites were the bvlgari bath products and "extra" toiletries like make-up remover, nail polish remover, etc.

The shuttle to/from the Ritz beach resort is a pleasure and only a 5 minute ride. You are treated like royalty at the beach and we really enjoyed the pool and the beach accommodations. Lounge chairs at the pool are ultra comfy, and the iced cold hand towels are a nice touch. There was also a live singer/guitarist and free mini-smoothies available.

Overall, a fantastic quiet and romantic getaway. We will definitely be returning!

We spent a weekend there to celebrate my husband's birthday. I told every reservation person and desk clerk we were celebrating, since we checked in on his actual birthdate. They said they all made note of it, but nothing special was done. Our room was small, but very nice. But, it was a connecting room which made me concerned with noise. While having cocktails after we settled in, we were told that there would not be anyone placed next to us. This held true the first night, but when we returned to our room the second, I could hear kids through the door. Luckily, they quieted down and we slept fine. The beds are fabulous, pillows a little thin for our taste. Luxurious bath and products.
I have read other reviews about this resort and knew to avoid dining there. Our bar bill attested this resort is pricey! The first morning my husband brought coffee back from Espresso. Two coffees with free refills came to $2.12...what a bargain! The next morning, the bill almost doubled. He questioned the charge and said that after 8:30 AM the price of coffee goes up!!! Sure enough, the morning before the receipt stated 8:28 AM. They should be ashamed of themselves for increasing price of coffee during the morning hours.
The second night, our daughter surprised her dad by coming down for the night. A rollaway was brought into the room. Right in the middle, springs could be felt. Too late to resquest another since it was delivered after we had left for the evening. Surprised the Ritz would have such a poor quality rollaway.
We spent a leisurely late morning and early afternoon at the pool. The pool attendant is fabulous! Followed us to our chosen lounges and completely covered the cushion in towels and placed a huge market umbrella over us. Repeatedly checked on us to be sure we were comfortable.
Tried to check out through the TV guest services option and after a few minutes, the screen said it was unable to complete our check-out. Oh, well.

The minute I arrived I was offered a cold bottle of water, the check in went quickly, everyone was very friendly and helpful from the bellman to the valet, and the front desk!
The bellman took us up to our room and explained anything we might need to know! and then I took a look around the room was clean and well appointed, we only had one problem the light bulb was out on one side of the bed and I didn't realized it until it was late in the evening so I was not able to read in bed. Ok no big deal breaker.
The restaurant at the beach resort had awesome food and wow the candy is amazing.
The buffet breakfast on Sunday was really delicious, with many choices, great coffee too
never needed to look for someone to fill our cups they were filled right away!
All in all it was a great weekend! I have already booked another weekend in sept with Mark in reservations he was very helpful. Can't wait to go back!

Great hotel. I was surprised to find a room at $139/night here. This is a TRUE Ritz Carlton. Great service, beautiful rooms, beautifully manicured lawn and property. The only small inconvenience is that the dining room was the hotel lobby bar. However, more than accommodating service didn't make it feel lacking. I wish I had more time to spend at this property - outstanding!

Stayed for 10 nights at the Golf Resort. It soon became apparent that this is the poor relation in comparison to the Ritz Beach Resort, Naples, where we stayed last year.
The hotel was very quiet and was under going maintenance, which meant the pool was out of action for 4 days. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, but there seemed very few of them.
Although our suite was in need of updating it was still very luxurious and had everything you could wish for - apart from tea and coffee. Our only complaint was the non-existent sound proofing, particularly noticeable when the adjacent room had 2 children in it!
If you are a golfer then this is the hotel for you - if you are on holiday - stay at the Ritz Beach Resort.

We vacationed here for two reasons: Golf and a nice quiet relaxing time by the pool. We got both. the Ritz golf resort is a beautiful hotel, the staff is excellent - very attentive and polite. At times it seemed there were two staff members to every one guest. It is the slow season so I would assume it's busier in the fall/winter. The pool area was always clean and quiet. There were even guests here with small children who all seemed well behaved. We a great package for our stay - free breakfast (thank goodness, because it was expensive - $25 each for every day), and a $100 resort credit - which meant we drank and ate lunch for free every day. Our room was nice - we were upgraded to a golf course view and the house keeping staff was very efficient. We golfed two days and would have gone more but it was way too hot - the heat index was over 100. The folks at the Tiburon golf course were very nice and the course was in excellent shape. A couple of things to remember - the food at both Resorts (golf and beach resorts) is so - so. We ate at the Grille Room over at the beach resort and it was great but pricey. The rest of the restaurants were basically the same. My advice - make sure you RENT A CAR! We found many great places to eat in Naples. It's a very big town and taxi rides are expensive. We ended up renting a car for three days just to explore and eat at some other restaurants in town. Places I would reccoment: Brio ( great Italian food), Trulucks ( great lobster), and Yabba Island Grill. The last two were down town by 5th avenue. It's a great place to walk around on a nice night. Stay away from Naples Tomato - it was awful and in the middle of nowhere. Lunch at the hotel gets to be redundent after a while. Do your self a favor and eat lunch at the Tiburon golf resort one or two days. the food was better and cheaper. All in all, the golf resort is quieter and you can take the shuttle to the noisier and more crowded beach resort every half hour. Beware - the Gulf of Mexico water is about 90 degrees and it's hot on the beach in July (duh!). The Ritz Carlton Golf Resort makes you feel like a king!
