“Great location & hotel”
Reviewed 12 December 2013

Located only 10mins walk from the centre of town and the beach the Cove Inn provided a great base for a 3 day trip. There was even a couple of restaurants & bars within a couple of minutes walk of our room although food serving stops a lot earlier than we are used to in Europe! Rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable and the reception staff were very friendly and provided a warm welcome. The diner, located in the hotel, provided great value breakfasts but be warned it is very popular however, well worth the wait for their delicious french toast or pancakes. I would definitely recommend this place!

Room Tip: Most rooms have a view of the swimming pool & marina so you can't go wrong!

There are certainly more luxurious (and pricier) hotels in Naples, but we couldn’t be happier with the Cove Inn in terms of amenities and bang for our buck. Our room (first floor bayside efficiency #106) was on the more private end of the inn away from the pool and tiki bar (which really never got overly boisterous). Our room (beachy, bright, spacious and clean) had a partial view of the marina, and overlooked pretty tropical foliage. My only complaint is that the wall AC unit (inside and on the patio) and interior ceiling fans were noisy. We took advantage of the pretty grounds and scattered seating areas to enjoy an evening cocktail before walking to a 5th Ave. or 3rd St. restaurant for dinner. There are two restaurants, a coffee shop, and a pool bar on site and countless others within walking distance. We walked a bit farther to the Naples Pier/beach to see the sunset one evening, but if you are carrying chairs/cooler you will need to drive. The surrounding area is safe and upscale and we had no issues walking back to the inn after dark. Keep in mind that the guests here are mostly well-behaved retirement age, if that matters to you (that might change in high season though). We will return.

Room Tip: Second floor Bayside for both privacy and view

I booked our stay four months ahead, after being assured that the type of room I wanted was available. When we arrived, that was however NOT what they had reserved for us. I would not have booked the kind of room we ended up with, but was not prepared to lose my deposit, so we stayed. We got 10% off as compensation, which is the same discount that we would have gotten anyway as AAA-members. Not a good deal.

If you book here, make sure you call them on a good old fashioned phone, as it seems they are not able (or can't be bothered) to connect information given by e-mail with bookings made on their website.

The room was clean and fresh with a nice view over the harbor. Not much privacy though, people walk by all the time and one of the restaurants were just across from us. The air conditioning units were quite noisy. We measured the ambient noise level on our balcony, it was 67 dB. That equals someone talking non-stop three feet away from you - so you have to raise your voice to keep up a normal conversation on top of this. We found it tiring. There is also noise from the harbor, people working on their boats with power tools etc.

We will not stay at Cove Inn again and I would not recommend the place to a friend.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations. I wish that you would have given us the opportunity to correct the situation before your departure.
We are located on Naples Bay with a working marina on property, as well as two full service restaurants. Most of our guests enjoy the activity and convenience this provides. We do have individual air conditioning units, these do tend to be louder than a central system and we are investigating and alternative system. Again, thank you for your comment, and I do hope you will give us another try.

This is a simple but decent motel on the waterfront. The rooms are all privately owned and rented out, so they're all different, but the one we had was comfortable, clean and tidy, if a little dated. It had a nice balcony overlooking the marina.

It's in a good location, with a few bars and restaurants just a few steps away.

Overall a good choice.

We arrived at noon and was told to come back at 4. We were not offered to use the pool ect until our room was ready. When we did check in the room beside ours was being remolded. It was horrific beyond description. The pictures on our walls were moving and the noise from power tools were horrible. We had been up since 3am and it was 4pm and we wanted a nap. We were told to go to the pool until 5 and have a drink(not free). We were told they would stop until Monday at 10am. On Monday the construction started at 8am. We left the property 3 days early and was treated very rudely by the front desk who offered only $50 refund. Luckily a manager heard and came out and refunded us all but 1 night. Another big complaint is the fact the pool bar is not owned by the hotel. The bar has 3 boat slips that were never used during our stay. We rented a boat for a day and pulled into the bar slips for a noon lunch by the pool. We were told to leave the slips immediately despite the fact we were staying at the hotel and were going to eat and drink at the bar. Like I said in the 3 days the slips were not used for 1 second. All in all it was the worst experience of our travels. I didn't even mention the red ants in the bathroom they tried twice to spray for. Dirty, old, outdated and rude. Horrible for a town as nice as Naples.

Room Tip: We went to the beach resort and it was great

Thank you for your comments. I sincerely apologize for the service you received during your visit with us. As a condo hotel, sometimes unit owners decide to do renovations on their units. Once you brought the situation to our attention, the work was halted. I will pass your comments regarding the Chickee Bar boat slips to the owner. Thank you again for your feedback.

We have stayed at the Cove Inn quite a few times over the past 4 years and we have never been disappointed .Each time we visit it is always clean well run and friendly . We stayed for 2 nights just over week ago after moving on from Marco Island . The efficiency we stayed in had everything you could need and the hotel is in walking distance of Tin City and 3rd and 5th avenue where all the bars and restaurants are . I would like to thank all the staff for making all our stays really pleasant ones keep up the good work , we love your hotel .

We booked this hotel because of its location and it didn't disappoint. Right by the marina and docks, the view across the water from our balcony was spectacular. There are several restaurants within walking distance and the beach, Naples pier, Tin City and the docks are all very close.

The decor in the apartments seem to have mixed reviews but they are privately owned and therefore vary. Ours was really nice. Everything worked and the beds were really comfortable. OK there's no dishwasher, but there's daily maid service including the washing up!

This hotel is like a step back in time with old fashioned friendly service. Yes we had stairs to the apartment (there are elevators in the middle of the building if you wish) but the views were amazing. Yes the cafe on site only did straight coffee and not sixteen types of latte, but the food was good and freshly cooked. Yes I had to get my own drinks at the pool, but there was no annoying piped music to spoil my relaxation.

And don't think because it's a little old fashioned that the facilities are not available . Check in and out was efficient, there's a PC and printer for guest use in reception and the WiFi was faster than many upmarket hotels I have stayed in.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay and would definitely stay again

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room on bayside
