“Highly recommend Naples Bay Resort”
Reviewed 30 March 2014

We spent 6 nights in Naples Bay Resort in March 2014 and had a wonderful time. The room was comfortable and clean and decorated nicely. The staff were all wonderful and helpful. It is a short walk to dining and shopping and a 20 minute walk to the beach. For those who don't walk there is shuttle that runs hourly into town. They have a terrific fitness center and 2 pools and 2 hot tubs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will stay there again.

I'll be brutally honest:
- I got a sense that the development is struggling a bit. It was spring break season and there was not a lot of guests (not complaining, but some more social folks may not like it). The retail shops were deserted (except bonefish which was busy). Tennis pro shop did not keep regular hours. On our three visits to tennis courts (between 9 and 5), shop was closed twice. But on one occasion, staff person from the fitness center opened it up for us to get rackets and balls. When the pro shop was open, staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The fine dining restaurant looked mostly empty on most nights. The breakfast buffet option at the yacht club offered little variety and was not well attended.
- got upgraded to one bedroom and was very thankful. But had strange issue with the room door not locking behind us without some toying with handle and inserting card. Room was near busy street and flight path, but still quiet when windows and balcony shut.
- grounds well kept and service was great. Maryland was big help.
- stayed at hotel. Was not a fan of the overall layout. Did not like the 10 min walk to main pool area.
- but with all that said, I may still come back because of the service and if I get another free upgrade (assuming place is still in business).

Dear section1248,

Thank you for your "brutally honest" comments about the Naples Bay Resort. It is refreshing to see that while the hotel and Resort are at a 96% occupancy for the month, it can still appear to some that the place is a private retreat! We are spread out over 22 acres which allows guests freedom to choose their location of interest, while not necessarily seeing everyone that is checked into the Resort.
The Cottages accesses 108 units, of which all 2 & 3 bedrooms and are situated by the Club. The Club which has the various pools, including the lazy river, spa, tennis and Blue Water Grille. I will pass along your comments to the Club manager about the tennis pro shop, as for most of the season our concerns were are not enough free court times available to visitors as the courts always seem to be in use.
The Hotel offers 85 rooms of which the majority are spacious 1 or 2 bedroom suites. Each suite includes a full kitchen, washer/dryer and balconies, most of which overlook the Marina.
In addition to the rooms, the Ships Store offers 24 boats for lease, paddle boards, kayaks and bikes, most of which are fully commited each day by our guests. Therefore, I can understand the percepton of no one around, due to the fact that many of our guests are out exploring all that the area has to offer!
We are thrilled that the customer service was the most positive of your comments! We aim to please, and then some, and based on your comments we are succeeding. Please have no fear, we will be in business for a long time to come, and look forward to a return visit to the Naples Bay Resort !!

Thank you again for your comments on Trip Advisor and please feel free to contact me directly should you have any questions or wish to have the upgrade on your return visit!

Warm regards,
Lisa

Although it is on 5th Avenue there is a several minute walk to where the main action is located. I drove down 5th and easily found a parking place at night.

The recently renovated room is nice but it is small, especially for the price. There are several restaurants very close including the hotel's outside bar and restaurant on the water.

Dear WmKay,

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your most recent visit to the Naples Bay Resort on Trip Advisor. While I wouldn't say we exceeded your expectations, it was good to see you were able to enjoy some aspects of your visit. 5th ave is relatively close in walking, driving or catching one of the hotels complimentary shuttles. Whichever option you choose the area offers much to see and do!
On the flip side - I would like a chance to discuss your room. As the rooms are not yet do for renovation and we have not renovated any of the hotel rooms I am curious as to the room you are referring to? If you have a moment please feel free to give me a call..

Thank you again for your input on the Resort - We hope to see you again here at the Naples Bay Resort should you find yourself on a return visit to the Naples area.

Warm Regards,
Lisa

My husband and I recently had a wonderful time this year at the resort. We again requested a quiet room facing the marina and our request was honored. The room was almost a suite--it has a complete cooking kitchen stocked with all pots, pans, dishes, utensils. You are given tiny dish washing liquid, sponge, and paper towels and morning coffee and tea to get you started. So if you don't want to eat out every meal, you're all set. Washer/dryer is also in the room and our bathroom was huge.
We had a fresh breakfast every morning outside at the yacht club facing the lovely small pool and marina. You're on the flight path to Naples airport. We found it fun to watch the planes about every 10 minutes. The building is so well built you don't even realize their sound until you are in this location. All wait staff, especially Sandy, were very nice. Fresh omelets, fresh fruit, waffles, bacon, sausages, yogurt, pastries, are available. It's about a 8-10 minute attractive walk to the main pool area which is lovely and great for families and adults. But a shuttle is available and available to the beach too. A good fitness center is at the pool too. I loved the adult only lap pool and food is available at the pool.
Every staff member from check in-( Britt, Juliana) to the concierge (Marilyn) to our maid and other cleaning staff, that we met was cheerful, polite and just wanted to be helpful. Naples Bay is unpretentious, relaxing, clean and in a great location.

Room Tip: Ask for upper floor facing the water

Naples Bay Resort is a very nice 4 star resort in a very great location in the heart of Naples. We were upgraded to a cottage from a one bedroom suite. The cottage was very large, had a full kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a screened in porch. The linens and bed were very comfortable and the place was very clean. It had three flat screen TVs and was very close to the pool area.

The resort is very large and spread out over several blocks. What prevents this hotel from become a true 5 star hotel is service. The service is just ok...nothing near the service of a true 5* hotel (Four Seasons, Ritz, etc). There was one person at the front desk, no bell service (at least they did not approach us). We paid a large amount to stay here and could not check in until 4pm and checkout was noon (so you don't even get near 24 hours in the room).

The pool area is great!!! Several pools, an adults only pool, a lazy river, several waterfalls, and two hottubs. There is a nice bar/grille near the pool with good food and drinks. The fitness center is also very nice with ample equipment.

On the whole, this place is nice specifically if you get a good deal online. The location is nice as you are near Tin City and downtown naples. There is no beach so do not come here if you want a hotel on the beach.

Dear andrew_branham,
Thank you for your honest critique of Naples Bay Resort, we welcome all input about the Resort, staff, accommodations and amenities. Comments from our guests are essential to us both good and bad as they allow us to encourage and compliment the good while expand, improve and restructure the bad.

Although I was happy to see some aspects of your stay were enjoyable, I am sorry to say that did not "exceeded your expectations", and for that I am truly sorry. To say we missed the mark is disheartening, however has allowed us insight to areas of improvement.

As mentioned in your review the Cottages and Club facitilites often receive high praise overall from our customers; however the comments regarding the Front Desk and Bell staff is concerning. I have reviewed your comments with the team. Typically, our Front Office staff is rated high in terms of service and accommodating requests; like an early check-in or late check-out. That said, our front office and bell staff handle multitudes of interactions a day, and there are times we that we as a Resort need to do better.

I appreciate that you took the time to rate the the Resort and hope that you will return again.

Warm Regards,
Lisa

We stayed five nights in December, then five more in March and did not use many of the amenities. We liked the marina side though the canal view was quiet also. One or two small, fairly quiet jets passed overhead occasionally. Our Jr. suite with its full kitchen was sparkling clean, comfortable, and perfectly appointed though not pretentious. We loved the effective nightly sign "We're too fabulous to be disturbed" and the daily delivered USA Today, the coffee maker and coffee. Suggestion: furnished tea bags would be nice. Also, perhaps fitted sheets since the bottom sheet always "untucked" when pulling back the covers. Pillows were a little inconsistent, some soft and comfy, others quite firm. Furnished robes and two complete bathrooms were two nice luxuries. Best of all, the entire staff was superb! Big hugs and appreciation to Roxanne for her care and attentiveness. She made us feel like family and was the primary reason we returned to the Naples Bay Resort.
A small lobby bar would have added a little convenient European touch but the downstairs congenial casual bar-restaurant, the Bonefish Grill, sufficed with both indoor and patio dining, a nicely varied menu and a great Happy Hour. One of Naple's best restaurants, Mereday's is located farther down the complex as is the breakfast venue, offering a buffet or a cold selection. A hundred restaurants I swear, line 5th Ave., and 3rd St. Tin City, the Visitors' Center and 5th Ave. are an easy walking distance from the hotel. We shall return!

Room Tip: Ask for the Marina side. You may glimpse the hotel's water shuttle or a yacht going by.

Dear millikin,

It is always thrilling to read about our guests who visit multiple times over the years who continue to enjoy the Naples Bay Resort and share their experiences with Tripadvisor! Thank you so much for taking the time, we genuinely enjoy the our "family support" of our loyal guests!!

Your comments regarding the size and comfort of your guestroom are also most appreciated. I understand the pillow situation, as it sounds like we might have missed an exchange as we have recently switched out the pillows in each room. I have forwarded on your comments to housekeeping, not only about the pillows, but the bottom sheets too. Mayhap on your next visit the sheets maybe changed as well, as we are consistently seeking options that work for everyone.

Once again thank you so very much for your positve review of the Naples Bay Resort! We await your return.

Warm Regards,
Lisa
