My husband and I stayed here for a weekend in June, 2014. The hotel itself is very nice and the staff was nice enough and helpful. We stayed in a King Superior Room (with a marina view). We thought our room would be amazing considering the description, but it was just okay ... nothing really special. We stayed at a Hilton the week before, right on the beach, and paid less for a beach front room that we felt was nicer than our room at Naples Bay Resort. Since we didn't go during "peak" season and prepaid, the rate for this room was much lower than normal. I don't think I would pay the higher, regular rate as we didn't feel the room was worth that price.
The shower in the bathroom looked dirty, and there were some small stains in the carpet, so that was a bit off-putting. We also paid a little more for a better view of the marina, but there was a large tree right in front of our balcony so we couldn't see much of anything...
The amenities were great though. We loved the pool area and hot tubs and spent an entire day lounging there. We ordered from the Bluewater Grill while we sat by the pool and the food was delicious! The only annoying part was the distance between the hotel and pool area. I understand the space is limited there, and the main focus is being on the canal, but I guess we didn't realize how far away it was. The nice part was that there were locker rooms right off the pool so that we could change before making the trek back to our room.
We were also concerned that there was a room service charge to our room that we never ordered, but the lady at the desk took care of it right away without any issues. I'm just glad I asked her to print our receipt and checked it first! I also didn't realize there would be a $25 a night resort fee until after we'd already booked the room (it was in the confirmation email), so that would be nice to know before booking since it's not an optional fee.
Overall it was just okay, not terrible, not amazing. We'll definitely go back to Naples but I don't think we'll stay at Naples Bay Resort.
