“It all about the sunset!”
Reviewed 2 February 2013

Stayed at the Ritz in Naples (on the beach) after being asked to move from Ritz Golf Resort due to overbooking. They upgraded our room and gave us a better room, high floor with spectacular views of the beach, water and amazing sunsets.

Breakfast buffet was really quite good. Several beach restaurants.

In Naples, its all about that sunset and the Ritz was a perfect place to stay and enjoy it!

Our reservations for the Ritz were made months in advance & we traveled over 2,000 miles to get there. We arrived with much enthusiasm & anticipation for our 4 night stay. Of course rooms at a Ritz are a premium investment which you know ahead of time. We checked in around 5:00 pm. The woman checking us in said not all their rooms were made up yet. We requested a room with an ocean view (who doesn't?). She said she'd give us a nice room. The room itself was fine but the view was beyond disappointing. With the view being a rooftop, ventilation pipes spewing steam, a parking garage, dumpsters, construction equipment, etc. it considerably negatively impacted our stay. The attached photos will illustrate the view from room 417 & that whole side of the resort. Rooms with such a "view" should be 1/2 the price of the other rooms & guests should be notified before arrival. Had we been aware of the placement we received in the Ritz would we have gone to all the extraordinary efforts to get there, absolutely not.

Room Tip: If the desk clerk can not tell you the room is an ocean view, know that a "nice" room is o...

I stayed at The Ritz Naples for 4 days. I was there to photograph a wedding; and what an amazing location for a photographer! So many beautiful areas to shoot. It's one of those dream locations. I then stayed a few extra days for fun. I spent a whole day in the spa and it was AMAZING! But most of all I enjoyed the kind and superbly professional staff. It is what sets the Ritz apart from all other hotels.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting on nice beach. Very friendly staff provided outstanding service. Property itself is fabulous - two large pools (1 adult, 1 family); tennis courts; beautiful, large spa; gorgeous beach with plenty of chairs, umbrellas, etc. placed and dressed with towels by ample beach staff (extra charge for umbrellas); very good restaurants - the Grille, lovely for dinner; Gumbo Limbo, great for lunch and drinks facing the Gulf; the Terrace, outstanding breakfast buffet with the best sticky pecan buns and omelets; the Bar for drinks, sushi and big screen TVs. Check out the couple of nice shops 'hidden' on the basement level. Our room was fine - nothing special, but clean, well-appointed. Did not love the shower-in-tub and single bathroom sink; and there was a very noisy couple in the room next to us. Hotel itself is about a 20 - 25 minute drive from very nice 'downtown' Old Naples shops & restaurants (which are well worth a visit); but you could easily spend a couple of days just enjoying yourself on-property at the Ritz. Everything is pricey - food, rooms, spa treatments - but worth the splurge.

We just stayed here for a week. My husband had a convention there, and it could not have been nicer. The beach is lovely with powdery white sand and ample seating. Pool was also lovely with friendly and courteous pool attendants. It would have been nice to have a bit more pool staff to order drinks from! Our room was lovely and immaculately kept. Valet staff was exceptional. Can't say enough great things about this Ritz, and we have been to many of them. We will be back!

Room Tip: Ocean front and ocean view are very comparable; both are excellent.

Balancing elegance and beachside comfort is not always easy, but the Ritz gets it right in Naples. The hotel architecture is classic Ritz, but its done in a way that still lets you be comfortable in flip flops. I especially like the beachfront boardwalk restaurant facing the sand and sea. Naples is a not inexpensive location and the rooms here don't come cheap, but if you're willing to pay for an elegant-yet-comfortable beachfront hotel you won't be disappointed.

Had my wedding at the Ritz. The service was impeccable and impeccable, everything you would imagine at a 5 star resort and more! Brigitte and James did an amazing job! Can't wait to go back for our anniversary!
