Generic really nice, fancy hotel. No complaints at all--the service was good, nice room, great food, nice (if crowded) beach. Lots of young children. The spa was very nice, although a bit strange because you have to go through public areas between spa services. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel. I would just say there was nothing particularly memorable or special about it compared to other resorts/hotels of similar class.

Just completed a 4-night stay with my husband and our 19-month old daughter. This hotel really exceeded expectations on service, especially as relates to families traveling with children. Some highlights:
1) Restaurants - the servers in the restaurants were exceptionally friendly and prompt. They brought out a high chair, kids menu, and crayons/coloring book right away for us without prompting. Also, the prices for kids items were reasonable ($11 for breakfast, $16 for dinner, including an entire meal and drink). There was also a great variety of dining options: Gumbo Limbo outdoor restaurant right on the beach, pool restaurant, Terrace restaurant (casual Italian with lots of free candies and cookies), Sushi bar (a pretty lively crowd in the evenings) plus the more formal restaurants.
2) Beach/Pool - fantastic facilities. Lap pool for adults was never crowded, big free-form pool for families, separate kiddie pool with fountains, plus a plunge pool on the roof of the spa. The hotel was full during our stay and we never had trouble getting chairs or attendants. The beach is also great - they will set you up with a cabana, umbrella and chairs and even provide beach toys. The sand is much softer than the east coast of Florida - it is powdery soft with really pretty shells. Facing west is also really nice because you can enjoy the sun and face the ocean all afternoon.
3) Concierge/Babysitting - this deserves a special mention. Not only did the hotel arrange a wonderful babysitter for a couple of nights, they even arranged for a doctor to make a house call to the hotel when our daughter was running a high fever. This was so much better than going to a clinic/hospital during our trip. Also, Joe Jo at the concierge desk was truly fabulous - a wonderful personality and his name alone got us to the top of the wait list at the most popular restaurants in downtown Naples.
4) Rooms/Indoor Facilities - yes, the rooms are 4-star and not 5-star as has been noted in prior posts. The tubs have shower curtains (although they are very clean) and the mattress on our bed was not as firm as I would have liked. However, we had a great balcony overlooking the pool and ocean, we never heard any noise between the walls, and the sliding glass doors completely blocked out all the noise from the outside even when there was a band out by the pool. The spa is very good, the gym is large with lots of cardio and weight equipment, and there are many locations on the propery inside and outside the hotel to find a comfortable chair and enjoy a cold drink. There are also a number of good boutiques on property and an ATM.
In summary, we had an excellent experience at the hotel. The friendliness of the staff, the proximity to the beach, the array of on-site dining options, and the excellent facilities for kids made it superior even versus other excellent Ritz Carlton's we've tried (including Key Biscayne, South Beach, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and Jamaica).

It seems this hotel has an almost legendary reputation so our expectations were high. Friends have raved about it, travel magazine lists rank it high, and fellow trip advisor members rate it very highly. Everyone was right, this is a very nice hotel with outstanding service, good food, and a prime location, but we felt the hotel fell short in one important area, the hotel itself.

When it was built 25 years ago, it was no doubt the last word in luxury. The hotel has been renovated since then but you can still see the age of the hotel in several areas. Ritz Carlton has helped raise the bar and older properties like this cannot compete even after renovations.

Our room was very nice but a little short on space compared to newer luxury hotels. The bathroom had one sink and a shower tub combination. There was a separate water closet. The hallways are kind of drab. The elevators have dark wood paneling and dark colored oriental carpets. There is a fair amount of paneling in the common areas of the hotel and bathrooms on these levels have large amounts of green marble that scream the 80's (a good decade for music - but not as much for decor.) Other than the rooms, the rest of the interior of the hotel has the feeling of a city hotel in the northeast.

The layout of the hotel is also not ideal. You cannot see the beach from the lobby, both pools, and most restaurants. A quick trip to the Ritz Carlton Golf Resort on the hotel shuttle revealed a similar situation and conclusion.

As stated, this is a very nice hotel with a lot to offer and outstanding, friendly service. But it is not the ultimate Ritz Carlton resort hotel. We thought the Ritz in Orlando which is less then ten years old was nicer, as just one example.

The Ritz-Carlton Naples Beach Hotel in Naples, FL is my favorite hotel in the entire US! It is a resort hotel so plan on being pampered during your stay. Gorgeous sunsets, miles of sandy white beaches, 2 pools, tennis courts & golf is available at the nearby golf resort! And that is just the outside! Inside you have a lovely lobby, great concierges to assist with anything you may need, a fantastic fitness center, and a world-class spa that is just marvelous! Dining options are plentiful --whether you want to have a casual or upscale meal. The Gumbo Limbo and The Terrace are great casual outdoor dining options and the Sunday Brunch at The Terrace is an experience and not to be missed! They just added a new Sushi Bar that I did not try on this trip but I have heard rave reviews about. They have a great coffee shop in the lobby for a quick java in the morning or to appease your sweet tooth at night with delicious gelatos! The upscale Grill Room is amazing. Club Level is great and you get 5 food & beverage presentations daily and you never have to leave your floor! If you don't want to ever leave your room then please don't shy away from the always bad-rap of in-room dining, it is fabulous here and rivals most downrown resturants! And don't forget to have an after dinner drink in the lobby and listen to some talented musicians! In fact the food and ambience is so great here, after 5 days with a rental car we turned it back in! We did not need the car as we never wanted to leave the hotel!
We return each year to celebrate our anniversary and each year it just gets better & better! If you can only take one vacation a year then this is the place to do it! It is truly heaven on earth!

From check in to checkout, this hotel is amazing. The pools, the beach, the amenities are superb. The club level rooms are worth the extra money because the food and services are incredible. I wish I could afford to spend a weekend here every month!!! Definitely will return with my wife as soon as possible.

Face it - all the Ritz Carltons are rather great hotels. But some simply seem better than others. The one in Naples - the beach Ritz, is one of the tops (of the 20-25 in which I have stayed). First, their staff is not as scripted as other RC's - they are more spontaneous and seem to listen more to your needs. Secondly, you can tell that this one has management that keeps its attention on the small details. The painting is updated (no chipped woodwork to be found) and the corners are cleaned. Finally, the quality of the service, the food, and the property is second-to-none. The top restaurant, The Grill, is top class, but they do not act like they are "all that and a bag of chips" (I have had all I need of the snooty Ritz Carlton restaurants - after all, they are just hotel restaurants.) This Ritz is a pleasure.

It lives up to being the Ritz flagship....we have stayed in 5 R-Cs and this one is the most formal...but still very friendly. They have figured out that they can't live on old money alone any more...and actually welcome conference guests and mere mortals like us. Great facilities and restaurants and very comfortable rooms.
