“Hotel was lovely!”
Reviewed 29 August 2012

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and we stayed when hurricane Isaac hit us! The hotel it's self was lovely but they do not seem to care about their residents. We could not use any of the fertilities as the wind was bad and the only thing the hotel did was leave the residents a piece of paper saying the golf course is closed etc. They didn't have free food or drinks for any of the guests and even though the other fertilities were closed they did not offer us a discount of the spa!

I just returned from a 3 night stay at this amazing Naples Hotel. They definitely understand what the word service means! I particularly appreciate the fact that housekeeping didn't come knocking at 9am but did a great job cleaning my very spacious room and made sure I had enough towels and bath supplies. The hotel also offers good security measures to ensure guest safety by the need of a key card to get into the pool area, unit buildings and elevators. The service around the pool was also great. Staff periodically making sure you were ok and also built onto the loungers are these flag things you can raise (like on a mailbox) letting the staff know you would like service. I enjoyed one meal around the pool but for other meals I traveled to other favourites that I had to hit before returning to Canada. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would love to return the next time I travel to Naples. The neighbouring mansions also make for extra special scenery while driving around. Only mins to downtown Naples, Tin City and the Pier.

This was a very clean and well presented hotel, it is in a lovely location especially watching the sunsets in the evening. The room that we stayed in in the Watkins building was large and well equipped. I would definitely stay here again but would recommend anyone staying here to drive down to 5th Avenue and take your pick of any of the restaurants for your evening meal as these are less expensive. Breakfast at the hotel cost $40 for 2 but in a coffee shop on 5th Avenue it cost $12 for the both of us, over 5 days that is quite a saving. Another expense was a charge of $10 a day for the internet which we did not use as most places you go to are free.

When checking in the receptionist told us we had $10 each a day to spend within the hotel, on checking out we were told that it was $10 for the both of us a day and we had been told by mistake. Which you can imagine was not very favourable. They didn't acknowledge our complaint very well as it seemed to fall on deaf ears. The young manager on duty seemed quite inexperienced and really didn't know what to say.

I would still recommend this hotel as a relaxing place to stay.

We just returned from a 4 night stay. We upgrade to a gulf view room. We were on the 9th floor of the Watkins building facing north. It was beautiful. The room and the service was fantastic! Nightly turn down with chocolates on the pillows was a nice touch. Breakfast across the street was great! I highly recomend the French Toast or the Belgian Waffles. If you're a golfer, this course is a must. Two of us played 9 holes with rented Cobra and Titleist clubs including a power cart for $100. Everyone was soooo friendly at this hotel. I'll be putting it on my yearly must go list. The beach here is fantastic as well. It was nice to be able to walk out the elevator and be on the beach in just a few steps. I highly recomend it.

Cleanliness
The shower had mold/mildew and I killed a roach in our bathroom.

Location
It is a short drive to the shops/restaurants in Naples but not within walking distance
The pool is great and so is the beach. The food was below average and very expensive. You are better off eating some where else.

Rooms
The rooms were updated enough for my taste. We were lucky and some how ended up in an end bedroom which not only scored us a larger room, but also the best view. Not all rooms are like this, we went with a large group that took up almost the whole floor and we were the only lucky ones.

Service
We were granted early check in (2pm instead of 4pm) but when we got there they said they could no longer give us early checkin. We had 3 kids which needed to go down for naps ASAP. This put us in a horrible situation. The rooms were not ready until 4:20 which was 20 minutes late from the original time. Also at one point I was lost on the resort complex and couldnt find an English speaking employee who could assist me.

First we paid extra to have a gulf front room which was a good block from the gulf. In addition, there were buildings and the bar in front of our room so you couldn't see any of the gulf. The room had been renovated and was very nice. We complained and were moved into the main building of the resort. We packed up and carried our luggage down the flight of exterior stairs and across the resort and were placed in a gulf front room. This room had an extremely narrow balcony and overlooked the roofs with all of the vents. But, off in the distance you could see the gulf! The room was dirty, the bathroom door was broken and the TV did not work. The TV was fixed in 2 days and the bathroom door never was right. Because it is a resort you have the pleasure of spending an additional $10 a day for internet service. We did not eat at the restaurant because I find $30 for a piece of chicken ridiculous. We were there for a destination wedding which was done nicely and very pretty. I would not recommend spending your money on the place.

Hotel is older looking, but the grounds, pools, bars, are all great. Beach is beautiful!
Customer service is wonderful. Really nice people throughout the resort. They have all kinds of room types; we have only stayed in the Watkins Bldg., and we love it; especially for the jazz on the lawn concerts. Love 5th Avenue and all areas around there, especially Tommy Bahamas. They always have music of some sort. Nice touch. We've been going to this resort for a few yeaars now, and will be going back in the near future.

Room Tip: We always stay in Watkins Bldg., with a gulf view. Balconies are huge, and if you are there for the...
