“Continuing visits”

We have been coming to this hotel for a number of years for an extended visit. It remains very much in the Marriott fold with recent changes made to the dining arrangements. Whilst these changes are undoubtedly popular with the 'grab and go' business community, they are less welcome with the vacation visitors to SW Florida who might be looking for a more relaxed experience. That said, everything else remains the same, particularly the quality and friendliness of the staff, who are outstanding and very well led by the management. We will return!

Room Tip: Suites are ideal for long term stayers

I arrived at the Courtyard in Naples after a really enjoyable Airboat ride in the Everglades. My first impression of the hotel was that it was very clean, spacious and modern.I was allocated a room on the 3rd floor. There just happened to be a soft drink vending machine and an ice-making machine right next to my room door.I thought "Oh No",but I need'nt have worried as I could only hear the ice-making machine when someone actually used it.
The spacious room had a huge King size bed,Wide screen TV,Coffee making facility(there was no tea unfortunately) and an Iron/Board.The good sized En-Suite had the usual supply of clean towels and toiletries.
There is Internet access in all rooms and also a couple of complimentary computers for guests to use in the Lobby area.I did not have breakfast in the hotel,so I can't comment.A safety deposit box is available by contacting the front desk.I stayed at the Courtyard,Naples for one night only and was pleasantly satisfied and would recommend.

This Courtyard was a bit of a question mark in my mind when visiting Naples for a business conference as the core of the hotel is an older Courtyard design. However, I was quite surprised when I entered the lobby and found it fully modernized with contemporary furnishings and a dining area/bar offering a variety of food options. The new furnishings are a bit Ikea-like, but fresh and well designed. The lounge areas were well maintained and offered the creature comforts most would expect. We had two rooms and both were very clean and recently renovated with a nice Floridian feel. The beds were reasonable, but could have been more comfortable. The linens were fresh and clean. The internet was a bit slow, but if you plan to sit inside a hotel on the computer in the wonderful Florida weather, you are likely missing out anyhow. The hotel staff was pleasant and professional, especially the woman who checked us in. She brought an extra layer of warmth to our Florida experience. My only real criticism is that the pool area is in need of furniture repair. Many of the pool chairs had broken webbing which made their use awkward and uncomfortable. The pool was well maintained, as was the hot tub. They also offer a nicely shaded gazebo if you wish to take a break from the sun. The landscaping is well maintained and though the physical outdoor space is a bit small, it feels private and welcoming. One of the previous reviewers mentioned a musty smell. There is a sense of moisture due to the humidity in the area, but I found the new carpeting to be fresh and the hotel, in general, to be very welcoming. The staff and upgrades are a nice surprise, working beyond expectations for an older model Courtyard. Good value and comfort for the price.

Room Tip: Several of the rooms feature open balconies. These are worth the extra $. No ocean view, but fresh...

We stayed only one night with my Mom and we were very disappointed not only because the bad service but with what I describe below:

Bad smell in the room like dampness or mold.
And when turning on The little light in the bathroom exhaust fan sounded like a plane and the noise was very unpleasant.
A dark bathroom with a very slippery tub and there was dirt on the walls like mildew and grease stuck a stained shower curtain with no functionality.
The TV did not work properly and could not find local channels.
At 8 am there was a lot of noise and people screaming and laughing in the hallway and we could not sleep.
Conclusion: if you are going to pay 150 or more for one night in a hotel room try other choices, becuase Here at Courtyard Naples you definitely feel you lost your money.

We used our points to stay here and the points used were overcharged by far. The lobby has been remodeled so it was appealing. But, the halls and rooms needed such an updating. Chipped paint on doors and walls could be seen. There were very few plugs in the room so had difficulty finding plugs for our computers, phones, etc.
The bathroom lighting was very dim and impossible to apply makeup. The hotel is very outdated and unappealing.
There are computers in the lobby to use for printing boarding passes. I was unable to do so on a couple of them so it was a waste of time.

Staff is very friendly, beds comfortable, and room had standard things in it. We enjoyed the loveseat and coffee table rather than the standard 2 chairs with a table. I am sure in warmer weather we may have enjoyed the balcony, but we didn't use it. So yes we liked it, but here's why we thought it to be a bit pricey - no complimentary breakfast. The Hampton Inn next door at basically the same rate does include a breakfast. Next time, we'll make sure the specific hotel offers complimentary breakfast and plan accordingly.
