“Great Hotel”
Reviewed 21 November 2008

Great hotel, great location (5 mins walk to shops and restaurants on 5th Ave), friendly staff, who helped us out with great restaurant choices, and clean and spacious rooms. Just what we needed and great value for money. The pool was lovely although not a lot of room. You'd have to get there quick to grab a sun lounger. Continental breakfast was cereal /toast/ bagels and doughnuts. Nothing cooked but all adequate.
The hotel did boast of tempur pedic beds which would give you a great nights sleep. Although my mum found them comfortable, they did not suit me at all. I unfortunately had 3 sleepless nights.
Overall a great stay and I would definitely return.

We stayed for a week in October, and the hotel was fairly empty.
I was happy with everything except some of the staff at the desk. The young people and Peter were friendly. Lorraine and another older gentleman were cold and didn't even greet you when you arrived or left. When asked a question, both were curt. The hotel business is all about congeniality especially in today's market. I wouldn't let this make me not recommend the hotel, but I would warn others of the treatment.

We stayed here for five nights and did nothing but relax. As per other reviews the only down side to this hotel is the pillows. Peter at the hotel is very knowledgeable about Naples and also very helpful, he does like to talk alot though so dont' be in a hurry if you ask him anything.

The rooms are very spacious and clean with a free local paper delivered each morning to your room......a nice touch. To use the internet in the hotel will cost you 7dollars for 30 mins on their computer but they do have free wireless access.

The pool area is verey relaxing with free towels for guest use. Although the pool is small and the sunlongers can fill up quickly the pool area still remained quiet.

The hotel will also lend you towels to take down to the beach and we were informed by another guest that the hotel will also lend you chairs to take to the beach. Another nice touch.

Tin City and 5th Ave are about a 5 min walk from the hotel. If you visit Tin City you must go to Pinchers Crab Shack... the food is wonderful and the drinks are 2x1 on most draught beers and house wines, the staff will let you know. We spent quite a bit of time here.

what do you want from a hotel ? clean, friendly helpful staff, spacous rooms, good location, this hotel has the lot. we stayed here for 3 nights and came away with doing nothing but praising the place. beach is about a 10 min walk , if you drive there you have to find a space to park and pay for the pleasure to do so. great location for the shops and restaruants. for the money you pay for the hotel it`s amazing what you get !

The warning in the title is a very serious suggestion. The pillows at the Trianon are very flat and hard. They certainly are no match for the high-end TEMPUR-PEDIC bed. The bed must be a promotion with TEMPUR-PEDIC because their literature and a coupon are on the bed when you check in. This was my first time sleeping on a TEMPUR-PEDIC bed. I loved it and slept very well. I like a firm bed. My wife hated it. She prefers a soft bed.

From the moment we walked in and were greeted warmly by Melanie, to the night clerk, Peter, the staff was very friendly and professional. Melanie personally walked us around the hotel to show us different rooms and let us choose ours. Peter, with whom we had several conversations, shared some great insight about local restaurants – which ones to avoid and where the locals go. He was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly knew more about the area than even the best concierge at the fanciest hotels.

Breakfast: You can either walk 5 minutes to your choice of breakfast restaurants or eat at the hotel’s free continental spread. Your only choices here are cold cereal, muffins, bagels, and breads. I had a different muffin each day and each was unbelievably fresh and delicious. You have a choice of blueberry, cranberry, cheese or bran. Of course they also have milk, juices, coffee, and a great selection of teas.

This hotel is two short blocks from 5th so it’s in walking distance to the happening spots – while being quiet and secluded at the same time.

For $10 a day more, you can have a refrigerator in the room. There are no microwave ovens on the property.

Pool was very nice temperature. Small but not crowded at all. We were alone at the pool several times.

Bathroom is big. Great shower with shower DOOR – rare to find at hotels. Most places have those awful plastic curtains. Bathroom vanity had plenty of room and also a night light – another nice touch.

Wireless internet at this hotel works great.

For the price, this place cannot be beat! I am a big fan of the Hampton Inn chain and this hotel was cheaper, cleaner, and offered nicer amenities than any Hampton I have stayed at.

TRIANON HOTEL in Old Naples is the best kept secret in town - just don't forget to pack your own pillow.

  • Liked — Staff, bed, bathroom, large guest room, fresh muffins, great coffee, great wirelesss internet, location, clean, quiet, pool area, well maintained
  • Disliked — Hard flat pillows.

We have just returned from Florida and we loved the Trianon. It is a really peaceful haven, very well placed for the shops and restaurants. Although it was busy we often had the pool to ourselves and there was no annoying music blaring out so it was possible to read quietly. We found the breakfasts good--we really didn't want a huge cooked breakfast and although it was self service that was no problem at all. The room was large and well furnished--very clean. It was a little walk to the pier at night but we liked walking off our evening meal! A great find.

We only stayed at this hotel for one night but cannot fault. The hotel is very traditional, colonial not really suited to people with very young children. Breakfast is only Cereal and toast, fresh juice but adaquate for what we needed, to be honest fed up with big American breakfasts by this stage anyway. There is a small courtyard with a pool - very tastefully done and towels provided.
The hotel has an old time feel to it so not suitable for everyone but we loved it.
