“Hotel should be condemned!!!!!”
Reviewed 9 March 2010

We stayed for 2 nights only because Orbitz had taken our money already and would not return it. The hotel should be condemned. Bed are hard as rocks, condos are a 10X10 room with a small refrigerator adn microwave, the showers are nothing more than birdbaths, there is no security between adjoining rooms, the staff is unfriendly and not willing to help. We booked thru orbitz and they are useless in getting help or a refund. Even the hotel "operating' manager agrees that the hotel should be destroyed and start over. You feel like the people staying next door is actually sharing your room and bathroom with you. there are so many more things to write but unfortunatley there is no room!!!

We booked our stay at Coconut Palms II through Interval International, trading one of our weeks at our home resort in Las Vegas(which is a 5 star resort). we arrived at Coconut Palms II (after traveling all day from California)and were told by Katy(front desk girl) that they didn't have a room for us and that they were going to put us in one of their other properties and I told her no we wanted a room at the resort we booked at she was very rude and was like "oh well too bad you have to stay at this other place" as soon as she said we were staying at Royal Palms I knew it was going to be bad we stayed there about 6 years ago and it was horrible. We drove over there got to the room as soon as we opened the door there was a horrible smell, the place was dirty(bed sheets not clean) and the accomadations we were promised were not provided, we tried to call back over to Katy but she didn't answer the phone and the third time I called the security officer answered the phone and said he couldn't help us. The next morning I called Interval International and they were very nice apologizing for the poor customer service provided by Coconut Palms and quicly found us another resort(which is 5 star) over in Daytona Beach. I would never recommed Coconut Palms to anyone if anything I will tell everyone where not to stay when in New Smyrna Beach. Thank you Interval International for saving our vacation.

We were at Coconut for a time share thing and we didn't buy. It was a 2 star place and we couldn't see ourselves staying at this type of place every year. They put us in the place 2 doors down, Royal Palm. It was a 2 bed, 2 bath kitchenette. The tub had a big damaged spot that was all rusty. The fridge looked like it fell off the same truck as the tub. The front was dented and the side and top were all rusty. The couch needs to be hauled off to the dump. There is no internet service in these rooms. You have to walk a half a block to the Coconut lobby to get internet service.

The staff at Coconut are very nice and very accomodating. The time share people were really nice and friendly. There are only about 7 parking stalls for the whole building. If it's full, you have to park across the street. The ocean view was fantastic and the beach looked like it would be good but it was raining. The pool looked inviting but there was no hot tub at our building. It was a nice location for a beach vacation but we would prefer nicer accomodation with internet in the room and nicer furniture.

We stayed at one of the three buildings that are part of Coconut Palms. It was a smaller blue building away from the larger hotel but was on the beach. The hotel building we stayed in had an elevator that wasn't working and we had to carry all our luggage up to the third four by ourselves with no cart or bellperson. The outside of the hotel was pretty rundown and the parking was across the street in a tiny lot. Of course it rained so we had to walk across to the lot in it.
Inside the room was pretty good but one of the chairs was broken and it's a good thing no one sat in it before we noticed it. The front desk which is in another building a couple of buildings over, was not much help with anything at all.
We did see a beautiful space stuttle launch the morning we left and all in all had a good time.

This is our home resort and we love it here. I would never change it for anything else. The resort is small and friendly. We arrive after a 32 hr drive and park our vehicle and it doesn't move until we head for home. We walk the beach and walk to the grocery store every day to buy groceries for meals. We walk downtown for coffee and to "people watch". We enjoy Peanuts bar , the thrift store, the water taxi just to name a few. The resort is well used but comfortable and nicely decorated. The pools are clean and there are lots of activities for everyone and free coffee and donuts in the early A.M. I'm glad this is our home resort - see you in 2010 !! from N.S. Canada

Visiting this resort was the worst experience ever! We have had a time share for more than ten years and travelled quite a lot, but this was a complete low point: the only thing good about this place is the proximity and quality of the beach (for which the resort can't take credit).

Our unit was on the ground floor. Windows were to the street and parking lot, so we had to keep the curtains closed all the time - it was like being in jail. The main door to the parking lot was right by the unit door, so it was noisy no matter what time it was. The air conditioning was poor, noisy and old fashioned - both the bedrooms were hot, though the "living room" was cold. And the smell of the unit: it stuck to our clothes and came home with us (thank God for the washing machine!). It was like sleeping in a storage room. The review before this one complained about the laundry facilities: the time share company could - or should - stop this using this unit as a hotel room and reuse it as a place for the washers.

The staff had a "I just work here" attitude. Yes, it was the bike week, but still.

We'll remember this resort as filthy, dirty and old. And unfriendly. As a resort no ones cares for any more. Cheap (not referring to the cost of our stay).

A stay away.

I traveled with my husband,9 yr old daughter, 8 yr old son, and 20 yr old sister. We arrived at the resort early they let us go ahead and check in, but still had to wait room was being cleaned. Lobby was very small did have activities for kids Very Good cheap prices. Staff was never around when needed. Title coming up in floor in the kitchen, rusted edges in kitchen, small living room could not use sofa bed due to it would hit entertainment center. When taking a shower water woul run onto the bathroom floor. Found large water bugs in bathroom and one on my linen. Yuck! Not what you want to see. We had to clean our own room. Probably best cleaning its seen. Pool very small and over use of chemicals smelled very strong. When you are walking in the resort I felt very confined. We stayed a week and over all made room work. Kids had a great time even with the tropical storm "Faye". I didn't want to ruin their trip but internet is very misleading after looking at the website and then getting there. Only Had 2 washers and dryers ended going to a laundrymat spending alot of money.
