First off, if you are looking for upscale fine dining, look elsewhere. Now, if you want good food and cold drinks right on the beach, give Breakers a shot. We ate dinner here on the recommendation of a coworker who vacationed in New Smyrna Beach for years. My wife had key lime skewers of shrimp and I had the clam basket. Plenty of food to fill you up. Hamburgers were a main stay of the menu, but we couldn't bring ourselves to pass up some sort of seafood on the beach. There isn't a bad view in the place, but if at all possible, sit at the counter that lines the windows. The rum runner was potent and worth a try as well. We were there around 7 PM, and the place was packed on a Thursday night. Parking lot is very small, but there is plenty of parking places within an easy walk of the restaurant and lots of beach shops to browse thru after a meal if you want to spend a few hours.
