Lovely couple presenting a good menu of excellent food. Grouper curry was mild but tasty on the $8.95 early bird menu. We will return

but still have the standard meatloaf everyone loves ( As big as your head but more tasty...) and the Spaghetti with the fresh sauce made when you order. Chef David grew up fishing around Casey Key and only buys and uses the best local fish. However, the new veal dishes are crazy outstanding good.

THE BEST VEAL PICATTA EVER. Ever. Ever. Ever.

There...it has been said. Love this place. I also take my dog in good weather and sit outside with her.

After checking out the sundown drum circle, complete with belly dancers, at Venice Beach, friends suggested this place as a continuation of our adventure. What a great find! It took awhile to wrap our minds around the cafes peripatetic menu, but we started by sharing a plate of fried crisp-and-tender calamari with a side of ginger sauce that was sweet and a little hot, along with an order of grilled oysters, also delicious. Main courses of chicken nasi goreng, spicy eggplant and shrimp, pork ribs, and seared scallops were well prepared, and interestingly spiced. The chef graciously amped up the spices for us. The ribs were particularly wonderful, with flavors of star anise, coriander, and cinnamon. Portions were generous. The yellow stringbeans served as a side with my scallops were a bit woody, but all around, flavors, preparation, and presentation were superb. An Italian Pinot Grigio worked with everyone's dinner, and though we were all stuffed, we had to sample the cheesecake dessert (with four forks), which was both light and extraordinarily creamy, served with juicy fresh blackberries and spiced pecans. Be careful not to fill up on the dense, slightly sweet bread that's served early on with an olivada, to stave off hunger; it's very good, but you'll really want to save your appetite for what's to follow.

Service was friendly and prompt, and after his dinner rush, the chef made the rounds of the close-to-full place chatting up the clientele. A charming place and a memorable meal! We'd return in a heartbeat.

After passing by this little restaurant over the last 5 years, we decided to give it a try based on some reviews we had read....Why did we wait so long! Cafe is just that, a small Cafe, very personable, cozy and quite, just the way we like it. As to the food, it was excellent. We started with Rolfie's Indonesian eggrolls which were some of the best we have had in Florida. For our main course, we had the Beef Rendang and the Seafood Curry with Shrimp. Both were excellent.
The beef was very tender in a slightly spicy sauce and the shrimp curry was very rich and spiced just right. All in all, an excellent meal. We can't wait to go back

We found the choices great....many wonderful Indonesian delights full of flavour. The crispy calamari and hand made egg rolls with dipping sauces are a wonderful starter. The `curry creek salad` is a winner as well. Lots of wine choices to enjoy. The mains can be as simple as the huge meatloaf dinner or some exotic Indonesian fare. Desserts are made on site and are yummy. We especially enjoy the Chocolate mousse....sometimes white and dark chocolate. The owners are friendly and love to chat with the diners. It`s a small place, not much on decor, but clean and friendly..............everything you need. It is our new favourite spot!!
