We waited in a long line to sample their famous orange ice cream, but the line moved quickly and the wait was worth every second. The creamy orange ice cream blended with chocolate is a delicious treat, as is the orange/ vanilla combo. The old building that houses the produce shop as well as the ice cream stand is a charming throwback. Sitting on the benches outside and enjoying a cone is a great way to enjoy a sunny afternoon in Florida.

OK store. Charged for juice samples (5 cents). Ice cream cones were good but tasted more like sherbet.

We are staying less than 5 min from Nokomis Groves and been back twice for ice cream. The first day I got a small orange/pineapple swirl that was fabulous. I think the fruit flavors are more like sherbet, the choc and vanilla melt faster than fruit. Second day I had orange and chocolate stacked which was really good too, but pineapple is my favorite. The small portion is huge and if you don't care about the cone, get it in a cup. I think it's easier to handle. On the second trip we also visited the store and tasted the orange juice and bought many jellies to take home. We also purchased the classic key lime pie to eat at the house with friends that was fabulous. If you can find it, stop for the ice cream.

Yummy ice cream a small cup is more than enough! Went back twice in two days! Got an orange/ vanilla swirl topped with pineapple on one visit and chocolate/lime the next. So good a very popular place!

I have two different experiences at nokomis groves. 1st visit i bought some of the best fruit & juice i ever had in my life. get the scarlet or red oranges when in season, the best oranges i ever had.2nd visit 3 weeks later,i bought the tangerines.WORST fruit ever, not sweet & had putrid after taste. they also used them in the juice.had to throw it all out. their quality depends on type & season.DO NOT buy any of the marmalades or jellys, could not idetifiy what this sludge in a jar was. it was like chunks of bad tasting rubber. last on the list is the ice cream, not good at all. the orange tastes like serbet and the vanilla is like ice milk which is ok if you like that sort of thing. if you are expecting frozen custurd soft serve like dairy queen or tastee freeze you will be very very disappointed. I will definitily go back, just be aware what you are buying and when.
