My husband and I stayed mid-May and had an excellent experience. It was our first stay at the resort and first time visiting Captiva. Our cottage was clean and nicely decorated. The view of the Gulf was beautiful and the sunsets are breathtaking. We enjoyed many frozen drinks at the pool - ML and Samuel provided great service. Overall, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We rented a boat at the marina and had a great day fishing on the bay. There were lots of dolphins that would come right up to the boat. We also saw several manatees and otters.

We'd been to Tween Waters about 30 years ago when it was really a sleepy place. On this trip, we came back to a crowded and more developed spot. The walls in the rooms were thin, we were next door to a crying baby who we could hear throughout the night. The resort felt crowded. Our bayview room had a sliver of a view of the water and a big view of a parking lot.

The beach is really nice, that is for sure, but it's surprising that at a beach resort, they'd charge for beach chairs. I was perched on the edge of one at about 5 pm when we first checked in and the beach attendant asked me if I wanted to rent the chair explaining that their business hours were til 6.

At the end of the day, Tween Waters was certainly fine enough, mostly because the beach is just so beautiful but we weren't blown away by the accomodations, by any stretch.

'Tween Waters is a perfectly good hotel. It cannot and does not compete with the Ritz or hotels of that stature but it does offer a perfectly acceptable product. Everyone is friendly, the rooms are spacious and an effort has been made to update- again, won't compare to top tier but its good. The location is just fabulous. Perfect for families with kids. I plan on taking my future grandchildren there regularly. Good restaurants with great service. Excellent amenities as far as lots of activities. Amazing uncrowded private beach and clear, gorgeous water. Nice 1 mile walk on the beach into the village of Captiva with lots of fun restaurants and nightlife options.

Just spent mother's day weekend at Tween Waters and it was great. If you are looking for a very quite and restful place this is it! The resort is very old Florida so if you are looking for fancy and new turn around. The resort is clean, the rooms, the pool area and the little dock area. Staff is wonderful, helpful and kind. Even though it was mother's day weekend and they had two weddings going on you never felt overwhelmed. If you don't want to sit by the pool you can walk across the street and sit by the Gulf of Mexico. They have chairs on the beach that you can rent. Went to the spa and it was really nice. Food was very nice, they have both casual and a bit upscale dinning. I would recommend this place and go back in a heart beat.

Room Tip: They have several different types of rooms located around the property so ask about them. The price...

Absolutely wonderful Resort ! Located directly across the street from the Ocean[Gulf of Mexico] and it sits right on the Bay.The Yacht Club is next door. The Tween Waters Inn have their own Marina- where you could come in by boat for a visit. There is availability of Bay fishing on sight-either renting a boat, going charter fishing w/ a Captain or dropping a line and fishing right from the dock at night. The Resort is a very nice size-not too large and not too small.
We were there April 27-May 4, 2013. Wished we stayed a few extra days!
The beach is very shelly; as most of the west coast of FL is-but you can see dolphins very close up from your beach chairs. There are beach chairs & cabanas to rent or you can bring your own ! We were able to walk from our room just across the street to the beach in less than 5 minutes . Therefore in the evening we had a prime spot to see the absolutely gorgeous sunsets !
You can stay in the separate private cottages or in the buildings on the grounds. We stayed in a ONE BR KING BAYSIDE suite in Mangrove and had an absolutely fantastic room. It had been recently updated and was very pleasent with small kitchenette [no oven], full size fridge/freezer, small glass cooktop w/ cooking utensils, dishes and pans. The BR and a living area were separate. Lovely large Master Bathroom. There was a very nice screened in porch off the BR and living area which overlooked the Bay.
There is a wonderful pool with plenty of seating and a great bar!!!
The property was absolutely clean and well maintained. All the Staff were professional, friendly and have a way to remember names[most have been there for many years]. They make you feel like a guest in their home!! Iseemed that all the guests were very friendly, too . It was like a big family- all at Tween Waters having a very relaxing vacation and great time!
The restaurants on site are very very good. Your Continental Buffet Breakfast in the morning is wonderful. A lot of choices of fresh fruit, cheese, pastries, cereal, bagels, yoguart and beverages. If you should want a Full Breakfast you can purchase it for a nominal cost and also get the Buffet with it!Yummy!
During the week at the Crows Nest ,which is very informal ,they have specials like Prime Rib night, Fish Fry night, Surf & Turf Night and crab races!!!
And for the special and romantic evening you can dine in First Class style at the Old Captiva Inn. It should be a 4+star restaurant!! We ate there 2 nights and had 2 absolutely fantastic meals ! Kudos to a great chef & team!!Read reviews on Trip Advisor about this great restaurant!
I know, I shouldn't write about how wonderful this Resort is for I do not want to share it with anyone !!! It surely is a hidden secret. And we hope the owners keep it the same way it is and not be tempted to"copy" what others on the island are doing!!
This was our first time here and it ended up to be one of the BEST vacations we have had!!
Thank You Tween Waters Inn & fantastic staff! We will be back next year !

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be nice. You are either Ocean or Bay side. Some cottages face the Ocean but most s...

The entire staff from check-in to check-out were phenomenal! Friendly & courteous thru n thru.
Oasis pool staff kept us hydrated during the day and the Crow's Nest staff at night. Phil the bartender was on top of every refill & even surprised us with an engagement dessert.
We visit Captiva at least 3 to 4 times a year and are never disappointed in their service.
