“Something to see”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2014

We went to the bubble room at the recommendation of a friend who said we have to see it. She was right, the decor is very entertains. Memorabilia from the 30's and 40's surround you. The wait staff or "bubble scouts" are all dressed in Boy Scout attire and are very pleasant. The food was ok. I had the grouper sandwich and my wife had the blackened tilapia. We did split dessert, which is the star of this meal. We had the orange crunch cake which the menu claimed is award winning. So if your ever in captiva, at least stop here for dessert.

“Go for dessert!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

The Bubble Room was recommended for dessert and boy was that a great recommendation. It's a kitchy place but the desserts are awesome but a little pricey. Then again, it's located on Captiva Island so it's understandable. The layer cakes are huge with unique combinations. The yellow cake with brown sugar crunch between the layers and orange cream cheese icing is terrific as well as the Butterfinger ice cream pie. These desserts are huge so plan to share.

“We will be back”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

A little expensive for a burger; we had the bubble burger and the Mae West Grilled chicken ($16.95 and doesn't come with fries or salad), but I have to say the chicken was the best I have ever had and the burger was in my top three. The atmosphere and service is what makes it as well. It is Christmas every day, there is an aquarium seating area and a nostalgic movie theme throughout. The service was excellent and friendly. If we do come back to the area we will make a special trip to the island for it.

“Great Food, with Silliness”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

The restaurant itself is a treat for the eyes, with a 1940s Hollywood theme mixed with Christmas and kitsch. The staff's smiles and silliness is contagious. The French Onion Soup, prime rib sandwich, and crab cake sandwich are highly recommended. We had the Carolina Moons appetizer topped with gooey melted cheese and bacon bits, and it was delicious and HUGE!
